Zoo fun!

photo 2The weather was so nice the other day that we headed to the zoo.  It was such a fun day.  Anna Claire and Charlie are at a great age.  This trip was the first one they actually wanted me to read all about the different animals. Before I knew it we had been there 3 hours! (and we didn’t even see it all!)photo 5 photo 4 photo 3 Also, they climbed the rock wall for the first time.  Charlie-man wasn’t a big fan of the height but I was so proud of him for trying twice!  Anna Claire almost made it to the top.  She tried 3 times and did a great job!photo (28)

My parents got Anna Claire and Charlie tickets to the Disney Live Jake and Sofia show! 🙂   Unfortunately my dad was sick, so Aunt Melanie joined Anna Claire, Charlie, and Granny.  They had a blast! 🙂  I heard all about every detail for several days.  Sweet memories were definitely made!  Thank you!photo (29)photo 1

Love Love Love

On Valentines day we had a fun playdate with our friends complete with crafts, games, and snacks.  We were all so excited to get out of the house after being stuck at home because of the snow and ice.  We love our friends! 🙂  The kids also enjoyed getting several sweet cards in the mail as well as boy and girl potato heads from Miss Jen!photo 2photo 3 photo 1

Here’s a picture I took this morning.  Anna Claire loves arts and crafts, reading, cooking, playing with her dolls, dress up, dance, swinging, etc.  She will sometimes play superheros with her brother.  However, this morning she surprised me when she came out dressed as spiderman.  🙂  Charlie sure was happy!photo 2 (2)

As I wrote earlier, Devin and I took the kids out to dinner and a movie for Valentines day.  Well, this sweet man of mine made plans for us for the next Friday.  These plans included…a dozen roses, a birdsnest necklace, kids spending the night with Nana and Grandpa, dinner at my favorite Mr. Friendly’s, a walk downtown, dessert at Starbucks, a night away at the Claussen Inn (an historic inn downtown with only 29 rooms…precious!),  breakfast in bed, then the shooting range and lunch at Grouchos.  IT WAS AWESOME!  (and our kids had a blast making homemade pizza, going fishing and treasure hunting with Nana and Grandpa!) 🙂photo 4photo 5photo 1 (2)

Feed the birds…

…tuppence a bag…

Yes.  Tuppence.  Am I the only person in the world who thought that Mary Poppins was saying something different?  Tuppence is like two pence in British coins.  Just a little FYI for you. 🙂

Now, back to the birds…For Valentines day, Anna Claire and Charlie’s teachers gave them bird seed and this sweet little poem. photo 3 Then we had another snow/ice storm.  The kiddos wanted to throw out the seed for the birds so we did.  photo 2We also played outside a little bit.  Mostly they wanted to eat the icicles.photo 1 (2) photo 5

We also had fun playing with our friends Maddie and Hudson the other night.  I bet our dinner conversation was more interesting than yours! Ha ha! 🙂photo 4photo 1

On Valentines day, Devin and I decided to take the kids out to dinner and a movie.  We had a yummy meal at Mellow Mushroom and then saw the Lego movie.  Such fun family time. photo 2 (2) Also, we gave them a little treat on Valentines morning.  Spin brushes.  I know…who wants a new toothbrush?  Well, you would have thought we gave them the moon because they were so excited! 🙂

Last but not least, we are so excited that Aunt Spencer and Grandpa both got new jobs.  We had them over for dinner to celebrate and these are the cakes we made for them. 🙂  photo 4 (2) photo 3 (2)

Check back soon for more posts that Mommy has to finish before our big birthday coming up in March! 🙂
