Cade the pitcher

Here is Cade doing a few pitches for you. If you aren't familiar with the Astros players you won't really get it, though. Cade has picked up the mannerisms of so many of the players. He bats like Berkman, Tejada and Matsui and can throw like Valverde and Roy Oswalt. Here are the 2 pitchers for you.

The Valverde pitch:

notice the deep breath, grabbing the "dirt" and then the way he pitches

The Roy O:

notice the look back to first, the nod for the pitch (reading the signs from the catcher), and the pitch

this kid is something. We are always playing ball!

new loves

Cade has discovered that he really likes cooking. If he hears me cooking in the kitchen he comes running. Reid is usually not far behind. We have had fun making cookies, rice krispy treats and brownies so far!

Image
Reid's not so new love is eating. He doesn't like help with the spoon anymore, so we often have some pretty big messes. I walked out of the kitchen for a minute when the boys were eating lunch one day and this is what I came back to.
Image Nice, huh. At least it wasn't all in his hair like the syrup was a few days later!

First Day of School

The boys started Mom's Day Out on the 1st. Cade was a little unsure of everything the first week, but he now begs to go to school. He has wonderful teachers who make learning so much fun. Reid does well at school also. His teachers love him very much and it shows. I still work in the 4 year old class. I am blessed to say that I really love my job. I have an awesome teaching partner and 2 great partner 4 year old teachers. It is such a joy to be able to have the opportunity to teach the kids academics and Bible all at the same time. I think all 3 of us will have a great year!

our new house

On August 18th Matt and I closed on our new house. We were very excited to find a great house at such a great deal. It had everything we wanted in a house and more. It has taken quite a bit of work, but it is finally starting to feel like home.

more randomness

We had a play date about a month ago with some of my work friends from when I was at Goodson Middle School. I just loved these pictures and had to share them!

I have no idea what they were talking about, but apparently they were having a great conversation.

Reid leaned up against the brick wall and I couldn't resist a picture

TJ turned 20, yes 2o on August 5th. We had fun celebrating at Spring Creek.
Image
We took a trip out to Blue Bell not long after Tiffany moved back from Colorado. She had been looking forward to that trip for a long time!

Finally, here is a fun picture of Reid. He is such a silly kid. He likes to hide in the pantry. It's fitting since he loves to eat.

Tonya's bridal portraits

My good friend's sister got married in Jamaica a few weeks ago and asked me if I would take a few bridal portraits before she went. I had so much fun following her around to some gorgeous spots around town and taking pictures. Tonya was a beautiful bride. I wish my photography skills were better/had better lenses, but I had a blast playing around!

the beginning of the updates

Ok, so I know it's been forever since I have updated this thing. So much has gone on, too! We moved out of our first home, lived with my parents for a month and are now mostly settled in our new house. Mom's Day Out has also started back up. The boys are loving their classes and I am having a great time with the 4 year olds.
Here is my best attempt at catching up. It will take a few posts, but hopefully I will get back on track soon!

We had fun playing in the pool while at Mimi's house. Cade is a pro at jumping off the diving board and Reid decided he wanted to jump off also!
Image
Cade jumps off and swims to the side all by himself...with floaties on of course!
Image
The boys had fun when Zach would come over to the house. Zach is the catcher and Cade is using the broom as a bat. Nice, huh.
Image
I got to take Cade to Minute Maid Park one afternoon for the Astros Buddies Club party. He had a blast!
He got to sit in the dugout!

stand on the field....

Image
and even get Jose Valverde's autograph! I wish Cade did get shy when he met him because he does the best pitch impersonation of Valverde. It's quite hilarious. I'll get it on video.
Image
The inflatables were a hit, of course.
Image
Cade did a virtual pitch game in the Squeeze Play area....
Image
and swung at water. Too bad it wasn't a ball because he could have hit it out of the park!
Image
We went back to the dugout one last time.
Image
That night we had tickets to the game so I went back home to get Reid and then headed back to the ballpark.
Image
Cade got Matsui's signature again.
Image
watching the game
Image
Reid did pretty well at the game...as long as there was food nearby. That kid can eat all day!
Image
The best attempt at a good picture. He thought sticking out his tongue was a good idea.
Image
And....here are a few video's for you. I love these boys. They make me laugh all the time!

Singing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game". TJ chimed in a little on this one.

My little slugger Cade. Notice the shake.
