Yesterday we went to church and then spent the afternoon with some sweet friends from college and their families. Ok. I’m going to be really honest. I was super excited about this. 🙂 Then the weather report said it was supposed to rain. This might sound bad, but the thought of 8 children (7 boys) ages 8, 7, 7, 7, 5, 5, 4, and almost 3 years old cooped up in my house while it rained outside made me a little nervous. It rained all morning.  We got drenched walking to our car after church. But at 12:30, it stopped. We were able to grill out, let the kids play outside, and catch up with one another. It was wonderful! The kids were amazing…seriously amazing! The last time all of us were together at one time was our wedding (which will be 12 years this July!) I’ve seen them separately, just not together. Can’t wait to get together again!
We had planned to go to the beach with the Broadwells today like we usually do on Memorial Day weekend, but it was calling for rain in Charleston, so we unfortunately had to cancel. So, last night around 7:00 we met up with my parents so the kids could go spend the night. Yay for granny and papa wanting the kids to spend the night! They stayed up entirely too late having movie night(but I guess that’s what you’re supposed to do with grandparents. I remember doing the same thing with mine!) 🙂 Today they went to the zoo, Chick-fil-a, Menchies, Books-a-million, then picked up Pa and met us and more family at the Koger Center for a great patriotic concert that Aunt Melanie played in. We even got to see Aunt Spencer and her residents from work. 🙂
After the concert, we ate dinner at Hickory Tavern in the Vista, came home and played outside, got baths, and those sleepy heads are in bed!

Whew! I’m so thankful for such a great weekend!

watched our boy run his heart out and play hard at his last soccer game,

played on the bounce house slide and obstacle course after his game and ate lunch with family,
watched AC’s best friend in her recital while the boys played golf,
visited and ate dinner with more family (my aunt is in town from VA and my cousin graduated yesterday),

then met up with Cortney and SA to see the Cinderella ballet, which was wonderful! The day was surprisingly not as stressful as I thought. Everything went well! On the way home from the ballet I treated AC to an icecream cone and she said, “Momma, take a picture of that beautiful sunset.”
Now all my babies are clean and in bed and I’m about to go to bed to0. It really was a wonderful day!

Anna Claire got her cast on Monday. Thankfully we were able to get a waterproof cast. She’s doing pretty good with it and has been SO excited for her friends to sign it. 🙂

After she got her cast we went ot Kona Ice. It was a fundraiser for their school.
Here’s a picture of lunch one day with the kids and some friends.Â
Charlie got a chance to bring Freddy home one more time. Â He had fun taking him to basketball practice, out to dinner, and playing outside.
Here’s a throwback to New Years…Devin and I had a great date night while the kids had fun with Granny and Papa!

Fun playdate with some friends from school a while back.
Lost teeth…Anna Claire’s sweet friend Hannah told her about what happens when the tooth fairy comes after you lose your second tooth. You put it in a glass of water and when the tooth fairy comes, color and glitter from her wings fall off in the water.  Ha ha! So here’s AC’s water glass…

Also, here are some cute pictures from when we went to watch one of Charlie’s friends play baseball and my sweet AC reading in the hammock with me. Oh I love them!
And to wrap up this post, here are cute pictures of sweet friends eating snow cones. 🙂

fun playing with cousins (and we can’t wait to spend time with the Brazells this summer too!),
Charlie went hunting for the first time with Papa,
Grandparents breakfast at school,
and we celebrated Big Papa’s 85th birthday!
