HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JENNIFER!

Image
Today is my sister, Jennifer's 40th birthday!! We celebrated last weekend with her by shopping in Salado and then by spending some time at her home in Yoakum. We had so much fun. I love this picture because we took it on Friday when all of the girls were together, relaxing after a hard day of shopping, laughing and drinking wine. It really does not get better than that...I will post more pics from last weekend soon, but this post is completely dedicated to my dear sister...so, I hope you have a great day, Jennifer! You are a great sister, friend, mother, daughter, wife, teacher, shopper, wine drinker, dancer:)...I could go on and on, but just know that I have always looked up to you and prayed that one day I would be just like you. I am so thankful you are in my life and wish you many, many, many more happy birthdays! I love you!

(Here is a picture of the t-shirt we wanted to get for you, but decided it might be inappropriate for a teacher and wife of the superintendent...:))

THE LUCKY ONE

Image

This is a layout I did for the Scrapbook University lucky challenge and also for Paper Adventure 08 Operation 12. I have always loved the song, the Lucky One by Faith Hill. It makes me think of Sutton and the fact that no matter how crazy things are at the time, I am truly blessed to be able to spend my life with my soul mate. God is so good and I really am "the lucky one". Post a comment and let me know how you are the lucky one. Hope everyone is doing well.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUTTON!

Image
Today is Sutton's 34th birthday. He spent the weekend farming and we celebrated last night with friends. Tonight, we celebrated together with lobster, cilantro cream sauce, his favorite salad, beans, and special amaretto flavored ice cream. I will post pictures from the weekend later, but here is one of the birthday boy tonight. I am so thankful that I have gotten to spend 6 of his 34 birthdays with him and I look forward to spending many, many, many more birthdays with him. I am so proud of the man he is and so thankful that God put us together. Happy Birthday, Sutton!

A GREAT VALENTINES DAY

Yes, I realize I am almost a month late on this post, but because this was one of my favorite all time Valentine's Days, I wanted to post about it. I had a typical work day with a team meeting and making calls, but the fun part was that night. Sutton made all of the arrangements and was able to get lobsters and king crab steamed for us at Albertson's. He even found a cilantro cream sauce recipe on the internet and it was awesome! When we went to Mexico last summer, this was our favorite meal of the trip, so it really took us both back. I was in charge of dessert, so I just picked up some cute treats from McKay's in Abilene.

It was such a treat to enjoy this romantic dinner with candlelight in the comfort of our own home. I am so blessed to have such a sweet, romantic husband, who is also very good to help in the kitchen and around the house. I know I don't tell him enough how much I appreciate him (hopefully, he will read this:)). I love the lobster picture because it reminds us both of the episode of Friends where Phoebe talks about Ross and Rachel being "lobsters". I have always said that Sutton is my lobster.

Later that night, we were honored to be able to help our sweet neighbor, Katie, celebrate her 1st birthday. We had a great time watching her devour her cake and visiting with friends. Valentine's Day 2008 was a great one that I will never forget! Hope you had a good one, too. Image

GOOD LUCK, DR HUBBARD!

Recently a group of Abilene area reps got together for dinner and a going away party for our friend, Dr. Hubbard. Dr. Hubbard has practiced in Abilene for many years and is now relocating to Comanche to be closer to his family. We had a great night of fellowship and telling fun stories. I have to say walking into that room would have been many doctors worst nightmare as there were 20+ reps present :), but the evening was not about selling products, it was about telling a good man how we much we care about him. It was also about honoring his wonderful staff and wishing them all the best. Our friend Kris did a great job organizing the evening at Lytle Land and Cattle. The decorations and cake were hunting themed which fit Dr. Hubbard to a tee. Abilene will miss him, but Comanche is in for a treat! Many of the reps will continue to call on Dr. Hubbard, and I am so thankful I am one of them. He makes our job fun and we appreciate him more than he will ever know.Image

GUESS WHO IS NOW A MULTI-ENGINE RATED PILOT....

Image
Sutton flew to Dallas on Monday to do his multi-engine check ride. This rating will allow him to be able to fly a twin engine airplane. After an intense training and a month of at home study, he successfully completed the check ride! Thanks to everyone for the prayers and encouragement...I know he felt every one of them and we appreciate it very much. Sutton will continue his duties as a field rep for Farm Bureau, but he will now also help out as a co-pilot on the Farm Bureau King Air from time to time. I am so proud of Sutton. He is now an instrument, commercial, multi-engine rated pilot!
