Katie's First Day of School
Katie started Mom's Day Out this year. She only goes one day a week from 9-2:30. She was so excited about going to school!
Lunch Boxes ready to go!
As soon as I told her to get her lunchbox and backpack she grabbed them and headed for the door. It ended up being too heavy for her to carry both so Zach helped out. Notice she kept the lunch kit! She LOVES her food!

I'm a little bit Country
Since we came home from Colorado Zach has worn his cowboy boots and cowboy hat on occasion. Since it is incredibly hot (as in the high tomorrow is 107) I've told him he can just wear them with his shorts and he came out wearing this the other day-lovely huh!?!
Anyways, Katie LOVES shoes and realized that she didn't have any boots and was desperately trying to put on Bubba's boots each time he would take them off. So we pulled out Zach's first pair of John Deer Boots and she was one happy camper!! Here she is trying to walk in them... they are about 4-5 sizes too big, but she didn't care.

Madison & Zach's first day of school
Madison and Zach were very excited to start school today. Last night we tore off the ring of paper from the countdown calendar to confirm the day had finally come-THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!! To be very honest with you, last night didn't feel like the night before school. Well until 11:30 when Zach came in my room and said he couldn't go to sleep and needed to sleep in Daddy's spot. ;) It wasn't until this morning when I realized this year marks the beginning of an end-Madison is in 6th grade this year, and is in her 2nd and last year in Intermediate school. Zach is in his last year of pre-school. Katie will start Mom's Day out on Wednesday, and I'll be home alone-well until this new one is born, and all the sudden I became very sad. I'm not ready for this era to end. I'm so thankful for the fun we had this summer and the memories that we made-can't we just rewind (maybe with 20 degrees cooler temps.) and do it again. I'm not ready for my babies to start this chapter...

Lunch boxes halfway packed
Backpacks and teacher gifts ready to go
I've never done this before, but loved the thought of it. A gift for the teacher on the first day of school. These were for Zach's teachers. A bucket of mints-the tag said-I'm so glad you were "mint" to be my teacher
These are for Madison's 4 teachers, a jar of starbursts. The tag read-This year is going to be BURSTING with fun!
I had everything laid out to make pancakes this morning, and I was off to bed
Madison was ready to go! She was excited and nervous all at the same time. She had no problem getting out of bed this morning. The chocolate chip pancakes didn't hurt either :)

Krazy Katie
I pulled my camera out to take a picture of Zach and Katie because they were both sitting on the coffee table watching TV with the same blank Bobby expression that he does when he watches TV. Well Katie heard the flash pop up and turned around a smiled the goofiest grin. It made me laugh-she was really being silly!
Well then she knew she was funny so she thought she would get down off the table
and climb up on the chair and give me a big ol' grin. LOVE THIS!! She smiles big like this often, but when I bring the camera out she always stops smiling. FINALLY a picture of my Krazy Katie Girl. Don't you just want to kiss those cheeks!

Madison's meet the teacher
Tonight we had Madison's meet the teacher. We found out that she is advanced math. I knew she was a smart little girl! She has 4 great teachers and we are looking forward to a great 6th grade year! And again-I'm praying this year goes by very slowly as this is her last year in Intermediate school.
Here's Madison with her homeroom mom/science teacher Mrs. Smith.

Zachary meets his teacher
Zach is moving up to the 4 year old class-his last year of pre-school. I'm hoping this year goes by very slow-I'm not ready for him to be in Kindergarten yet! He will be in class with his several of his friends from last year so he was super excited. Plus he has 2 great teachers!
Zach building a robot-love that they give him lots of time to be creative! He has a HUGE imagination.
