This sweet little lady is already ONE and I can hardly believe it! She was very intrigued by her cake and quickly discovered the wonder that is cream cheese frosting. She spent so much time on the frosting that she didn't even get to the yummy strawberry lemonade cake. When she got icing all up her nose she was done and it was time to get the bath going. She had a wonderful day being doted on by her sisters and then getting to open her gifts; her first baby doll, a tea set, puzzle and some great books!! What more could a one year old ask for!?! :) Me, I was just happy to not be in labor!!
Wow. It has been a week and it is still setting in. A boy. A male. XY. A little man. It just didn't seem possible. And boy are we excited!!
Since Toby wasn't able to attend the ultrasound, we decided to have a little surprise reveal celebration for our family when he got home from work. I placed clues throughout the house that ultimately led everyone to the guest room where a little box was waiting to be opened. Inside they found blue ribbon and blue pacifiers along with the envelope that contained "proof" that our little girl club is set to welcome a boy member in February! Toby didn't even believe it at first- he thought I was playing a trick on him! As it set it the excitement built and it was an energy filled evening. We are so excited. So, so, sooo excited.
Toby needed to study the proof before he could fully believe it. Even still, it still feels surreal!
Delaney didn't quite grasp all of what was going on but she really liked the ribbon!
Rylie and Reagan were blessed by their cousin Maura and her great sewing skills this summer! She made them these super cute skirts and the girls love them. They were the immediate choice for our first day of school. Note: I think the boots were off before I even took the camera from my eye. It was only 100 degrees that day but the girls insisted that the boots were the most stylish choice. How could I disagree?
While seeking reprieve from the 100+ degree temps in the pool the other day, Delaney went from splashing and laughing to screaming in an instant. I thought sunscreen had gotten in her eye until Toby saw her and immediately asked what happened to her mouth. I looked down and there was a little stinger still stuck in her precious little lip! She was such a trooper and thankfully she didn't have an allergic reaction so it only seemed appropriate to take a picture of the swollen lip once she was feeling better!
