Our Mansfield Thiots
Monday morning, Dick and I headed to Mansfield for our First Grandparents Day at Brooklyn and Addison's Martha Reid Elementary, home of the Dinosaurs. We stopped by Chick fil A for some sack lunches and arrived in time to have a nice visit with the PTA President who is also Ricky and Becky's neighbor across the street. We had a fun lunch with Brooklyn. There weren't too many grandparents that came in the 4th Grade. We were glad we were there. In 2nd Grade, an hour later, there were LOTS of Grandparents and it was fun having lunch with Addison. What fun granddaughters we have, I'm so glad Dick was able to come too. We both loved it. We stopped by their home afterwards to drop off their left overs and loved seeing Becky and got to give Harper a hug with her darling lammy bandaid on her forehead. She doesn't have school on Monday, she is a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday school girl so it was great to see her too.
Our Charlottesville Granges
Monday morning Tatia was the Parent Helper in Max's school class. Oscar got to play at a friends house while Max and Tatia went to school. Tatia was way impressed with how Max follows directions and plays nicely with the other students. She loved being there to watch him and help the teachers. I love how Max's preschool lets moms come and be involved too. Penny celebrated Dot Day on Friday and loved getting to dress up in Dots. Peter Reynolds, a wonderful author and artist, asked us to all celebrate Dot Day on September 15th ISH. It's a fun way to learn about his wonderful contribution to art and of course, Miss Penny LOVED it. Oscar is counting down one more week until he is an official member of the Nursery Class at church. It will be wonderful having Max in class to to welcome him in and help him feel comfortable. That boy is ready for Nursery. It's hard sitting still for 3 hours of church and he is ready to play toys and have snack. The Granges enjoyed dinner at Burger King on Friday night for Grandpa Great's 88th Birthday!

Our Carmichael Thiots
Keelie worked hard on her Keelie Poster. I LOVE how it turned out. Way to go Keelie! This was the week of the Great Race in Carmichael for Callum and Keelie. They both did even better than they had hoped they would do and Charlie was able to sneak out of work and attend the race and cheer them on. What a fun fundraiser for the kids to participate in and feel like they really helped to make a difference in raising funds for the school. Run Keelie and Run Callum. You are great runners and winners! Charlie was able to participate in Grandpa's Burger King 88th Birthday Celebration late on Friday night. He figured Grandpa was already home in bed, but he was still thinking about him and wanted to celebrate with him at the Burger King.
Our L.A. Thiots
In Place of going to Burger King for Grandpa's birthday, Pierce and Adelaide went to Disneyland. When you live in LA and have a season pass, that's what you do to celebrate special days and boy did they have a great time. They remembered going to Disneyland with Grandpa Great when Adelaide was just a tiny little girl. They had a great time. A few months ago, I was at Tuesday Morning, one of my favorite stores that is right by the gal who cuts my hair, and they had these little flashlights that when you turned them on and pointed them on the ceiling, they would put a scene from Frozen on the ceiling. Adelaide loved hers but eventually it wore out. Pierce asked me if I ever saw them again to get her a couple of more as she had really enjoyed it. So I found some more and she got them this week. She was very happy when she called to thank me. I'm glad you got them Adelaide!
Our Down Town Thiots
Skyler participated in Park (ing) Day in Dallas on Friday.
ParkingDayDallas.org He designed the parking spot #LEGO PARK. He turned a parking spot into an amazing spot to come build lego blocks. It was a lot of work and Dick was a great helper in helping him set up and his buddy Mckay came and helped him during the day. Rain was forecasted for the day, but the heaven's cooperated and no rain fell, just a few bird dropping. uggggg I was so glad that Dick was part of the clean up crew and I got to go with him to see it before they took it apart. Skyler is amazing and it was a fun event. I wish our whole family could have been there to play lego together. They awarded 5 trophy's and Sky won the MOST CREATIVE. I agree, it was fun and he hopes to participate again next year. Kara and Skyler met us Friday night for Grandpa's Birthday Celebration with Cousin Pammy's family at Burger King in Plano. We had a good time. During the Summer Olympics, Skyler became interested in the rowing teams. He signed up for a class at White Rock lake and has been loving it. It meets at 6:00 AM and he gets to watch the sunrise each class. What a thrill. He's loving it!

We Plano Thiots
Friday, was my dad's 88th Birthday. It's become somewhat of a tradition to hold his party at Burger King since it has a fun play ground for little kids and good food and lots of good coupons available. There were 35 family attendees in Sandy and we had 8 in Plano. It was fun to be there with Pammy's family and Sky and Kara. We loved playing the Bingo game and remembering dad's old cars. Good Times! With Tatia's help, I made Dad a BYU Pillow for his birthday. Thanks Tatia!
On Saturday, Dick, Ben, Skyler and Kara went to the Consumer Electronic Convention that was in Dallas this weekend. There were a lot of Gadgets and Gizmos a plenty. They enjoyed looking at them all and making a wish list. Ben scored some tickets and invited Dick and our Down Town Thiots to go along.
This week has really gone quickly. Tuesday night, I was lucky enough to get to take dinner to a group of women who live at Hopes Door. For the past 20 years our Relief Society has taken dinner there on the second Tuesday of each month. We get to sign up and if you are lucky you get two turns a year. I love to be able to do that. I'm so grateful there is a place where women in need of safety can go and be cared for until they can get back on their feet. I made breadsticks for my assignment and oh my goodness, my house smelled so good. I'm not sure why they can't bottle the smell of bread baking. It would be a lovely air freshener or candle. My sister Laurie and her daughter Krista make the best breadsticks. When I see photos of them from family dinners there is always a huge stack of them. When I called Krista to get the recipe she told me it was Gram's recipe that she had gotten from the newspaper many years ago from Elder Neal A. Maxwell. His recipe had a T of malted milk powder when she never had and left out but let me tell you, they are yummy. I hope those sweet women enjoyed them. I got to go Visiting Teaching on Wednesday and have my Visiting Teacher come to me. What an inspired program Visiting Teaching is. I love having mine come and I love going to other sisters home to bring them love and a treat and a sweet message from our General Relief Society President.
Saturday morning was Super Saturday in our Relief Society. I signed up to make 3 little pumpkins which turned out super cute. I was thinking about my mom while I was there. At first my project was not turning out quite right and I thought, if mom was here she would have said how fun this was and how much she loved doing it and how she appreciated the sister who went to all the work to make the kits. I changed my thoughts and started enjoying it a lot more, It was fun and I love my mom and the wise woman she was and how she taught me to be better too. I hope you all have had a good week, learned some or remembered some lessons you've been taught and most of all that you know how much I love you. SLY Robynn
