ImageI am not sure what happened here. The picture was on my camera when I put the pictures on the computer.
ImageLandry finds the funniest places to sit and do things. Why not sit by the garage door and eat a cookie? Addie and Landry have become really close over the last couple of weeks.
ImageMerry Christmas!

ImageAddie was an angel in the live nativity at our Stake Creche Festival.
ImageKolby was a wise man. They only had to participate for about twenty minutes. All of the kids were ready to be done when the time was up.
ImageThis is Kolby with his Scout troop. Tyler and I are the Den leaders. They are eating the outdoor meal that they had to plan and cook.
ImageThese pictures are for those of you who have visited my bonus room. I finally cleaned it!! It took about ten hours, several new storage bins and a decent DI donation but it is finally clean.
ImageI know it is hard to believe. The pictures are for proof and in case it doesn't happen for another eight months.
ImageThis is Addie at preschool after her really short Christmas program. I did not expect it to be under three minutes so I missed my chance to take a picture during the performance.
ImageTyler did not think it was safe to put Christmas lights on our house. However, he came around after the word wuss was tossed around. He acknowledged that he has done many stupid things when challenged like that. I know... it was all part of my evil plan to get my Christmas lights up!!

Happy Thanksgiving!
ImageWe had Thanksgiving dinner in Logan with Tyler's family. These pictures are courtesy of Tyler's Dad. I sliced my finger open on a can of cranberry sauce right before dinner so I was not in the picture taking mood.
ImageCan you see that I am elevating my finger in an attempt to get the bleeding and throbbing to stop? I can't get my finger wet for ten days which is quite difficult for a compulsive hand washer!
ImageOur trip was cut short because we had to come back early to Cedar City for a funeral. As usual, nobody got any sleep and everyone was sick. The injury, trips to the DR and the tetanus shot made things even better.
ImageWe spent some time in North Ogden as well. It was fun going to pie night, doing karaoke and riding on Pop's train.
ImageThe kids liked making ginger bread houses and playing with their cousins. Kolby also enjoyed playing basketball with his uncles.
ImageWe are moving into a new church building the beginning of January. Can anyone from the old (and original) Everson Ward primary presidency think of anything I need to request for the new building. They told me to ask for what I need now. I can't think of anything except nursery toys and I found out that we are taking the current toys with us. I am soliciting advice from those who have been there and done that.

I am not very creative so I had to share the most creative idea I have had in a long time. It will show my lack of creativity because it is not that creative. I fixed the kids Spiderman macaroni and cheese and told them it was Halloween macaroni and cheese. The Spiderman heads are skulls, the houses are haunted houses and the spiders and webs - no explanation needed. Happy Halloween!

ImageKolby's school Halloween carnival was on Thursday night.
ImageIt was a great carnival and Kolby got a lot of compliments on his Harry Potter costume. He has read the first three Harry Potter books. He is mad because I won't let him continue with the series until he is older. He thinks that I need to ask people who have actually read the books (I have not read the books) if book four would be too scary for him to read. What do all you Harry Potter fans think?
ImageLandry enjoying some fountains at the town square in St. George.
ImageLandry had a rough week. He could not stop injuring himself! First, he ran into a glass table at the neighbors and got a cut under his left eye. He did a face plant and injured his nose. The next day he did another face plant off of the curb and got a cut under his right eye and a bump and bruise on his forehead. He also got a cut in the center of his forehead. I have no idea how that one happened.
ImageAddie and Landry went to a Halloween carnival on Thursday morning for the church play group. They had a lot of fun Halloween games and a yummy lunch. It was a cute activity. I did find out that Landry is terrified of sock puppets.
ImageLandry was terrified of his lion costume. His fear amused me so much that I used to chase him around with the costume. Luckily, he reluctantly agreed to put it on for the carnival.
ImageAddie really enjoyed herself at Kolby's school Halloween carnival. She loved getting her face, hair and nails painted. Addie told Kolby that his school is awesome.
ImageNo, I don't know what they were thinking.
ImageLandry wanted his picture taken. So he found a good location, posed and waited for the photographer.
ImageAddie does a great job feeding Landry.
ImageLast Monday, school was out for the opening of the deer hunt. Pull yourselves together... I know it is pretty funny. My friend Jean just sent me one of those, "You might be a 'Utahn'"‏ things. Two of the identifying characteristics were:
schools stay open, even if two feet of snow falls over night, but
closes for the opening of hunting season and
your kids believe the deer hunt is a national holiday.
I took the kids to the dinosaur track museum in St. George for something fun to do since they were out of school. That is a real dinosaur track they are standing in front of.
ImageAfter we went to the museum we went and had a tour of the St. George tabernacle. It was very interesting. We have enjoyed 70 plus degree weather all week except Monday. That made it a good day to go to St. George so we could get our 70 degree fix there. What a great fall!

