Dear Yuletide Writer,

Argh! Apologies for the lateness of this later, it's been A Week.
Ok some general likes: case fic, hijinks and shenanigans, team as family, found family, pseudo adopting of younger teammates, kids with powers (you might have guessed), crossovers (just don't let the other fandom overwhelm the smaller one).

Things that are Not For me: Graphic sex, graphic violence, identity headcanons, no powers AUs, fic that is exclusively about a ship.

Is anyone I know going to confab con?
I'm debating going but it's always scary to go to a con where you don't know anyone.

So at the encouragment of snowflake_challenge, I'm making my first ever sticky post!

I can't tell you my last name or where I live.... OK, that was 20 years and a million fandoms ago.

Call me Tigger, I live in the upper midwest, and I've been active in fandom in one way or another since 1995 (thanks, Poly Sci professor, frosh year, for encouraging me to explore News). TL;DR I discovered I wasn't the only one who wanted to write stories about TV characters and a monster was born.

My forever fandoms are The Tomorrow People (1973) and (1992), as well as continual wandering in and out of Power Rangers fandom (my friends have all scattered to the social media winds--I keep in touch--thanks Facebook!--but we don't really talk about fandom on there. I tried to pull the cool people over to Discord, no luck. :(.)

Also Young Wizards, because the people in that fandom are amazing.

Since 2018, I have fallen deeply into Star Trek: Discovery fandom. Specifically the Culmets family. I can't tell you why I initially latched onto Stamets/Culber as a pairing, but dang I fell hard. I don't usually ship things (the last time I even attempted ship fic was for Buffy/Riley--been around awhile!), but I fell hard.

My two favorite tropes are found family and teen genius as crew of a spaceship. Hi there, Adira Tal, you're my new fave! (For those of you who have been around awhile, yes there is Adira is officially adopted fic in the works, why do you ask?)

I love to read and write gen fic (and Culmets fic as long as it's T rated. Um... yeah, I just don't care for smut ok?)

I watch a lot of other shows and love reading YA, Middle Grades, and SF (and am dipping my toe into various non-fiction for reasons) and have a comics pull list (I need to catch up on those).

Um... so yeah, that's me.

Oh, and you can often find me on Discord on Cranky Fandom Olds... being cranky or squeeing about fandom/fanfic.

I do check my Dreamwidth reading page at least once day. Sometimes I even comment. I just...forget to post. Maybe this is the year I change that.

Some general stuff: I really love found family, friendship fic, hijinks, case fic, special powers (if you hadn't guessed from my fandoms!), teens that are Too Bright for Their Own Good (my money is on Daniel), platonic affection, extremely competent characters doing their thing (think Leverage the show as competence porn).

Things I don't much like: sex, violence, other people's identity headcanons (pause for irony, RE: Lower Decks request), stories that are basically romance as the plot, plots that can be resolved if the characters would just talk to each other! I'm also not a big fan of modern AUs, coffee shop AUs and the like. (AUs that are "what if something else happened in canon" are fun and I adore them.

The Tomorrow People in general--I've been a fan since I was very little, having watched it on Nickelodeon. I wrote a love letter to the fandom in 2013 that I am unlikely to top, so I won't try.

In which Tigger is glad there are No Deadlines.

So, goals for the coming year:
1) Get into a regular exercise routine. Even if it's only once or twice a week.

2) Edit and post at least 2 fics from Nano2021 (I did a bunch of shorter things). Yes, the Adoption fic which spans camp and nano and you've been editing since 2021 counts. (If you know my PR fic and watch ST: Disco, yes, it's exactly what you're thinking).

3) Update Dreamwidth... let's go with "sometime after Snowflake and before Yuletide". Sunshine challenge counts, but ideally just to update.

4) Have Star Trek collages done before the night before the con. Come on, it's probably only two :)

5) Survive. No, seriously, given *waves at world* I think that's a pretty decent goal. Plague year 3 should have a low bar, no?

I'm alive! I just... forget to update my Dreamwidth until Yuletide rolls around. So... yup, here we go again. :)
