Our Mansfield Thiots
For the past two weeks, I have had one 5 year old granddaughter named Brookyn, one 4 year old granddaughter named Keelie, one 3 year old granddaughter named Addison, one 2 year old grandson named Callum and one 1 year old granddaughter named Penny, and one 8 month old named Harper.  Is that amazing to you like it is to me?  Well today that changed as Brooklyn celebrated her 6 year old birthday.  We were able to celebrate with her  yesterday by having Pancakes in our PJ's.  What fun that was.  Thanks for including us Brooklyn.

Friday afternoon when I got off work at the temple, I called Tatia to see how her day was going.  She had been busy doing laundry and had cleaned out her closet.  I was on my way home and thought, wait a minute, turn around and go see that clean closet and maybe, just maybe, Tatia will let me borrow Miss Penny for a sleepover.  The closet looked awesome and nobody loves folding laundry more than me and Tatia let me fold towels and wash clothes and then I asked if Penny could come home with me.  Horray, she was excited and Tatia was willing to share  I loved it and knew Graypa would be thrilled to have her too. Tatia made a fun new pillow this weekend.  I love chevron pattern, do you?

Dick was telling me that he has invited Charlie to come help him staff Boy Scout Jamboree this summer in Virginia.  Kenzie is so nice to let him go and Dick is way excited to have him come and be his support staff.  Char will be a great help to Dick as he has been asked to be in charge of the Technology group at Jamboree.  I hope all is well in Carmichael.  I LOVE this photo of Callum.  It was taken last year, but I could look at that picture all day long.

I had the sweetest experience at the temple on Friday.  I think it' appropriate to have a sweet experience there having to do with Stacy and Pierce since that is where I first met Stacy.  I was working and two times during the day I heard the name Adelaide.  That is not a very common name and I  know it is one of the names that Stacy loves.  It just gave me the sweetest feeling of a little tiny girl with that name coming to join our family one day.  I love the temple and I love Adelaide.

Sky called on friday as it had heated up to 34 degrees.  That was the first time it had been above freezing since Sky and Kara returned to Utah a month ago.  It's been a COLD Frozen month in Utah.  I've felt guilty many times as our weather has been quite nice lately.  I'm glad you got to feel what 34 feels like.  I found this funny snake while shopping for Brooklyn for her birthday.  Some how it just slithered into my cart and I bought it.  I called Sky to ask if he and Kara would like to give Brooklyn a snake (pink and blue) for her 6th birthday.  I wish you could have seen her open the bag with the snake.  She just squilled and was so thrilled with that snake.  Well done Sky and Kara!

After feeling crummy for way to long, I'm glad to report that I am feeling like me again, and that's a good thing.  The bad thing is that Dick is feeling like I was last week.  Don't you worry, it has not slowed him down much.  We had ward conference today and he delivered a beautiful talk to our ward family.  He always worries so much and always does a marvelous job.  He challenged us all to shape up and fly higher and find ways to improve the way we show love to others.  Dick has worked hard to be a good Bishop.  I don't know if he could do more if he quit his job and did it full time.  The Lord has surely blessed us in ways we don't even see for the past 5 years.  Dick has been able to do more with his 24 hours a day than most anyone I know.  I admire him greatly and appreciate all he does for our family and for others.  Right now when most people who feel like he does, would be in bed, with a foot ball game playing, he is at the stake center at the Youth Standards night.  He may be a bit crazy but I sure love him.
I hope your week has been a good one.  Sure love you, Robynn

Our Mansfield Thiots
It's been a very long week in Mansfield this week.  Ricky left early last Monday and is due to return tomorrow night making for lots of Mommy and little girl time and lots of missing Daddy time.  Becky has done a super job of keeping everyone happy.  I was so glad the two big girls could come for a sleepover at Grammy's on Friday night.  We had a fun time and played all day Saturday before meeting up to return the girls on Saturday evening at Chuy's.  It's Brooklyn's favorite restaurant and we met Pierce and Stacy there as well as bringing Penny and her mom and dad with us too.  Eleven Thiot's at Chuy's was a LOT of fun and a little wild.  It's a good thing it's a noisy, lively restaurant, we fit right in. Hurry Home Ricky!

Wednesday night Dick and Penny had a Graypa/Grandaughter Date.  Jake and Tatia went to the Temple and Graypa was lucky enough to get to hang out with Penny. I was going to go too, but ended up not feeling well enough to go.  This was Dick's first time to tend Penny by himself and he LOVED it. They enjoyed a movie, some stories and some good snuggling.  Penny is delightful always and I'm glad Dick got some special time with her too.

Tuesday was a WONDERFUL Day in California.  It was Callum's second birthday and what a sweet birthday boy he was.  Mackenzie baked the most amazing little boys birthday cake I have ever seen.  I can only imagine how DELIGHTED Callum must have been with it.  It was nearly too amazing to eat, but I bet it was DELICIOUS.  Keelie will be a Kindergarten girl next fall and so it's Kindergarten Roundup time for her.  Where they live,  you can choose the school you go to, which require some School Shopping time for her mom.  It's a bit tricky, but with Kenzie's smart ways, I know she will find Keelie a wonderful school and a wonderful place to grow!  Good Luck!

