Wednesday Morning started early trying to find your flight so we could track you.
Flight to South Carolina Columbia, flying into the storm
Parents, this is the latest update we have sent to all of our missionaries. Everyone has been evacuated without any problems, so we are just waiting and watching at this point.
September 4, 2019
Elders and Sisters,
Hurricane Dorian is finally headed our way, so now is the time to be prepared and precise in your obedience to any instructions you receive. The storm has lessened in strength somewhat but has grown in size which means that more of South Carolina may be affected. It is moving up the Florida coast and will hit the southern parts of our mission later this evening. This is mostly a coastal event unless the storm path moves west and makes landfall. Except along the coast, we expect there to be more rain than wind, but both are possible, so be prepared. Currently, Charleston looks like it might get the most rain and wind with 5-10 inches expected. Myrtle Beach and Shallotte will also experience high winds and rain with up to 8 inches expected there.
Orangeburg, Sumter and the Florence area will experience tropical storm conditions with wind gusts to 50 mph and up to 4 inches of rain as the day progresses on Thursday. Columbia and the midlands will experience minimal rainfall with less than an inch expected, but there could be high winds. Greenville should be mostly unaffected. With that being said, hurricanes are very unpredictable, so be vigilant and look and listen for updates on your e-mail or text or with a phone call.
Except for the Greenville Zones, we will all be on lock down from Wednesday night through Thursday except for the departing missionaries going to the temple Thursday morning. That means that everyone is in the apartment they have been assigned to. No exceptions without mission president approval. I will monitor things throughout the day and let you know, area by area, when the lock down is lifted. You will be notified when it is safe to go back to your area.
Keep your gas tanks full and your phone batteries charged. We will be doing frequent checks during lock down to see what conditions are like and that all is well. Please be ready to respond quickly. Also, know where the closest member is to you and how to contact the Bishop if for some reason you cannot contact your mission leader.
Once you are cleared to return to your area, remember NEVER drive through standing water. It may be deeper than you think because the road has been washed out. There may also be downed power lines touching the water, and that would create a deadly situation. Be extremely careful for the next several weeks, especially in the areas along the coast. Be diligent and vigilant and listen to the promptings of the Spirit. Heavenly Father will watch out for us if we do our part.
If you have any concerns or questions, call your Zone Leaders and keep praying for our mission and our missionaries.

Britton was part of the play program again this year.

Relaxing with the bishop.
Miriah has started voice again.
This quote was on the wall, in the Julie Andrews room where Alli is teaching this year.
"Amateurs practice till they get it right;
professionals practice till it can't go wrong"
Friday Night Lights football at Lone Peak. Britton had a great game.
After one of his bigs plays the coach rushed to tell him great job and be excited for him.
Baker is the cutest baby in the world.
He watched like he knew what was going on.
The sunset was amazing for a warm fall night of football.
The score was 28 -22
Miriah's game was long and hot. Their team won their first game.
I couldn't get a good picture of her cheering since the girl next to always
had her hand in Miriahs face.
So this new site I have been listing too is so awesome. I used part of it for my lesson today.

This week went by pretty fast, I hope it did for you too. We do the same things every day. I have watched Pres Nelson's 95 birthday celebration 3 times I love the music from it. I wondered if they would let the missionaries watch it. He even had him playing the piano. I wish we could have gone to it. I forgot about the day when we were supposed to register for tickets.
I still don't have any real estate work yet, but I am still working on it.
I have a class tomorrow on staging so I should be home around 12:30.
We can't wait to hear all about your flight and your first meeting with your mission president, your new companion, first area? I know you will have lots to tell.
Love you!
