water fun

Today we went to a birthday party for a sweet friend, Kira. The boys had so much fun playing in the water. Reid just walked around to all the pools. He would hang out in one and then decide to try out another. Cade liked the pools, but he rocked out the slip and slide. He was the only kid at the party who got the slide down just right. I have a ton of pictures of Cade sliding and they all make me smile. I tried to pick a few to put here, but just couldn't decide, so you are getting a lot of pictures! Hope they make you smile, too!

just a regular afternoon

Here are a few pictures from the other day.

Reid loves looking outside for birds and airplanes. If he hears an airplane while playing he always stops to look for it. He says both very well, also. He actually says a lot well. I find myself often surprised by what he says. Yesterday I was holding him in his room and he pointed to the kitchen and said, "juice". I told him that was a good idea, we could get some juice. He immediately said, "good idea"!! He says it all the time now and it is too cute to hear.

My little catcher in his new catchers gear. My mom gave the outfit to Cade as an early birthday present. He LOVES it and takes it on and off during the day more times than I can count. He now thinks he is Pudge Rodriguez from the Astros. I even have to say, "Thank you/good job Pudge Rodriguez" when we are playing baseball.

last day of MDO

Cade and Reid had their last day of MDO on the 14th. The older kids had water day to celebrate. Cade loved it. He kept doing this belly buster type jump into the baby pool. I don't know what he was doing, but it looked painful. I convinced Cade to try out the slip and slide and after a few times down he finally figured out what to do. Too bad it was time to go in because I think he would have really enjoyed playing on it more.

This is the best shot I could get of Cade. He was much too occupied to stop and take pictures!

This is how you do the slip and slide!

Cade has never been a fan of any kind of popsicle. I thought I would have him try again to see if he would like it this year. You can see how much he liked it!

We are going to miss going to school this summer. Cade did so well this year and is a totally different kid than when he started the year. His teachers helped teach him more than his letters and colors this year. They taught him about Jesus and showed Cade His love every day we were there. Reid also had a great year. It's hard to believe he was only 6 months when we started! I loved picking him up and hearing the new and fun things he had done. I am so thankful for great teachers and pray that next year goes just as well as this one did.

Astros game 5-8-09

Matt and I took the boys to the Astros game on the 8th. We got to the game early so Cade could watch batting practice. I am so glad we did because he loved it so much. He stood and watched the other team hit and watched as all the Astros come out to stretch and get ready for the game. Even though our seats were way up high, we were able to stay on the lower level to watch the game. It was pretty empty that night. The boys loved being close to all the action. Cade still talks about the game and we are already looking into when we can take him again. Even though Reid did great, I think we will take just Cade next time.

lake fun

I know it's been way too long since I have updated the blog. The end of Mom's Day Out was a bit crazier than I thought it would be! I had an amazing year this year and it couldn't have ended on a better note. On the last day one of my students told me that she accepted Christ. I couldn't have asked for a better ending to the year! I thought that I would have a ton of time when MDO ended, but now my focus is on planning for VBS and getting our house ready to sell. We love our house, but we have just outgrown it. So, with everything going on I will try and update the blog when I get a chance.
Here are some pictures from our fun weekend at the lake (none are edited....sorry!) We went out to lake Conroe with the Meers for my birthday weekend. We always have a great time at the lake!

Cade did better this year. Last year he cried because he didn't like the wind in his eyes. This year we put sunglasses on him. He only rode this once, but at least he didn't come back crying!
Image
Reid loved riding. He rode twice and fell asleep on the ride both times!
Image
Alan decided to go out for a spin. The water was a little chilly so he thought he would be smart and take off from the deck.....
Image
it didn't work! He said the water wasn't as bad as he thought, though!
Image
He got up the next time and thought he would come show off a bit.

I love fishing and hate that I don't get to do it more often. I always try to fish for a little bit when we get to go out to the lake. I didn't catch a fish this time, but Jennifer caught a good one! Reid liked fishing as well. He loved casting and reeling the line in. This is a picture of Jenn's fish.

Thank you Meers for taking us to the lake with you! We loved getting away and having fun with you guys!
