Our Daddy’s Birthday!

Friday was Devin’s 28th birthday.  It’s crazy to think he asked me on our first date when he was 16! (he turned 17 the next week though 🙂 ) Friday was a pretty lazy day.  We cooked Daddy some cinnamon rolls for breakfast then we dyed eggs.ImageImage  ImageWe played with playdoh, ‘cooked’ in our play kitchen, and much more.  That night we were planning on Nana and Grandpa stopping by for a little bit, but we surprised Daddy by secretly inviting Aunt Caity, Uncle Chadd, Granny, Papa, Aunt Melanie, and the Broadwells over for pizza, cake, and icecream.  We had a great time celebrating our wonderful Daddy’s birthday.  🙂ImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Lions and Tigers and a Million People – Oh my!

The zoo is one of our favorite places to go.  We have a family membership that we take full advantage of.  Well…this week is spring break so our friend Caroline and her mommy could come with us (her mommy is a teacher!)  So we met the Broadwells, Leviners, Tuckers, and Whittingtons at the zoo.  Look at all those cute kids in their strollers!Image
In this picture, Caroline, Sarah Ann, Anna Claire and Charlie are looking at the elephants.Image  This is one of the few times we let them get out of their strollers because it was SO crowded.  I mean seriously there were thousands of people there.  Here are pics of Elijah and Nathan saying, “Cheese!”ImageImage  Reece wanted to help push the stroller.Image  Although the zoo was a little more crowded than normal, it was a beautiful day and we got to enjoy some fresh air with great company!

A Mess!

I saw this idea on a friend’s blog and thought it would be fun.  I had an empty plastic tub so I went to the store and bought a 10 pound bag of rice.  I put it in the bucket along with plastic spoons, cups, and some hidden treasures. Image I thought this would help them improve their skills using utensils and they would have fun finding the treasures.  Well…they did.  I was amazed at how well this occupied them. Image Devin was working outside and I needed a hammer to hang a picture, so I walked outside for a second (maybe 30 seconds…but you get the point).  This is what I found when I came inside. Image Rice was everywhere…the floor, under the rug, on TOP of the stove, in the sink, etc.  We had a little discussion that the rice has to stay in the box then Mommy sent them outside to play with Daddy while she cleaned up.Image

There is never a dull moment in our home! 🙂

Disney on Ice

Our friend, Mr. J.W., gave us 4 tickets to go see Disney on Ice.  I’m not sure who was more excited…me or the kiddos!  We had awesome seats too!  They didn’t take their eyes off the ice.  They loved seeing Mickey, Minnie, and all the Disney characters.  We will definitely go back!  Thanks Mr. J.W.! 🙂

The other day we also had fun playing at Maddie’s house.  We had a great lunch too!  Mommy even got to hold Baby Hudson for a little bit. 🙂 [oh, and so did Anna Claire…a real baby is SO much better than those dolls!]ImageImageImage

Here’s one more picture from our zoo trip a couple weeks ago.  Who would have ever thought back in high school that Kimberly and I would be taking our children to the zoo together?  So fun!Image

Happy Birthday Caroline!

On Sunday, Mommy had Jr. Miss interviews and Daddy had a meeting at church, so the twins got to spend some time with Mrs. Kim. 🙂 She took them our friend Caroline’s 2nd birthday party and I met them there.  It is so fun for the kids to have so many friends their same age.  Anna Claire and Charlie loved playing in the sandbox and eating hotdogs. ImageHere’s the birthday girl!ImageHere’s a picture from January I never posted of Anna Claire with Caroline and Sarah Ann.  Aren’t they adorable? 🙂Image

We forgot to get their party favors when we left Caroline’s party, so Sarah Ann brought them to us when she got home.  Devin was planning on washing his car, but the kids had other plans!ImageImageImage
