Two Little Hensons

We enjoyed our annual trip to the fair this year. We walked through all the buildings, farm, watched a magician, ate too much food, played games, and rode lots of rides.  Devin and I have been going to the fair together for 16 years now! Our trip is definitely a little different now than it was when we were teenagers, but I love watching our kids have fun.

Devin and I have a weekly lunch date. Don’t tell the kids, but we went back to the fair one day for lunch! It was fun to eat and walk around together! 🙂 Charlie-man began his second year of football. His sweet daddy is his coach. The Grizzlies are having a lot of fun!

Here are some other things we’ve been up to recently: The kids had fun at their friend’s birthday party. They were in kindergarten and now first grade with Marley. 🙂 During our days off of school, Aunt Melanie hung out with us some and the kids got pretty in to playing Minecraft. Both of our families are pretty busy, but we try to make time to hang out with our friends when we can. 🙂 Love these kiddos! Anna Claire enjoyed a fun tea party for Mari Mack’s birthday while Charlie and Daddy played laser tag! Some other things we did while the kids were out of school because of the flooding was paint our hall, go to the zoo, and visit some of our grandparents.  In October we celebrated my momma’s birthday and Devin’s granny’s birthday. 🙂 Stay tuned for more updates! Oh look at our sweet babies on their first Halloween!  Aren’t they the cutest little pumpkins you’ve ever seen? 🙂 

And here they are on their second halloween as Dora and Diego…wearing their backpack and rescue pack while holding Boots and Baby Jaguar!

And their third halloween they dressed up as a pirate and Tinkerbell.  

For the fourth halloween, they were Spiderman and a beautiful butterfly.

Snow White and the red power ranger were their choice for costumes for their 5th halloween.

Last year they were an Indian and Belle for their 6th halloween.

Now this year we have a skeleton and Jasmine!  We’ve had fun so far at Boo at the Zoo and Light up the night.  We’re looking forward to more fun this weekend.

This is gonna be a long post! Not every weekend of every month is busy.  And we like it that way.  But September was different!  Every. Single. Weekend was spent doing something with family and we had a blast!

Labor Day weekend:  We spend this weekend at Myrtle Beach with my dad’s side of the family.  My Meme and Papa, my dad and his 3 sisters, along with some of the grandkids and great grandkids all stayed at the condo of a friend of theirs.  We had so much fun…beach time, pool time, seafood dinner, Broadway at the beach, and Ripley’s aquarium were some of the fun things we did.  Here are a few of my favorite pictures.  I am SO incredibly thankful to have spent this time with my grandparents.  Memories were made that will be treasured forever!

Weekend 2:  Aunt Spencer’s birthday!  We headed up to Charlotte to Granny’s house for the day.  It was a lot of fun!  She cooked lunch for us.  We had cupcakes and pie for dessert.  We played games, pin the tail on the donkey, threw the football outside, and more.  Granny, Devin’s great Aunt Hoss, and Aunt Cindy are usually the ones to travel to SC for holidays and get togethers, so it was nice for us to all head up there this time.  Can’t believe Spencer is a QUARTER OF A CENTURY old! 😉 I remember when I was a freshman in high school volunteering in her 2nd grade classroom. Fun times! And of course on our way home we had to stop for checkers and dinner at Cracker Barrel.  

Weekend 3:  Camping!  We packed up and headed out early Saturday morning.  Our first stop was Skytop Apple orchard.  The weather was perfect!  We picked apples, explored the orchard, played on the playground, got slushies and donuts, and just enjoyed our time there.  After that, we headed about and hour and a half north.  We checked in and got our camp site all set.  Then we headed down the road to Linville Caverns.  That was neat!  Afterwards we grabbed dinner, played on the playground at the campground, then settled in to our campsite.  We snuggled up around the fire, made smores, and told ghost stories.  The next day we packed up and headed up the Blue Ridge Parkway.  We hiked to Linville Falls.  It was beautiful.  After that, we headed down the mountain, grabbed lunch, and came home.

Weekend 4:  2nd Annual Henson family lake weekend!  Mrs. Amy’s boss has a house on Lake Murray.  Everyone was able to make it this year and we had so much fun! The kids caught a TON of fish, we played games, ate lots of food, and watched football too.

September sure was a fun month!
