Our Mansfield Thiots in Redding
Ricky's family woke up EARLY on Christmas eve and boarded a plane to Oakland, California where they were met by Nana and Papa Jensen and the Christmas fun began.  They've had a wonderful week in Redding California and have been able to see lots of family and friends.  The girls have loved the four wheelers and loved the trips to the  mountains and the fresh Christmas snow to play in. They have learned to shoot bb guns and Ricky even took the challenge and did a back dive into the swimming pool to win the polar bear dive award of the week.  It's been a fun filled Christmas week.  They will be home later this week and we are excited.

Tatia's family stayed home for Christmas this year and boy are we glad that they did as we went to Charlottesville for Christmas.  We have spent Christmas in Cancun Mexico and in Salt Lake before, but this was our first Charlottesville Christmas.  What a beautiful place and what perfect hosts to be with for the week of Christmas.  We packed a lot of fun and made lots of good memories and mostly just enjoyed being together.  We want to give a special shout out to Delta Airlines for giving us an extra night in Virginia because of delayed flights.  Nothing could have made us happier!

Our Carmichael Thiots in Carmichael
Charlie has had to work a lot over the holidays but they have had a wonderful week.  Mackenzie's brother Uncle Ian and her sister Keltzie and her fun hubby have been "Home for the Holidays"  and they have loved getting to spend time together.  Santa was very kind and the kids have been loving playing with their new Christmas toys.  Keelie got a skate board and rollerskates and Callum a new train with an amazing crane.  They are happy kidos. Maybe the very best news of Christmas was the news that the sellers of the home they made an offer on accepted their offer and they are now going through the process of inspecitions and loan stuff to become home owners in the next few weeks.  Happy Days!!!

Our L.A. Thiots in Utah
Pierce's family stayed at home until Christmas afternoon sos they could carry on their Christmas tradition of surfing and playing on the beach on Christmas morning and then packed up their bags and headed to St. George, Utah where Stacy's family was meeting at her Grandfather's home there.  They stayed there a couple of days and then traveled north to Salt Lake to spend the rest of the week.  They are staying with my little sister Lani and she is loving having them there with her.  She loves watching Miss Adelaide who is enchanted with Lani's beautifully decorated home. Pierce is hoping to catch some time on the slopes skiing or snow boarding and Stacy and Adelaide are looking forward to lots of cousin time.

Our Dallas Thiots in Morocco
Casa Blanca is the setting that Sky and Kara choose to celebrate their third Christmas and anniversary together.  They have had an almost magical week since they left on Christmas Eve for northern Africa.  I must admit, I would have been happier with a bit "safer" location but they have had a wonderful time and promised not to bring home any bugs.  They return tonight at 10:30 and I can't wait to see them and hear all about their adventures together.

Ricky and Becky returned on Wednesday night, two very happy, very tanned, and very lonesome for three little girls.  They had a wonderful time but are sure glad to be home.  Becky hasn't hardly put Miss Harper down, per Harpers request, she just wants her mom to hold her. I loved seeing them and getting to take them HOME!  It's so nice to get away and always so good to come home.  Their actual anniversary is on Tuesday.  Ten Years is AWESOME!

Our Charlottesville Granges
Miss Penny and I were visiting this week and we both couldn't decide if we are more excited for Christmas, or more exicted for us to be together starting next Saturday.  I think I know the answer to my part.  I can't wait to see those sweet little Charlottesville kidos of mine.  Dick is equally excited as he hasn't spent more than 3 days in Charlottesville and to get a whole week is going to be wonderful. I am packing my suit case with "PROJECTS" as Miss Penny calls them.  She LOVES doing projects together and there isn't much of anything that makes me any happier either.  Can't wait Miss Penny. When we saw Maxwell in July, there were so many people around and it was hard for the two of us to get much time.  I'm hoping he won't be afraid of me this visit and we can snuggle and play.  See you soon!

