i found a skate board at a garage sale for free.

i cleaned it up a bit, scraped off the black grip tape, removed the wheels, gave it a quick sanding, then found a couple drift wood stumps, screwed them on... and there you have it...
a new bench for the yard.

fishtail qiviut scarf.

this scarf has been in my knitting basket for quite some time. i could only work on it in small doses. i really don't think lace knitting is for me.....  but folks, these fancy fishtails are finally finished!! (try saying that 5 times fast) i started it last june.. for those that might remember... and nearly 10 months later i've binded off. i am quite thrilled to be crossing this off my list of things to do.
it's a very simple lace pattern.. if you wanna try too, i found it here.

a hat for T.

i wanted to make this hat, but i only had size 8 needles, so it came out quite a bit smaller than i had hoped. i added some ear flaps and a pom pom and it's quite perfect for my lovely t.

pebble vest x 2!

with many many MANY hours with my feet up, and in the hospital while these two were cooking, i managed to stitch a little here and there. the pebble vest, found at the thrifty knitter, was one project that kept me occupied and focused at the task at hand (growing healthy babies). knit in a baby alpaca, it's soft and cozy and just right for our new sweet baby boys.

baby mits.

i was gifted a pair of these mittens for my first born....and all three of my lovelies used them. they are practical, warm, easy on, and with the string attached you never loose them! a sweet boy was turning one and i thought he might need a pair as well. i couldn't find a pattern online... so i improvised a bit and made up my own.  i wish i had wrote it down to share with you...but it was a quick knit and they were off on some little boy hands!

v-stitch cowl.

simple, classy, and quick.

if you can chain two and double crochet, you can make this cowl! i found the pattern here.... but instead of casting on 65 stitches, i only did 55 as i didn't want it to be as bulky. i used a worsted weight yarn 80% wool, 20% alpaca, with an h hook. i finished one.. and have started another in mustard. a perfect project for this now, bed resting mama.

boys and blueberry buckle.

oh how i've missed my few minutes of 'me' time here at tundra gypsy. life has been full. we are experiencing much newness and change in our lives right now. perhaps the biggest news is... i am incubating again! this time around we are expecting TWIN BOYS! a huge suprise for us and we are so thrilled and overwhelmed. we moved to the city for the durations of the pregnancy.... so we are settling into a rhythm with new schools and routines.  i finally have some time to say hello. hopefully posts won't be so sparse as these boys grow and i find it harder to move. i've got several projects on my needles i'll be happy to show you too. for now... enjoy some coffee or tea with me and try this delicious blueberry buckle!
