Two Little Hensons

Y’all…We had such a wonderful summer, but I did a terrible job of updating my blog. So, it’s September and I’m still writing about summer. 🙂 Check out some fun things we did:

Lunch days with Papa Blueberry picking Fun with friends and sweet Carson snuggles Glo Run! Father’s Day (lunch at Outback, swimming and cookout with the Winns)VBS fun! Haha! At Lowes…The mommies and the kiddos took a day trip to the beach. 🙂  Happy Fourth of July! Like I said…we had so much fun! Maybe two more posts and I’ll be caught up! 🙂

In January Devin, the kids, and I took a trip to the Bahamas. We visited Freeport and Nassau. The kids were so excited to get their own passports for Christmas and we headed to Florida that next week. We spent the night in FL so that we could get up the next day and head to the ship. The kids were amazed as soon as we walked on the ship. Over the next several days we enjoyed eating lots of yummy food, watching awesome shows, swimming in Freeport, exploring in Nassau, fun Dr. Seuss parade, character breakfast, puppet show, water slides, hot tubs, room service, bingo, and so much more. In fact, we had so much fun that we’ve already booked our next cruise!! Ahh!! So excited…but don’t tell the kids yet. 😉

On September 7, AC and Charlie turned 7 1/2. Those half birthdays are big deals for them…which I totally remember from being a kid! 🙂

We celebrated with a treat at Krispy Kreme. Here are some other fun things we’ve been up to recently: the kids had grits with grandparents at their school last week in honor of grandparents day that week. Showing some gamecock spirit…And Oak Grove patriot spirit…And here’s crazy Charlie who likes to ruffle his momma’s feathers by saying he likes Clemson! Yummy snowcones! (the kids’ class won free snowcones for their participation in a spirit day at Pelicans) We headed to Charleston with Cortney and Jeffrey for a concert that unfortunately was cancelled, but we had a great evening with our friends! I love eating lunch with my babies! Football season has started for Charlie! Go Warriors! Bike club…Charlie and some boys started a bike club that meets every Sunday. It’s so cute! AC and her sweet friend have their reading club while the boys play. 🙂 Talk like a pirate day! The line was SO long so daddy bought the kids an assorted dozen so we didn’t have to wait in the line for the free original glazed dozen. 🙂 Aren’t our babies so cute? Here they are in 2011 and 2016 cheering on the Gamecocks against ECU. Enjoying some yummy watermelon with friends one Saturday afternoon.Such fun times! We love our 7 and 1/2 year olds!

Devin’s granny lives in Charlotte and told us about a new exhibit at the Discovery Place Museum that she thought we would like. So, we packed up one Saturday morning and headed to NC. We picked her up at her house, went to lunch, and spent the rest of the day at the museum. We had so much fun! We spent the night with her that night which was such fun! The next morning we headed out to Flat Rock, NC to Skytop Apple orchard. We picked some very yummy apples, visited the animals, the kids played on the play ground, and we ate delicious donuts and drank apple slushies. It was a wonderful day! On the way home we stopped at a mall to eat and the kids had fun jumping high on the trampoline! It was a great little get away!