Our Carmichael Thiots
I've been thinking alot about our Carmichael Thiots this week with that huge storm that headed right there way.  Miss Keelie's school was cancelled on Thursday just in case things got really scary and dangerous. What a smart school district.  I'm glad to report, they did not float away and all is well.  The rivers are a bit higher, not as high as they would like with all the drought they have experienced, but they will take what they got and smile.  Weather is a crazy thing and sure helps us realize how dependant we are on our Heavenly Father.  I'm so grateful he kept you all safe.  Keelie and I had a fun afternoon this week.  We sewed a skirt together, not just any skirt, but a royal purple dancing/twiriling skirt.  We talked and giggled and Keelie even played the piano for me while we sewed.  Only one thing would have made it perfect, and that is if she had really been right in  my sewing room with me.  What fun!  Callum we need a project together soon.:)

Does this little angel look comfortable or what?  Oh how I love babies in Christmas PJ's all cozy and cuddly.  I love this photo you sent Stacy,  thank you for capturing those sugar plum dreams of Miss Adelaide.  Pierce got a message on Tuesday morning that he needed to be packed and on a plane later that afternoon for Chicago.  He had  quick tripper and was home the next night.   Oh to be young and flexible.  What a great man you are PJ!  Stacy had a Christmas Miracle this week.  She and a friend took their babies to the beach and when she got ready to come home, her phone was missing.  Now that was a scary feeling as phones are really valuable and contain so much of our information, picutres, etc, that it was way important that she find it.  She called me hoping to have Dick do a search on it, he was out of town and while I was writing down a contact number to have Dick call, her friend found her phone.  HAPPY Day, Prayers Anwered.  Thank heaven for Christmas Miracles!

You may think you are looking at a tree from the Festival of Trees, but nope, this is Sky and Kara's beautiful tree this year.  I'm so happy for them and I'm so glad we got a sneak peek at it through the window last night.  GORGEOUS!  Sky and Kara took me to lunch on Friday.  Its so fun to have them working so close by the temple that we can meet up.  What a fun tradition this is going to become.  Thanks you two!  They also brought their brand new camera with us on our adventure on Saturday night and it was like having the paparazzi along as they were snapping photos all evening trying out different settings and all sorts of fun.  Can't wait to see them.  The girls always love having Uncle Sky and Aunt Kara with us.

Here I am with my siblings in 1964. Can you tell which is me?
We Plano Thiots
Early Monday morning, and I mean early, 4:00 early, I took Dick to the airport.  He was on his way to Salt Lake for the week and I  had extra things for him to deliver for me in Utah.  He told me once that he doesn't mind being my mule and always taking things back and forth for me.  I love you Dick, you are a fine Mule.  My siblings and I had decided in stead of exchanging gifts we wanted to jointly do something for someone else.  We picked a family to do the 12 days of Christmas for.  As I couldn't attend the shopping and assembly portion of the activity, I got to be the poem writer and tag maker and feel a part of it that way.  I can't even tell you what a sweet Christmas spirit this activity brought to my heart even from 1200 miles away.  Dick did a good job of transporting my stuff and it all turned out nicely.  I hope this sweet family can feel this extra dose of Christmas love during this challenging time in their lives.
Each day this week something wonderful has happened.  Please feel free to skip over this silly list, but I want to remember them.  I bought a gingerbread house that has 25 little doors on it and in each little cubby I have put these memories.
December 7: Invite Nick over to dinner and watch the Christmas Devotional with him with a slice of razzleberry pie alamode
December 8: Take Dick to the airport and participate in the twelve days of Christmas with my sibblisiblings
December 9: Have the Missionaries over for Dinner along with Sister Higbee and Miss Jett and Adam Martin.  Fun night
Image

December 10: Have Pamela and Miles over to watch Miles do his part for his Christmas program that I couldn't attend.  we had such fun reading Santa Mouse written by Michael Brown, (thanks Uncle Mike) and doing a Manger Craft.  drop off Christmas PJ's in Frisco for Christensens and pick up Ricky and Becky at the airport.
Decmeber 11: Go Visiting Teaching and take a christmas tree balloon to the hospital for Sister DuBois. She LOVED it.
December 12: Go to the Temple and out to lunch with Sky and Kara
December 13: Go to Bethlehem with our BIG Family, as many as could come.  There were 15 of us there and and a million people there.  I often like to not be in such a big crowd, but it was a real feeling of what Bethlehem must have been like the night the Christ Child was born.  There was no room in the Inn.  I'm glad we went, I'm glad we saw the star and followed it over to the stable where we from a distance, saw that sweet baby Jesus.  I loved the sheep, I loved the camels and those BIG Centurion Guards.  Mostly I loved the sweet spirit that was in Waxahachie Texas last night and being there with those who I love.  I missed Tatia's, Charlies, and Pierce's families a LOT, but so enjoyed the night.  We loved taking Nick along with us too.
December 14: Enjoy the ward choir Christmas Program and a nap!
It's been a great week.  I hope you have had a good one too.  SLY Robynn