Image Addie and Landry at the Pumpkin Patch.
ImageLandry getting ready to go to church.
ImageKolby found this snake.
ImageAddie fell in love with it. She played with it for hours. She begged to keep it as her pet. I said no. She gave it a kiss goodbye when I finally forced her to come inside.
ImageLandry liked the snake as well. He held it for a little bit before he decided to throw it. Landry was not against the snake. He just throws EVERYTHING!

ImageSoccer season came to an end today. Kolby even scored a goal this season. It was very exciting.
ImageThe last game of the season was supposed to be last Saturday. There was a big rain storm and it was rescheduled for today. Kolby had a dentist appointment scheduled for 3:30 and the game was at 4:30. He needed two teeth extracted for orthodontic purposes. He insisted on playing in the game. I was opposed to the idea but I lost the fight.
ImageThis is what I like to call the scooter gang. A bunch of kids from our street ride their scooters to school every day together. I think that it is very cute. Kolby loves riding his scooter to school.
ImageYeah! It is season premier week. I have been waiting for this all summer. I know that you are all as excited as I am.

ImageBedtime=Funtime
ImageKitchen counter tops before (black marble tile - ughhh)
ImageKitchen counter tops after (the wall still needs to be painted - obviously)
ImageYes... we were egged. Luckily they were amateurs and I broke more eggs cleaning up then they did doing the egging. I did have to throw away my cute door mat. There were over two dozen eggs. Luckily, there were no eggs that got on the door or house.
ImageLandry has started spending plenty of time in time out for hitting. We tried to curbed the behavior other ways but it was just getting worse. The last resort was the time out chair. He is our first child to actually stay in the time out chair.
ImageBirthday girl! Addie is 5!! We went to Kolob Canyon in Zions National Park for part of her birthday. She also wanted to go to the Pizza Factory for dinner and to Discovery Park.
ImageLast Saturday, after going to see the last house on our Parade of Homes ticket, we decided to go and find Kolob Reservoir. The home we went to see was on top of a mountain in Cedar City. We figured we were so high up the reservoir could not be far away. We were very wrong. Many, many, miles (something like 40 miles) later on roads that were mostly dirt we found the reservoir. We were actually surprised that the mean green machine made it there. Those roads were not meant for mini vans. On our way home we found the paved rode to the reservoir. We had no idea that there was an easier way to our destination. We even found a back way into Zions National Park during our adventure. So we got to see a less traveled part of Zions while we were out and about. The kids love Zions. We ended up in Virgin at a "trading post" that had a petting zoo in what was meant to be an old west town. The kids fed the hot and tired animals carrots that we bought in the "trading post". The cashier informed us that theIndians say it is going to be an early winter because all the bugs are coming inside houses already.
ImageLandry is enjoying the great outdoors.
ImageThe roads in Zion National Park are red. It is a nice change from the same old black asphalt.
ImageHere is the birthday girl in her new birthday dress. She is also wearing my Annie locket that I had when I was her age. I guess that some things are worth saving. Addie loves Annie. She got the DVD for her birthday.
ImageThere was a hot air balloon festival in Cedar City this weekend. We got up early to see the balloons launch on Friday morning. They were supposed to launch at 7 am but it was too windy. This is very disappointing after you all get up in time to be there by 7 am. Saturday morning we knew it would be too windy so we did not even try. Saturday night they were supposed to blow the balloons up for a "Saturday Night Glow". This picture is of us trying to see that. Unfortunately, it was again too windy. The balloon pilots did what they call matchsticking instead. They just light the fire on and off for like an hour. They do it really fast and at different times - so it looks pretty neat. The kids went on a blow up slide and castle while there to add to the birthday fun. For anyone who does not know... Cedar City is Festival City USA. This means we have so many different festivals one can not keep up. Tonight is Fall Fest.
ImageA word of warning: paper plates that have shiny parts in them may really be metal. If you put them in the microwave you will have a fireworks show - with the fire smell to go along with it. Addie had a rainbow cake. Rainbow on the inside and outside. Kolby got this recipe off of Zoom like two or three years ago. We have been wanting to try it for a long time. It was actually really good and it looked very cool.
ImageAddie was very excited for her birthday. She thought that she got to do anything she wanted because it was her birthday. We even let her get away with that insane idea.