Our Cruising Thiots
Pierce and Stacy returned Saturday morning from a magnificent week on the high seas.  What a great experience their family was able to share together.  Stacy's Grandfather and his sweet wife invited Stacy's Mom, his daughter, and as many family members who could go on a one week cruise. No children were invited which made for a nice restful trip for everyone, but also some lonesome moms.  I think everyone was glad to return home.  We had a fun slide show on Sunday night from their pictures they took.  I LOVED reliving the trip with Pierce and Stacy.  Pierce leaves this evening to fly home and Stacy will stay a few more days.  It's been wonderful to see them.

Our Provo Thiots
Provo is experiencing record setting cold temperatures which is getting a bit OLD and COLD. They could use some sunny days and a bit of warmth.  Skyler called the other evening while he was waiting for his ride, his sweet bride, to pick him up at school.  It was so fun to get to catch up and hear about their busy lives.  School is going well and his classes are going to prove challenging.  It's time to get his internship figured out so that too will be challenging.  You are the man Sky!  You can do tough things well.

There is a scripture that says it's necessary to have opposition in all things.  Having spent this last week feeling really lousy, it has surely made me appreciate good health.  I think I have taken for granted feeling good and sometimes it takes a week of feeling bad to appreciate it.  OK, I hope I have learned my lesson and can have a better week.
Dick is busy preparing his Ward Conference talk for Sunday.  He always worries and worries about it and always has done a really good job.  He's struggling to choose a topic but I'm sure he will find the perfect one. We had a sad death in our ward this week.  The mother of the gal who passed away is in our ward.  Her daughter belongs to a different church, but Rose leaf lived with this sweet gal.  It's going to be a difficult time for their family.  I'm glad Dick can give some help and comfort.
Sure love you, Robynn

Ricky started his new job two weeks ago and has been doing home training.  He heads to Arizona tomorrow morning early for 10 days of training there.  Becky and the girls are thrilled he has a new job but are not looking too forward to 10 lonely days.  They will be busy getting ready for Brooklyn's upcoming birthday party on the 26th of January.  She is planning a Hello Kittie Party for her girl friends where they are invited to come in the morning in their PJ's and eat Pancakes shaped like Hello Kittie.  I can hardly wait as she told me I will be getting an invitation to come too. Oh how Grammy's love to come to fun birthday parties.  Good Luck on your 10 Days of Training Ricky, and Becky and girls, know we are close by if you need some extra helping hands.

Miss Penny got her first but we know that last bump this week.  She walked right into the kitchen table and it hit her right beside her left eye.  She has a cute little black eye, well maybe a  more redish eye.  I felt so sad for her, but she surely hasn't let it slow her down.  Tatia had a doctors appointment on Tuesday, and so I got to watch Penny.  She brought her friend Quinn the Penquinn to play with and when her mom got ready to go home, Quinn was no where to be found.  She has slept with Quinns since her first Christmas and Tatia wasn't sure she could sleep without her.  When she would ask for her, Tatia would tell her that Quinn was having a sleep over at Grammy's.  That seemed to help her get by without her, but she was surely delighted when I stopped by after the temple on Friday and put Quinn on the door step and knocked and hid from view. She hugged that little pink Penquin like crazy.  Thanks for sharing Quinny with Grammy Penny.

Our Mackenzie has been sick sick this week with Bronchidous.  Oh my I don't even know how to spell it.  It's a miserable thing to have when you have two little ones to take care of.  Charlie was able to take a day and a 1/2 off of work and come home to take care of everybody.  Thankfully, they are two very nice little people.  I'm so grateful we live in the day with doctors that know how to help us feel better.  Even though it still takes time to get well, they help us along the way.  I had a wonderful thing happen this week.  A Christmas package arrived from Californina with two little hands inside.  One hand of Keelie's and one hand of Callums.  What a delight that was for this Grammy to get to hold those little hands (made of salt dough) .  Thanks Kenzie for your kind and thoughtful and crafty ways. I love those hands and I love you for making them for me.  Char thanks for being Super Daddy this week.

Late Thursday night, Pierce and Stacy landed at DFW Airport.  Stacy's grandfather had invited his whole family to go on a cruise which set sail on Saturday evening.  Pierce and Stacy have been trying to get certified in scuba diving for the past several months in Preparation for the cruise.  they set sail out of Galviston, Texas and will cruise for seven delightful days.  Each time I think about them I smile.  I know they are having a great time.  We are hoping to get to see them for a few minutes when they return before flying back home. We can hardly wait!