Happy 1st Week of December

Ricky and Becky arrived in Aruba on Tuesday and have been having a wonderful time.  What a peaceful and beautiful island of paradise it is.  The girls are having so much fun with Nana Diane and as a total SURPRISE to them, Aunt Kristen flew in on Tuesday afternoon to help Nana Diane who is recovering from foot surgery.  I can't even imagine what fun that house filled with girls is having.  I got to pick the girls up from school on Tuesday so Diane could pick up the surprise guest at the airport and I was wishing I could stay the week too. Ricky and Becky are due home on Wednesday night. Party on Girls!!!!

It's been a fun week in C-Ville.  Tatia, Penny, and Max are enjoying the daily Christmas activities. They've cut out snowflakes one day, baked gingersnaps on another, and a favorite was making a s yummy breakfast for daddy on Saturday. It was Pumpkin French Toast. Yummy!  When I visit on the phone with Penny, often she asks if we can do a project.  On Monday, a project we did.  Together with her on face time, sitting on my sewing machine table, we sewed her a twirling skirt.  We giggled and had such fun just like if she had really been in my sewing room with me. I LOVED it and Penny was to happy when it arrived in the mail two days later.  She sent me a video of her twirling.  too cute!

Our Carmichael Thiots
Now Miss Keelie and I need to coordinate our schedules to have a sewing session and make her a dancing skirt too.  She's a purple girl like our Addison so this is going to be fun.  Charlie had a kind of a crummy day on Wednesday.  On his way to work, he was stopped at a red light and another driver was changing lanes and misjudged and ran into Charlie.  I'm so grateful he wasn't hurt and I'm glad cars a fixable.  So sorry Charlie!  We are hoping your week improved after that misadventure.

There is something so sweet about a little girl who loves babies. Oh  my goodness, this picture just warms my heart.  Partly because my mom chooses that sweet doll for Lady and partly because I am so crazy about Lady. She is such a dear little girl and I wish I could wrap my arms around her a hug her just like she is hugging this sweet dolly.  Grammy loves you Lady bug!

I had the funnest lunch date on Friday after my shift at the temple.  Sky's office is close by the temple and it was so fun to go snatch him up and take him to What a burger for lunch.  I loved it and we hope to make it a tradition a couple of times a  month.  Yahoo! Now I need to explain this picture of the Santa Claus, Nana and Sleeping baby girl.  This was Christmas eve in 1992.  Santa is Kara's sister Lauren and her Nana is holding her.  I loved seeing her at only 9 months old.  What a darling little baby girl with her pink binky in her mouth. Sooo Cute!

What a week this has been. I don't think I have stopped very much.  Each day has been filled to the brim with goodness.  I am tired but happy. I was just looking at my blog and noticed that on Sunday when it was time to leave for church, I stopped and never got back to complete my part of the Thiot Times.
Image

It was a good week and we did pack in plenty of good things to do.  One of my favorites was on Saturday.  Dick and I attended the baptism for a sweet little girl in our ward named Tessa.  I had such fun making a little baptism doll for her like my mom had made for all her little great granddaughters.  It was a lovely service.

Later in the day we made a mad dash to Sams' Club and then up to Allen for this lovely Creche Display. There were 100's of  nativity scenes displayed so magnificently.  I LOVED it and wished I had taken all of you with me to see it. What a spirit of Christmas was there. Thank you Dick for taking me.
Image

Dick got our Christmas lights put up in our yard and our home looks so pretty.  Thank you again!

Later Saturday night we went to pick up Dick's new Christmas suit and took this sweet selfee in front of the beautiful Christmas decorations there.  What fun!  I hope you've enjoyed your first week of December.  Sure love you, Robynn
