The conversation went a little like this…
Anna Claire said, “Daddy, up high!” Daddy said, “ok.”
Charlie said, “Dada, up high!” Daddy said, “ok.”
And to set the record straight…the kiddos totally enjoy this and yes, this scares Mommy! 🙂

Christmas Eve we headed to church for the family service. They even had a live nativity. Then we came home, ate dinner, and made our gingerbread house.

After bath, we read the Christmas story from their children’s Bible and headed to bed. The next morning we were up early to enjoy all of our fun gifts. They loved playing with all their new toys.

This Christmas has been great!
We started our celebration with cookie day. Uncle Justin, Aunt Bekah, and Aunt Melanie definitely helped the kiddos learn how to shake LOTS of sprinkles.

We exchanged gifts with my parents, Bekah, Justin, and Melanie a couple days after Christmas.
Look at their kitchen!
(Side note…they love this kitchen. We’ve turned our FROG into their playroom. There are a million pieces of food that I find all over the place. Seriously…in shoes, under the couch, in the bathroom and kitchen. I can clean and organize the playroom and in 5 minutes they will pull everything out. Sometimes I feel like I need to apologize to my mom because I totally remember her cleaning our playroom as kids and then we made a wreck out of it and didn’t clean it up.)
The weekend before Christmas we celebrated with my dad’s side of the family. Anna Claire and Charlie had a great time! We are so blessed to live so close to so much family. I’ve always loved having a big extended family and lots of cousins. I think I counted that we were missing 10 people in the family picture yet we still had a big crowd.

Christmas day we went to my mom’s parents house and had a late breakfast. Yum! The kiddos loved all the attention and getting to play with Kira (Bekah and Justin’s dog). 🙂

I’m so sad about this family picture…it’s blurry and we are missing Stormy and Nick. Oh well…you can kind of see us all.
Christmas 2010 with the Winns was GREAT! 🙂
Tomorrow…our Christmas morning at home with our little family! 🙂
We started our Christmas festivities with the Hensons the Saturday before Christmas. We headed to Patrick, SC to Devin’s grandparents house (on his dad’s side). We had a great time! Anna Claire loved this rocking horse!
Charlie liked playing catch.
They got these pillow pets from Grandma Libby. They LOVE these…especially Charlie.
We had fun opening presents.
I’m not sure who is more interested in the Cars…Charlie, Josh, or Devin? 🙂
Charlie loved the desserts. 🙂
Even though it was cold and drizzling a little outside, we still had to venture out so they could see the horses.
We had a great time and hope to get together again soon!
Our next celebration started on December 23 at Nana and Grandpa’s house. Devin’s Granny and Aunt Hoss came down from Charlotte to celebrate with us. Nana let us open an early (well a couple early) presents. 🙂
Look Hoss…it’s corn!
Aunt Caity and Uncle Chadd had an idea for us to do a gift exchange game. It was lots of fun.
I think Charlie ended up with Great Granny’s snow globe. 🙂
The next morning we headed over for a yummy (and I mean yummy!) breakfast and to open presents. “Yay Mommy! This is fun!”
Someone was still a little sleepy.
The Bonesteels!
Leave it to Grandpa to teach them to fight with empty wrapping paper rolls.
This is a picture of the steering wheels and bars they got the kiddos to add to their swingset for Christmas. It is so much fun!
We had a fantastic time with the Henson clan this Christmas!
I have to write about this so that I can remember to share these stories when our kiddos are older. First, Anna Claire…she is SO particular. We rearranged the furniture in our den. Well, the next morning when she woke up she came to the den and started crying saying, “Mommy, oh no, it moved!” (She did this 3 days in a row!) We cleaned the carpet at our house so I had to move some of the furniture in her room. When I put it back, I put her baby doll stuff in a little different order and she freaked out! She will not eat a broken cookie or pretzel. The other day I changed her pillow case (which was white) and put a light yellow one on. It was night so her room was dark so she couldn’t tell. The next day for nap she was upset and needed ‘her’ pillow so I had to give her a white pillowcase. One night after bath she cried because I used a blue towel for her not a pink one. She also has an issue with certain shirts…the sleeves can not have elastic around the wrists. OH MY GOODNESS!! I feel the gray hair coming.
Charlie man…he is talking so much more! We are so proud of him. My favorite word right now is turtle (tu tle). Some other new words are Anna, brownie (bwownie), back, and hot dog. We started speech therapy for him. You may think he is a little young for it but I think it has been great! When we started he was 20 months old and had the comprehension of a 26 month old (awesome!). However he had the verbal language of a 17 month old. That’s not too delayed but I’m sure he has improved a lot. I am so proud!! Funny story about Charlie…I told you earlier we cleaned the carpet. Well, the next day he told his daddy he had to pee pee. (We haven’t started potty training but we will soon…we have two little potties waiting. I just selfishly am not ready.) So, Devin took him to the bathroom and took his diaper off. Charlie immediately ran from the bathroom (naked) and started peeing! All over my clean carpet. Well, at least he knew he had to go. 😉 Also, we’ve started a little habit that I really don’t mind at night. Honestly, I don’t know how it started. One night out of the blue we put him in his bed to go to sleep. About 3 minutes later he called me…which never happens. I went in there and he stood in his crib, pointed to the chair, and said, “wok wok” (rock rock). So, for about 2 weeks now, we “wok wok” for about a minute then I put him in the bed. He isn’t asleep. I guess he just loves his mommy and wants to snuggle. 🙂
Here are a couple pictures from bath last night. I haven’t forgotten about the rest of our Christmas pictures. They are coming this week!
