Every night after bath Anna Claire and Charlie brush their teeth. When they finish, Devin says, “let me see your teeth.” They try to show us their teeth. This afternoon we were playing outside so I followed them with the camera. I wanted them to smile so I said, “show me your teeth.” This is what I got.

Show Me Your Teeth
After Nap
Anna Claire and Charlie take one nap each day after lunch. When they wake up they get to watch Dora or Diego on tv, drink their juice, and eat a snack. After snack they go outside to play. (I guess we’ll really have to bundle up if when the weather gets cooler.) Here are our sweet babies lounging together after nap.
Here they are playing in the sprinkler the same day.
Time after nap is so fun!
Fun Friday
We are so blessed that Devin is off of work on Fridays, so we pretty much always get a 3 day weekend. Today started with waffles for breakfast and then the kiddos helped their daddy outside. They enjoyed playing in the Jeep.
Then we headed to the park and had an early picnic lunch.
Devin was planning on buying this trailer but we thought we were going to get it next week. Well, they guy called and said we could come today. So we packed up from the park and spontaneously headed to Charlotte, NC. The little ones slept most of the way.
Here’s daddy’s new trailer.
For those of you who don’t know, Devin is originally from Charlotte so a lot of his family still lives there. We decided we would stop by and surprise his Granny. Anna Claire and Charlie had a great time…playing with toys, bubbles, and exploring. We were so glad we could visit today. As I’ve said before, I think it is pretty amazing that these two little ones know 7 of their great-grandparents!!
We headed home later this afternoon and stopped at Cracker Barrel for dinner.
When we got home the kiddos wanted to play outside, so Devin turned on the sprinkler and they had fun running through it.
The day ended with bath time and two sleepy little ones who quickly went to bed. As you can tell, we had a very busy but very fun day.
Great-grandchildren
I have grown up in an extremely close family. All of my grandparents are still living and seriously live within 5 minutes from us. My dad has 3 sisters and my mom has a sister and brother. On my dad’s side there are 10 grandchildren, 3 grandson-in-laws, and 3 great-grandchildren. On my mom’s side there are 6 grandchildren, 3 grandson-in-laws, and 2 great-grandchildren. Needless to say, if we all get together on my dad’s side of the family there are 24 people and on my mom’s there are 20. That’s just immediate family! My sister Rebekah and I are 2 years apart. We have a cousin Stormy in between us, Malorie a year younger than Rebekah, and Lauren is the same age as Rebekah…and we are all girls. Needless to say, we had a ton of fun growing up. Lauren came into town last weekend for Labor day. She has a little girl, Emily, who is 4. We had a blast taking them to the zoo with two of our cousins (yes…2 adults and 5 kids) where we rode the train, carousel, fed the birds, etc, spent some time playing at my aunt’s house (they climbed trees, played with dolls, played with balls, ran around in their huge yard..etc), and they even had a tea party one day at their great-grandparents’ house. This is something we NEVER even thought about growing up. But I have to say, these are precious times. Here’s a picture of them outside at my aunt’s house.
AND….If I haven’t mentioned it already…I’M GOING TO BE AN AUNT!! This is Baby B. My sister and Justin are expecting their first baby…a 4th great-grandchild…in March. Here he/she is. 🙂 WooHoo!!
18 months
Our precious little ones are 18 months old today. Here’s a picture of them taken today while we were playing outside.
And…in honor of their 18 months, I am going to try to think of 18 words that one or both of them say. Here we go:
1. mama
2. dada (Anna Claire says ‘daddy’)
3. ball
4. up
5. outside
6. Dora
7. Boots
8. hat
9. hey
10. bye bye
11. pa pap (for pacifier)
12. hot
13. uh-oh
14. no no
15. go
16. map
17. backpack
18. cookie
{oh my…I’m thinking of a ton more…(I’m going to write them just so I remember)…cracker, juice, cup, boop [for book], duck, they can say several people’s names, shoe, baby…and I’m sure there are many more I am forgetting. If I think of more, I’ll continue my list later. 🙂 }
Happy 18 months Anna Claire and Charlie. We love you bunches!!
