Oh Hello!

ImageThis boy's mama is the worst blogger in the world.
Sad.

Anyway, here is a condensed update of the Toller Fam over the past few months:

We have had a super busy summer.

ImageImageImage
Benj and I celebrated our 8 YEAR anniversary in June (GO us!), Carden is now officiallly "Free," (or 3) and had a super fun birthday party with a bounce house in the backyard, we watched about a billion firework displays, spent some lovely evenings at Lagoon, hung out with family, visited the zoo, caught some fish and even squished in an impromptu mini-camping trip.
And, as an added bonus, Carden magically decided to be potty-trained. (Thank you, Lighning McQueen panties!)

Good times!

ImageEmery started Kindergarten this week. She has been looking forward to this day and has done GREAT, thus far...the rest of us are still adjusting.

Finally, something to blog about---

It's been, what? Like 8 months since my last post? Sad. I'm going to try harder from now on.

Last week, we returned home from our much anticipated trip to DISNEYLAND. It was wonderful to get away for a few days and bask in the rain of California.

We had a bit of a rocky start to our little get-away...our afternoon flight was canceled and we had to fly out at 8:00PM--our kids' bedtime. We were quite ancy (and irritated, if you want to know the truth) BUT it all worked out. Carden and Emery were extremely excited to fly on the airplane and had a great time watching the airplanes land and take off as we waited for our airplane to come and take us away. One of the pilots from another flight noticed Carden through the window after he had landed and when he de-boarded, (not sure if that's a real word) he came up to Cardie and gave him his own set of wings . He said that he could see Carden through the window when he landed and could tell how excited he was. What a nice pilot! Made me slightly less-mad at Delta for canceling our flight. :)

Our children were miraculously quite well behaved during the fight. When we landed in Cali, the cute flight attendant handed Emery the microphone and let her announce, "Welcome to Wongbeach!' (aka Longbeach) and Ems felt pretty cool.

We loaded the car seats into our rented minivan and once the babies were strapped in, they were OUT.

Next morning, we headed to THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH, and tried not to let the rain damped our spirits. I had been checking the forecast for Anaheim five times a day for the past month. I was aware that in the middle of California's beautiful weather I had managed to schedule our vacation for the ONE weekend that there would be some serious rain. That's just my luck! No worries! We were prepared with ponchos, rain jackets and umbrellas. Despite the weather we had a wonderful time. It actually worked out very well for us. The crowds stayed away and there were almost NO LINES for us to wait in. Score!

My parents and siblings drove and met us in Disneyland for two days, and it was very nice to have them there! We enjoyed their company, and appreciated their help with the moody Pete.

Enough with my ramblings. Here are TEN MILLION pictures (In no particular order:)

Our Half-Day at the beach:

ImageEmery was in HEAVEN at Newport Beach. It was a chilly day, and we thought we'd just spend a half hour letting the kids put their feet in the sand. Emes wasn't content with looking at the water. She went crazy. She's a little beach bum like her daddy!

These couple of pictures give the impression that Carden might have been enjoying himself at the beach...not so. He screamed the entire time we were there. I'm sure some day we will look back and think it's hilarious...someday.

ImageRelaxing after a long day. I love the leg.

ImageWeird kids. I don't know where they get it.

Thank goodness for our family vacation! We had a truly amazing time and it was a much needed break from...everything. I would say I am glad to be back, BUT that would be a lie. I want to move to California. :)

It's a Cardie Party!

Guess who's officially TWO YEARS OLD! That's right, Party People! Carden had a birthday last week!

July 25th was the big day. We had a little get-together and celebrated with the fam at a near-by park. All the Grandmas and Grandpas (except for my poor father who had to work) and most of the the aunts and uncles were able to attend. (We missed ya Grandpa, Jace and Steven!) We had a marvelous time and appreciate our families coming and braving the heat to celebrate with us.

Here are a couple of pictures for your viewing pleasure:

ImageThis kid LIVES for car, trucks and trains, so you can imagine how excited he was about all of his presents.

A little ladybug hitchhiked home from the park with us. Emers was SO excited! He got to spend the night on Emery's dresser and then went "home to his children and family" the next morning.

The party didn't end when we got home from the park....all these new toys were too exciting and the kids stayed up for hours and played while Benj and I tried to stay awake.

These little party animals were having too much fun!
ImageImageThere is something truly special about my Carden! He just has such a sweet little spirit!
We love this little guy SO VERY much and can't imagine life without him.

Happy Birthday, Pete! We look forward to many, many more birthdays with ya!
