When Anna Claire and Charlie were little, they said some cute things. As they have gotten older, they pronounce words correctly for the most part, but in the past couple days they have both said something that made us chuckle. I guess Charlie doesn’t have many chances to say the word ‘ambulance’ but he did today. However he said, “momma, there’s an ambliance.” It’s just so cute! 🙂 {I did kindly correct him though. We’ll see if he says it correctly next time.} On Saturday, Devin was meeting a new employee for dinner. AC said, “momma, are they going to Hickory Dickory Dock, I mean Tavern?” Haha! She was meaning Hickory Tavern in the Vista. It was so funny! Oh I love these sweet kiddos!
They’ve made it through their first 5 days of third grade! Day 2
Day 3
*Mommy and Daddy had a lunch date while they were at school. 😉Â
Fun after school!
Day 4
PTA bought 700+ cupcakes as a welcome back treat on Friday.
Day 5(Silly Charlie was covering the face of AC’s stuffed animal! That boy!)
Mommy had lunch with these funny kids today!
Fun with Nathan after school while AC was at gymnastics practice.
A few things from last weekend…C had football evaluations…
My super guy finished the deck! Screen porch going up later this week!!
I caved and we made slime!
One of Devin’s work study students invited us to her church Sunday. Her dad is the pastor. It is a small church and the majority of the congregation is African American. The music was great, everyone was SO friendly, and we all gathered in the fellowship hall after church like they do every week for lunch…fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, green beans, watermelon, salad, and lots of yummy desserts. I’m so impressed with the boldness of this college student inviting her boss to her church’s friends and family day. 🙂 …and the pastor preached on the same thing our pastor preached on the week before! Luke 10:27 – “He answered, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'”
Devin had one more thing to fix on the deck, and my parents happened to stop by just at the right time for my dad to assist. 🙂Â
Sunday evening after dinner the Broadwells came down for the kids to play a bit. It was a nice ending to our weekend. 🙂

After school they were so excited to tell me all about their fun day…the two truths and a fib game to get to know their classmates, who sits at their tables, what they did in PE, what they did at recess, and that I had homework to fill out all their info papers. 🙂 When they got home they had a snack, played legos, playdoh, cards, read books, and watched Bill Nye the Science Guy. After a yummy spaghetti dinner, we headed to Pelican SnoBalls for their school spirit night.
Then came home for bath, books, and bed! I sure do love those babies.
And just for fun, here are all of their first day pictures 😉 2 year preschool
3 year preschool
kindergarten
first grade(they are in separate pictures because AC missed the first day of school because she was sick…poor thing!)
second grade (not sure why I don’t have a picture together from this year)
But to be honest, sometimes when I look at them, I still picture them like this…

Oh my sweet babies! Mommy loves you SO much!!
This past week before school starts back has been great! Monday we relaxed at home and went and visited the firemen at our local fire station. We took them some Pelican coins so they can get some snow cones on these hot days. They let us see the brand new fire engine! It is the first time since the 1970s that our town has had a red fire truck. They have always been blue and white here.

Tuesday we finished our Lifeway summer reading and went to get our free devotionals and free books.

Wednesday AC had another day of practice and Charlie and I played games and rode bikes. That afternoon they hung out with the Broadwells while I had a meeting at USC.
Thursday AC had a fun day at gymnastics with free time in the gym and fun on a water slide. While she did that, Charlie and Reece had fun at HiWire then swimming in Mrs. Kim’s pool. That afternoon it was so hot so they stayed inside and skated in the living room. 🙂 That night I went to bunco and Devin took the kids to dinner and to play at Dave and Busters. They really like that place!

Friday morning began with feeding the teachers at their school then water balloons and popsicles with the Whittingtons and Broadwells. So fun!

Saturday, Devin had his first day of class and the kids had two fun parties to go to…one at Empire gymnastics and one was a swimming party!

Sunday we went to church, lunch with Nana and Grandpa, and then to visit Meme and Big Papa. Devin has been working so hard on our deck. The kids helped a little. 😉

Monday was great! Devin and Charlie went to play golf with friends. AC and I baked some eclipse cookies and went to visit Pa. After lunch, we headed outside with lots of people from our neighborhood to watch the eclipse. We had SunnyD, sun chips, eclipse cookies, and eclipse gum to snack on and share. We looked through box viewers, our glasses, shadows with the colander, and even saw the shadow snakes on a white table cloth we put out. It was so amazing. We heard bugs making noise, the temperature dropped, street lights came on…just amazing!

So here we are, fingernails have been cut, kiddos have been bathed, teeth brushed, books read, prayers said, outfits laid out, bookbags packed…we are ready for 3rd grade!
I’m so proud of them and so thankful for their wonderful school! 🙂 We are ready for another great school year!

Look at our watermelon…we have 3 growing!
Cucumbers from our garden

Waterfall Junction, rock wall, carousel, and ice cream.

They are SO in to American Ninja Warrior and love setting up their own courses.
C was teaching AC to play blackjack. Haha!
The kids went with Devin, Grandpa, and Parker to a fishing tournament. They had a blast! AC caught 6 fish and Charlie caught 8. He actually placed in the competition and was able to go to the Colonial Life Arena and go on stage to get an award! It was so cool!

While Devin and Charlie helped load up the rest of Aunt Melanie’s stuff and play golf, AC and I went to a tea party at Nana’s house. It was so fun!

Now we will enjoy our last week of summer break! 🙂

While the girls were doing their thing, Charlie had fun at dinner and then playing guitar hero with Uncle Brandon. 🙂

Remember that cute little 7 year old I told you about. Well she has a sister who is a couple years older than her. Unlike Spencer, Caity did not like me when we met. It’s kind of funny to think about now since she’s one of my best friends, but seriously, the girl didn’t like me…her brother’s girlfriend. 😉 Well, fast forward a couple years, my kiddos had a blast at Aunt Caity’s house playing with their cousins. They made homemade pizza, played pie face, watched a movie, and so much more fun! Love them all!

That same weekend, we celebrated Aunt Caity’s and Uncle Chadd’s birthdays. Check out that cake her kids decorated! 😉 🙂

Sweet cousins…(I told them if they smile and look at the camera then they could have cake! haha!)
Other family fun…We celebrated my Meme’s 86th birthday!! Love her!

Loved this view out my window the other day with papa helping Devin with plans for our screen porch!
AC had a sleepover with Granny and Papa…we went to the DYW program, TCBY, then they played with granny’s barbies from when she was little! While she was having fun there, Charlie was having a sleepover with Grandpa so they could get up at 5am to go fishing!!

Last but not least…swimming with the Bonesteels, playing at home, fun at the movies in the reclining seats, baking bread at Oakleaf, and a collage of pictures from National Twin Day!
