i've been cleaning out my sewing room, packing and getting rid of what i don't use. (have i mentioned we are moving in just a few short weeks?) i stumbled upon this quick crochet pattern that i had never tried. it's a skill level one, which is perfect for our busy days....just a simple pattern with no strain to my brain..a little something to keep my sanity. now that i've tried this pattern and can pretty much remember the basic steps, i'll toss it in the sale pile.

instead of easter baskets this year, i made these easter bags and filled them with goodies. i scored this quick and easy pattern from my mama and whipped these up late last night. my lovelies are pretty jazzed about their new "easter purses."

hello tundra!

our first picnic on the tundra of the year! dare i say, spring has sprung! patches of tundra have begun to peek out from under the layers of melting snow. this makes us all very, very happy! we are enjoying long, sunny days again as we are gaining around six minutes of day light every day.
it was the perfect day: a picnic, some sledding, a little crochet, family, and a buncha moose off in the distance.

hummus anyone?

have you ever made hummus?
i never knew how easy it is. just blend up some garbanzo beans, garlic, sesame oil or tahini, pepper, and whatever kinda flavor you want...sundried tomatoes, or roasted red peppers..or whatever you want..and that's it.. it takes only minutes and it's such a yummy snack.
