Happy Birthday Dick Thiot!  Every few years, something wonderful happens and that is when May 13th, Dick's birthday, falls on Mothers Day.  We both lay in bed and say, are  you fixing me breakfast in bed?  This year, Dick decided that we would celebrate both events on Friday night with our Texas kids.  We met up in Irving which is kind of half way for all of us at the Outback. We pretended that we had gone to Australia and had a wonderful, time.  The food was good, but the Company was even better and the entertainment was supreme.  A man named Glen Hawkes was there and he makes Baloonimals.  What fun it was to have him visit our table and make an animal for each of the grandkids and a special birthday hat for the birthday boy.  We had a great time.

On Saturday, Dick and Ricky played in the Plano Stake Golf Tournament.  They placed 2nd which was close to last years first place finish.  They were thrilled with the box of Cereal for champions they won!

This is one of my favorite pictures of me and my mom.  I love that she was holding onto my hand.  I can still feel her holding my hand on hard days or standing close by when I'm trying to do something difficult.  I love you mom and miss you every day. Thanks for teaching me how to be a mom and how to love children and Grandchildren.  You are a great example.

This is Becky and her three daughters.  I LOVE how Harper, who is youngest, is standing on the fireplace hearth looking like the tallest.  Who knows, she may well grow up to be the tallest.  I love these four.  What a great mother you are Becky.  Happy Mothers Day!

Here is Tatia and her four little ones.  She is a great mama too and I love watching her kind and patient ways teaching these four what they need to know.  Happy Mothers Day Tatia!

I love this picture of Mackenzie and her two littles.  What a fun mom she is.  Callum and Keelie are blessed to have her in their lives. Happy Mothers Day!

This is Stacy who is such a sweet mommy.  She loves babies and is so good with little children.  Happy Mothers Day Stacy!

This picture is several months old, but I love the way Kara is looking at sweet Elinor.  You can just tell Elie has her mommy wrapped around her finger.  Happy Mothers Day Kara!

And I wanted to wish a Happy Mothers Day to Dick's sweet angel Mother.  How blessed we all are to have her watching over us from heaven above.  I'm sure she  must love watching all her Grandchildren who are now parents to her 12 great grandchildren.  I bet she wishes she could take them shoe shopping.  How we miss you Mom Mom and how we love you!  Happy Mothers Day!

There is one more special person I want to wish a special Mothers day too.  It's my baby sister Lani who is a very special person to her nieces and nephews and all her grand ones too.  She has always been a special part of their lives and has been at everybody's special occasions.  She is very loved.  Happy Mothers Day to you Lani!  I love this photo with Miss Libbie Jane and you!

Sharon Eubanks posted this on LDS.org yesterday about Mothers Day.
"I truly feel sorry for men on Mother’s Day. This holiday—meant to honor and celebrate—is more often an emotional and spiritual minefield for almost everyone: Women who have no children, or who wanted more children, or maybe different children. Women who feel they are failing, or that someone failed them, or that failure is around the corner. Women who wished they were free to mother, or feel cut off from their mothers, or never had the mother they wanted, or can’t be the mother they want to be. Sometimes it seems like there is no way to win here. Here is the rest of her article. "https://www.lds.org/blog/the-idea-of-mothers-in-zion-made-me-maduntil-i-learned-what-it-meant?lang=eng
I hope this will be an extra special day for you today.  Know you are loved! SLY Robynn

Our Week in Charlottesville

Image

Tatia invited Dick and I to come to Charlottesville for Miss Penny's birthday last week.  I wasn't sure I would be very much fun as I have not been feeling much like my self since my dad died.  Dick convinced me that we needed to go and he was right.  It was so good to be there and be surrounded by those sweet Charlottesville Granges.  We loved getting to spend so much time together. Dick stayed from Tuesday -Friday morning and I got to stay until the next Tuesday.  We packed as much fun in as we possible could.

I loved getting to walk Miss Penny to the bus stop on her birthday.  We got to also go at lunch time and deliver the beautiful cupcakes she and her friend and her mom made with Unicorns on top

Dick and I traded Tatia and Jake Anniversarys on May 3rd.  I told them we could celebrate on May 24th there day and they could have a date on May 3rd and we could tend.  We took the kids to BODO's Bagels and came home and watched Peter Rabbit.  What a fun night.  We got in a little trouble as bedtime was delayed a "HARE". Tatia and Jake found a fun burger place in downtown Charlottesville and dined out side.  They walked through three of their favorite bookstores and had a lovely evening together.

When I flew home, we flew right over down town.  I think I saw Skyler and Elinor waving at me.  I loved seeing the shadow of my plane on the ground below me.  I LOVE window seats.
We loved being in Charlottesville and it was truly good for me to be there. I'm starting to feel like me again and that's a very good thing.  SLY Robynn
