Let it snow!

Oh how I remember the days of putting on snow pants, moon boots, gloves, a coat and a hat and being entertained for hours playing in freshly fallen snow! It is so much fun to see the boys excitement as we get them ready to play in the snow. We have had a few major snowstorms and the boys have had a lot of fun. They spend hours outside and their complaints are never, "I'm too cold, I want to come in!" it's "I'm too hot please take off my coat for me." I bundled Austin up so warm that he started shedding his hat and gloves thinking it would help him cool down. It cooled his hands down just a little too much!
Now if we could just get some for Christmas.....

Disneyland

We went to Disneyland on Tuesday with our little family. The boys had so much fun, time flies by so quickly at Disneyland. We were able to walk on to most of the rides that day. We only had to wait for the Chevron cars, but that one always has a wait. I think we went on the Buzz Lightyear ride about 20 times this trip. That is the boys favorite ride, and when I say boys I also mean Tom.
We went the next day with Amy and her kids and Jeremy and Sandy and their boys on Wednesday. The kids had a great time, they love that place!

Image Here is a picture of what Max looked like on most of the rides. Eyes wide open and happy! He loved all the bright colors and sounds!

What a trip!

We ventured out on Friday November 2nd, around 5:00 and thought that would be a great time to leave because we could feed the kids dinner on our way out and then they should sleep the rest of the way. (We were only going to St. George that evening and were going to spend a few days down there with my brother and sister - in - law) Funny thing, it didn't work out that way at all - it never does. The kids fell asleep even before we got on the freeway so I told Tom to just keep driving. We made it all the way to Beaver and we fed the kids at Wendy's. We got back on the road and I started feeding Max his baby food and he had a few bites and then everything and more came back up. Without fail, I think one of the kids throws up every time we travel. Max was acting very fussy the next day so we took him into the Doctor and they said that he had a double ear infection, his first one. Of course it would come while we were traveling. We got some medicine and he seemed to feel a lot better. Amy watched the kids on Saturday night while Tom and I went to Vegas to see Phantom of the Opera. That was my second time seeing and it was even better the second time!

The next morning we left for Jeremy and Sandy's house to visit and go to Disneyland.
We stayed there Sunday and Monday. For family night Jeremy and Sandy thought it would be fun to take the boys to ride their quad. Carson and Austin loved it! Carson had his turn first - he was so excited - he gunned it and took off and people started saying, "Oh no, he doesn't know how to stop!" I immediately started to panic, so I start yelling at Tom to go after him, so he starts sprinting as fast as he can and yelling as loud as he can for Carson to stop. I see a road in the distance and I just imagine Carson not being able to stop at that road. After about 20 seconds, he finally stops the quad. He turns around and calmly says, "Why are you running after me? I know how to stop." We all got a good laugh!

We even let Austin drive, just very very slowly

Halloween

Wow! I feel like Halloween came and went and now it's on with Christmas! Time just goes by way too quickly! The kids had a lot of fun on Halloween but it was a hectic few days. We had the ward trunk-or-treat on a Friday then on Tuesday night the Young Men and the Young Women had a little Halloween carnival for their activity and invited all the leaders children to go, so we got them dressed again. Then Wednesday (Halloween) Carson and Austin got to go to school in their costumes. I helped at Carson's school party so here I was putting the skunk costume on Max yet again! He was starting to get irritated every time I put that hat on him. We finished at Carson's school and picked Austin up from school - got home, got the kids out of their costumes and two hours later, put them on again to head down to Novell for the kids to trick-or-treat at Daddy's work. As soon as we finished there we got the boys in the car rushed home to have dinner and went trick-or-treating to a few of the neighbors. Whew!!! Now can you see why I am so glad Halloween is over? Playing Catch up!

So it has been over a month since I have posted on our family blog. This is still so new to me that when I have extra time, (very rare) I don't think, "hmmm maybe I should work on my blog." So I thought instead of letting another day go by without updating, I would stay up late when I wouldn't be distracted by anything else. I will be playing catch up over the next few days so check back for updates!

The Hawks

Carson's soccer team was called the Hawks, he practiced every Thursday for an hour and they had a game every Saturday. He really looked forward to the games, he even scored three goals this season. It was funny because this was the first season he had scored a goal in an actual game so when he finally did he didn't know what to do. When he kicked it in everybody on his team was cheering but he just put his hands behind his head and tried hard not to smile, he was a little embarrassed. I thought that was cute.Image

Image One of him kicking the ball!
We signed Carson up for soccer this year and I am so glad that we did. In the years past he has been so timid and would just run around with the kids and follow the ball. Anyway, he wouldn't really be aggressive and go after the ball at all, until this year. We are so proud of him, he really had fun this year!

My Favorite Season

I love this time of year, there is something about fall that makes me happy. I love the cool air and the leaves on the ground. It's also seems like there are so many fun things to do with the kids.Image On our way to the pumpkin patch we stopped at a park and had lunch. Carson and Austin and their cousins had a great time playing in the leaves!

Image Here the kids are on the hayride going to pick out their pumpkin!

I have to say I think I'm all pumpkin patched out, we went about 4 times! The boys had a great time though, they were a little bummed that they didn't get to pick out a pumpkin. We grew pumpkins in our backyard so we had way too many as it was! Carson was thrilled when I told him he could have one if he found one the size of a baseball (they sell those for 5 cents) the only one he could find was rotten and he couldn't have been happier! Image I love this picture of Max, we took it at the pumpkin patch. He was sitting on Carson's lap and next to Austin but they were both looking away so I cropped them out. Did you notice his orange nose? That is because he has taken a liking to squash, sweet potatoes and carrotts. We finally have him eating other things as well.

Sweet Baby Max

Image Max at 6 months

Image Max at 6 weeks

So I keep wondering, how did I get so lucky to get another easy baby? Maxwell is such a happy, little boy! I thought after two easy babies the third would surely be different but my how Max has proved that wrong. We started him on baby food at 6 months and he loves it! Anytime he sees any of us eating he thinks it's for him and grabs for it. He loves food! He is starting to sit up and he rolls all over the place. We took him to the doctor a few weeks ago for his 6 month wcc and he weighs 16 lbs (25%) and is 271/2 inches (90%). I love his fuzzy little blonde hair, I can't believe how much he has changed since he was born. He's almost 7 months old, I can't believe it!

Weekend Getaway

Image

Tom was contacted at work by a resort in Midway to purchase 2 nights and in return get 3 nights free and $200 in dining credits. It's really nice because they don't have any blackout dates so we can even go in the winter if we want. We have taken the boys up a few times and had a great time! We took the boys to dinner, then we went swimming in the very warm pool and came back to our room and watched ratatouille. The boys absolutely loved it!

Summer swimming!

I can't believe that summer is over already! How quickly time flies! We get a free pass to the AF Rec center through Tom's work so we spent a lot of time this summer swimming with the boys at the AF Rec center, the boys really had a good time. It was nice to go in the evening so Tom could come as well. The boys loved watching him do tricks off the diving board.

Image Here is Austin showing off for the camera, he is always doing something with his hands.
Image Carson really made a huge improvement in swimming this year, he took swimming lessons and finally was brave enough to venture into the deep end without floaties. He asked me to take a picture of him doing a flip. He's pretty proud of this one.
Image And he learned how to dive this year! I was telling him I didn't learn how to dive until I was 12 years old!
