Myrtle Beach and Charleston

In July we headed to the beach with our friends.  I blogged earlier about our heartbreaking trip down with the accident we witnessed.  However, once we made it down, we had a great time!  Swimming in the pools, time on the beach…building sandcastles, riding waves, flying kites…, pizza dinner, pirate show, Broadway at the Beach, icecream, and much more.  We had a great trip!  IMG_4176 IMG_4177 IMG_4184 IMG_4183 IMG_4186 IMG_4182 IMG_4185 IMG_4181 IMG_4200 IMG_3114 IMG_4201 IMG_4202 IMG_3107 IMG_3050 IMG_4199Here’s a picture of the first year we went to the beach together and one from this year!  Fun times!IMG_3057

The weekend before school started, Devin and I took the kids to Charleston for a day trip.  We had such a wonderful time!  We first went to the Angel Oak.  It is an amazing tree!IMG_3903 IMG_3901After that we headed downtown to the aquarium.  That was so much fun.  IMG_3929Next we rode a ferry over to Fort Sumer.  The kids loved the boat ride and exploring once we got to the fort. IMG_3936 IMG_3947 IMG_3950 IMG_3951 IMG_3954 After our ride back, we went downtown for dinner at this new yummy BBQ place.  We then walked down to waterfront.  The kids played in the fountain and had a blast!  IMG_3973We put dry clothes on, made a quick stop by the candy store, then headed to our friends’ house.  Devin’s college roommate’s family is from Charleston. They live near by and it was great to see them.  The kids had a blast and it was great catching up. IMG_3979 By then it was night.  We put the kids in the car and headed home.  They fell asleep on the way home!  It was a great getaway before school started.  🙂  Oh I love my family!

More super summer fun!

Here are some more super fun things we did this summer:

On Friday before July Fourth, we had dinner with the Broadwells and then enjoyed some sparklers and a few fireworks in the cul-de-sac with our friends.  On the Fourth of July, we headed to the parade at the peach festival where we enjoyed peach icecream, live music, and more!  That evening we had family over for dinner and more fireworks!
IMG_2596IMG_2597 IMG_2607 IMG_2630We enjoyed swimming and playing at the splash pad too!

First Grade is here!

Last Monday was the first day of school.  Unfortunately, AC was sick and couldn’t go.  Charlie was excited and headed to school by himself.  He had a great day!

Anna Claire was much better and ready for school on Tuesday.  I think Charlie was glad to have her with him as well.  IMG_4054

Here’s a collage of them on the first day of school from preschool all the way to first grade.  IMG_4064

Check out all the cute things the teacher sent home each day from school!  She even took time to email me when AC was back at school to let me know she was doing well.  I am so thankful to partner with this awesome school for the best education and life experiences possible for our kids!  IMG_4083Once we made it through the first week, we headed up to NC on Saturday for a surprise birthday party and camping trip.  Devin’s pawpaw was celebrating his 80th birthday and so much family came to celebrate.  The kids and Devin played putt putt with Spencer, Brandon, and Parker before they left.  IMG_4139 Next, we took the kids to the pool at the campground.  After that we went exploring, played on the playground, ate dinner, then ate homemade icecream with all the family who was staying the night to camp. IMG_4138 Devin and I took the kids back to the campsite, started a fire, and made smores.  IMG_4135The next morning we packed up, ate breakfast with the family, and headed home.  It was such a great weekend away!

Throwback Thursday

Well, I never posted all these pictures from Christmas.  So I took a screenshot of them all on my iPhone.  Can’t believe it will be Christmas again in 4 months! FullSizeRender FullSizeRender_1