Our Provo Thiots
For Christmas this year, Skyler drew Charlie's name.  He wanted to get him tickets to go to a Sacramento Kings, vs the Dallas Mavs Basketball Game.  The Game was this past Thursday night and I am happy to report that Charlie and a friend went and were able to cheer the Mavs onto a WIN!  The first one they've had for quite a while so that was extra good.  Sky was wishing he could have gone with Char to the game, but I'm guessing that he was there in spirit.  Provo has been experiencing some extra cold temeratures this week.  Plenty of snow and down right COLD.  I'm so glad they have a cozy apartment to live in to stay warm.

We Empty Nesters
Our weather has been cold and wet this week.  Our Elders go out nice and dry and a few hours later return soaked to the skin.  They each emptied about 1 1/2 cups of water out of their shoes yesterday afternoon.  They are sure good sports and don't complain and just laugh when a car drives up beside them and splashes them.  I'm glad to report that they purchased some fine raincoats this week.  Transfer calls came last night and our Elder Larsen who has been our for six weeks, will be training a new greenie in the Plano 3rd ward and our Elder Merrill will stay with us another six weeks and will get yet another greenie to train.  This will be his third greenie.  He said with Elder Larsen training that makes him a grandpa.  I'm not sure about all this missionary lingo, but they are surely working hard and having fun along the way.
Dick had a wonderful weekend with some great stake activities.  Brad Wilcox came and spoke to the Laurels and Priests in 8 stakes.  That is a LOT of youth.  Dick loved his talk and couldn't wait to go back tonight for a fireside after we got home from The Priesthood Preview for our 11 year old boys turning 12 this year.  The Primary is invited for one purpose and that is to serve refreshements.  We took our wedding Root Beer Float mugs and served up some delicious Root Beer Float that were a hit.  Yummy!  It's been a good week and I hope you have had a good one too.  Sure love ya'll, Robynn.

First Week of Our New Year

Sunday, January 06, 2013

Our Mansfield Thiots
Today is fast Sunday, the first Sunday of the month.  A few months ago we decided we'd like to have Family Home Evening with our family on Fast Sunday.  When I was calling, rather last minute to make some plans, Ricky's family was available Saturday night but not Sunday so we switched plans and planned it for Saturday night.  Fortunately, Tatia and Jake and Penny could come if we met early in the evening so we did. We had a fun lesson about how blessed we are to ALL be Children of God.  Our new theme for Primary this year is I am a Child of God.  It's going to be a wonderful year remembering that all year.  Today was Addison's first day in the Sunbeam Class in Primary.  As I watched my little Sunbeams, I just imagined her in her class.  I loved last year when Keelie had her first week of Sunbeams in  my Primary and now she's a CTR 4 and Brooklyn a CTR 5.  We've got 2 nursery kids, Callum and Penny and one lap baby still, Harper.  What a great Primary team of Grandchildren Dick and I have.

Our Lovers Lane Granges
Jake started his two  months of being a Teaching Assistant for the first year medical students this week.  Guess what?  He really likes it and looks forward to going each day.  I'm sure the students enjoy his great teaching methods and his smarts.  Tatia and Penny are missing him after having him home for a few weeks straight.  They got their Christmas decorations all boxed up extra well as they will be making a move with them this summer.  Well done Granges!

Our Carmichael Thiots
Charlie must have been very busy this week as we haven't heard much from them.  I hope all is well.

Our L.A. Thiots
Pierce and Stacy arrived back home last Monday  night and have hit the ground running.  They've been busy playing catch up for when they were away.

Our Provo Thiots
Skyler and Kara enjoyed getting to see Pierce and Stacy last Sunday afternoon.  That made me happy that they were able to spend some time together.  Sky's winter semester starts back up and he is looking forward to his classes and projects.  Kara is enjoying her job, they hired a new manager who is much better to work for.  Happy Day.

We Empty Nesters
For the first week of the new year, it was packed with many good things and good times.  Dick picked up Ricky's family on Monday night and then headed straight to the Stake Youth New Years Eve Dance.  He enjoyed it but was tired for the next few days trying to catch up on lost sleep.   Dick finsihed his last Tithing Settlements up on Wednesday evening.  Horray!  No matter how early he starts, it seems to go all the way through the new year.  Our friends the Copfers were in town tending a darling little granddaughter and we got to have a fun visit with them on Thursday.  I loved getting to meet London and it was fun to see Jeff again too.  Thanks for making the effort to come see us Copfers.  We love you!  Friday night we were able to attend the Eagle Scout Recognition banquet for our District.  We had 3 new eagles in our ward and one of them is our home teacher who we love, Austin Walker. It was great to be there to support him.  Saturday morning was a fun event.  Our Primary hosted a Pancake breakfast at the church to find out WHOOOO their new Primary teacher was going to be.  We got to come in our PJ's which was extra fun too. We had a great turn out and I was so glad.  What a fun first new week of 2013.  I wouldnt mind if the next one was a little more boring.  Sure love ya'll, Robynn

Happy 2013!!!
