Q's World

Image
Well, I am finally getting around to posting pictures of Q's nursery. I waited so long because I had a couple of details that I wanted to finish before I shared photos. Here is a little tour of Q's world (even though she is not living in it right now). She is still sleeping in the pack and play bassinet in our room since her room is on the other side of the house. I am hoping to get her moved in the next couple of weeks since she is only getting up once or twice a night now.
Image The daybed we got from our sweet neighbors. Sutton painted it white and his mom made these awesome pillows. It turned out so nice!

Image I have been waiting on these mirrors which were on backorder for several weeks. I got them from Pottery Barn Kids and I adore them. I think they make the room and I hope Q will love them too.

Image The crib and the chair (remember the chair? Well, it was definitely worth the wait!) Sutton's mom made all of the bedding and the amazing curtains! I hope Q gets some of that creativity...

Image The changing table- I love the picture above it...There is an up close photo coming below...

Here are a few of the details that I love-

Image These shelves were my Memaw's. Sutton painted them white and they are as good as new. Notice the worn out bunny that does not match. I love it and had to display it because my mom gave it to me the Easter before she passed away. Also, I love the Q's. I told my friend Lori about this idea (of course I saw it on a blog)and she started collecting them for us. I just think Q is the coolest letter ever!

Image Quincy's Gigi (Sutton's mom) painted this sweet picture...Q loves to stare at it when we change her.

Image LOVE this pillow! It turned out even cuter than I imagined.

Image I love these too...They were a gift from my work friends and they are perfect in the room.

ImageThis sweet cross was a gift from Sutton's aunts.

Well that is it! I love the room...It is so happy and peaceful and full of love.It is exactly what I hoped it would be!

(By the way, this post is especially for Becky B. and Amanda...Sorry it took me so long!)

A Month of Firsts

Image

I can't believe it has been so long since I last posted! December flew by as we adjusted to having a new baby in the house, recovered from l&d, prepared for Christmas, and just soaked up every precious moment. I feel like today is the start of trying to get into some sort of routine, so while Miss Q is down for her morning nap, and the house is picked up and laundry is going, I decided I should probably update you. I am thoroughly enjoying being home and love that it is 10:30 on a cold Monday morning and I am still in my pj's, drinking coffee, and eating amazing oatmeal muffins that were left by my door this morning (Laura- just got your message-thank you my sweet friend!). Hard to believe, but New Year's Day, Quincy was one month old! She continues to amaze us and seems to be very strong willed. The first two weeks she rarely cried and slept so much, but recently she has woken up and she definitely wants her voice heard. She is eating well and weighed 10 lbs. 6 oz. at her one month appointment. She is smiling and is especially happy in the morning and when she sees her daddy. She eats alot during the day and I guess that is helping with her sleep, because she sleeps between 4-6 hours straight at night. The only problem is when she does get up in the middle of the night, we are up for over an hour. I really love this time, though, because it is just the two of us and it is so quiet and peaceful. I am going to post a few pics today, but since I have taken well over 200 since she arrived, I am a little overwhelmed...I have lots more from Christmas, but that is another post for another day... The above picture was taken when she was 2 weeks old.
