A Visit With Some Special People

For 10 weeks Anna Claire and Charlie were in the NICU.  We were SO incredibly blessed with the most wonderful primary  neonatologist, nurse practitioner, and nurse (as well as so many other great doctors and nurses.)  For those 70+ days, these doctors and nurses became like family.  We decided to go visit Saturday.  We got to spend time with their primary doctor, nurse practitioner, and nurse.  Here’s a picture of Anna Claire and Charlie with Dr. Marsh, Mrs. Darlene, and Mrs. Elizabeth.  We are so thankful for them and what they did for us.IMG_0341  IMG_0342

Friday Devin took them to the mall.  Notice who is awake. 🙂  One day she’ll want to go shopping with Mommy.IMG_0340

Devin’s Granny and Great-Aunt Hoss came to visit the other week. IMG_0314Also, Aunt Spencer left for college.  I have a video of the babies with her but I’m not quite sure how to upload it yet.  We’ll see…

Mommy and Daddy are both back at work now.  Anna Claire and Charlie get to spend two days a week with Mrs. Kim.  They play, swing, eat, go for walks, go to Target, get baths, and so much more.  She already has them registered for Lapsit at the library too!  I don’t have a picture to post with her yet…but I’m sure there will be some soon.

Big stuff…Anna Claire rolled over!  We really thought Charlie would be first because he has been so close, but the other night, I heard AC over the monitor.  I went into her room to find her looking up at me.  They both like to push up and are grabing at things.  IMG_0348acduckAlso…drum roll please…they BOTH slept through the night last night.  This is big!  And…we tried applesauce tonight!  It was a major success.  They are such wonderful eaters.

Last but not least, we are getting ready for college football.  Anna Claire and Charlie say…”GOOO COCKS!”IMG_0322IMG_0327

5 Month Pictures – No Fun

We decided last Monday to take Anna Claire and Charlie to have their pictures made.  We’ve only done this one other time.  The first time we went to Picture People.  I love them.  They are expensive but you definitely get what you pay for.  We will go back for sure.  Anyways, I had a bright idea to try somewhere else.  I called Portrait Innovations but they are closed on Mondays (we may try them sometime).  I called JCPenny probably 5 times and no one called me back until 4:00 that day.  I finally got someone at Sears, so we went there.  I found a really good coupon online, so it was really inexpensive.  Now to the main part of the story…Anna Claire and Charlie were in the best moods when we got there.  I was SO excited.  I just knew these were going to be great pictures!  It was our turn and we took them into the room.  First of all it was really hot.  I am a cold natured person, so if it was hot to me, then it was really hot.  The photographer set up and it was time to put them in their spots.  Then it happened.  The tears started flowing.  There was no stopping them.  We tried everything.  We even took off their clothes thinking that would make them happy (it usually works at home.)  I used to say, before I had children, that my children would be good in public.  Right!  I’m quickly learning that at this age, there’s only so much you can do.  Anyways, we only got a couple good pictures.  Here are a few.  Needless to say, I have a feeling we will be going sometime in the near future for some more pictures.  AcloseAgoodAfootCgoodCfootc1both1bothgood

We Survived!

Today Mommy went back to work.  We spent the day with Daddy and had a great time.  (We’ve got the best Daddy!)  We were really good babies but we missed Mommy.  Mommy hurried home after school and was so glad to see us.  school

Shhh…

Every night after Anna Claire and Charlie have their last bottles we put them to bed.  If they aren’t sleepy, we let them swing.  Devin laughs at me because every night I stand there and look at them sleeping and just smile because they are so amazingly WONDERFUL.  I feel so blessed!  Just thought I’d share some pictures with you of them sleeping.IMG_0290IMG_0279

Also, they turned 5 months old Friday.  We stopped by the doctor’s office to weigh them today.  Charlie is weighing in at 12 pounds 12 ounces and Anna Claire is 10 pounds 9 ounces!  This is a big increase from 2 pounds 8 ounces and 2 pounds 2 ounces!

Last but not least, tomorrow is that day I’ve been dreading…school starts.  It’s been almost six months since I’ve been in the classroom because of the babies.  I love my job, so that makes it a little better.  I am going to miss them so much, but I know they will have fun with Daddy tomorrow.  We’ll let you know how it goes.

The ZOO!!

Friday morning we decided to go to the zoo.  What a great decision!  We had a great time.  The babies were awake and happy the whole time…no crying…and they stayed in their strollers!  Here are some pictures from our trip.  We can’t wait to go back. [Oh, and the last picture is of Charlie.  When we got home, they were so hot and yucky that I gave them a bath.  Charlie was practicing standing while waiting for his bath. 🙂 ]IMG_0294IMG_0296IMG_0297IMG_0298IMG_0299IMG_0302IMG_0295IMG_0303IMG_0306
