I’m dreaming of a white…

(day after) Christmas…

To be completely honest, I really doubted we would get any snow.  However, when I woke this morning and looked outside, I saw the beautiful snow.  We took our kiddos outside to play.  Anna Claire liked the snow.  She picked it up with her hands and even tasted it…she said, “ice!”  Charlie was completely ok as long as his daddy was holding him (as you will see in the picture of him below…he really disliked standing in it!)  When being held, he’d say, “oohh Dada, oohh!”  Once we were all inside and warm and dry, Daddy made some hot chocolate to share.  🙂 ImageImageImageImageImageImage

We wish you a merry Christmas

The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.  –John 1:14

Our Adventure to Edventure

My friend told me about this thing called Groupon.  Anyways…long story short, we got a deal on a weekday membership to Edventure.  I was a little unsure that it was age appropriate for Anna Claire and Charlie but boy was I wrong.  I took them for the first time last week with their friends and they had a blast! (We actually went back today with Nana.)  There is a firetruck.  They can wear the fireman hats, coats and boots.  There is a Piggly Wiggly store with buggies and everything on their level.  There is a farm with tractors and a garden.  There is Snowville with ‘snow’, a slide, fishing hole, ice skating rink, etc.  Then we went to “West Africa” where they can play drums in a green room then see themselves on tv.  ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

That’s as far as we got the first time because it got close to lunch and naptime.  Today we walked through Eddie (the really big kid in the center of Edventure.)  We played music, played with sand, sat on a camel (pretend) and went through “Fairytale land.” We also played in the toddler “Backyard” area.

All in all…it is a great place for lots of learning too!  We will definitely go back especially with all this cold weather. 🙂

Brrr….

Our children LOVE to play out side.  We seriously spent hours outside each day during the summer.  The other day they really wanted to go outside so we bundled up and headed out.

Yes, she has a passy in her mouth.  It was after nap and I just wasn’t going to fight that battle.  But isn’t she cute with her brother’s baseball bat?Image

Sometimes you just have to lay in the grass and look at the sky.Image

“Mommy, maybe you should water these flowers.”Image

Then we went inside to get warm.  Charlie thought the Christmas tree needed some more decoration.  (That’s his sippy cup.)Image

That evening Aunt Melanie came over to play!!  🙂Image

Thankfully they don’t fight me about putting on their coats, hats, and gloves as long as we can go outside.  But my goodness…it is SO COLD!

2nd Annual Cookie Day

Last year I was still teaching at LHS so I couldn’t join the festivities.  However, Daddy took the kiddos to make cookies last year.  Click here to see those pictures.

Mrs. Elizabeth invited us over with some friends to make cookies.  Here are some pictures of our fun day. 🙂

Charlie was more interested in exploring and finding the bubbles.Image

Anna Claire found a candy dispenser.  I think we owe Mrs. Elizabeth some more M&M’s!Image

The boys found that the little squares at the bottom of the handrail moved and were pros at moving them up and down.Image

Thanks for another great cookie day, Mrs. Elizabeth.
