Where do you begin? Let’s begin with the national spotlight that was focused upon Tennessee in general and Belmont University in particular. Tuesday’s presidential debate clearly took Belmont University to the next level as it played host to two presidential candidates and three thousand members of the media.
The hospitality extended to the working press was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment the TJ News team arrived until we headed back to Jackson, every need we had was addressed at once, in a timely, professional and courteous manner.Special thanks to Diana Kidd, Controller of Belmont University, for heading us in the right direction in September in getting our press credentials! To every volunteer, staff assistant, chef in the hospitality tent, thanks very much indeed.
Mike Slater and I worked from the moment we got past security Tuesday morning at 5AM until we left for Jackson, pausing only to grab food from the hospitality tent. With hard work comes rewards, and the opportunity to cover an event of this magnitude is rare….
