Day One. School began on a Tuesday which is kind of nice to have a short week the first week. The kids had a wonderful day! They got to see all their classmates and get to know the ropes of 5th grade. 🙂 After I dropped them off at school I went to the Day One mother’s prayer breakfast. It was a wonderful time gathering with over 300 moms in our district and praying for our children, teachers, and staff.

After school we grabbed smoothies to talk about the day and met daddy for dinner after work. 🙂

Day 2 – Wednesday. They had another great day and we grabbed snow cones afterwards and chatted about their second day of 5th grade. 🙂
Day 3 – Thursday…I love getting pictures and videos from their teachers.
FRIDAY! We made it 4 days of 5th grade. 🙂Â
Sunday after church Anna Claire and I headed to NC to a baby shower while the boys had a fun afternoon at the batting cages and playing golf.

First Monday of 5th grade was great!
Pictures before school on Tuesday – just because I think they’re cute!
Just a peek into the life of a PTA mom – buying fruit snacks and a helium tank to decorate the cafeteria for the kids and give them a sweet treat as a welcome back to school.
We bought $50 worth of items off of each teacher’s amazon wish list. This is just one of many deliveries! 🙂Â
Just a quick thank you to UPS for attempting to disguise our new tv that was delivered so people couldn’t easily see it and be tempted to steal it.
Pelicans with the Broadwells on their last night in our neighborhood. We’ll miss having them down the street!
Happy Wednesday! Our sweet girl is an anchor on the morning news show for her school. We are so proud of her for trying out and getting selected. I totally parked and sat in the front office to watch her on the tv. 🙂
I can not say it enough about how thankful I am that my kids have this opportunity to attend a great school and learn so much, make so many friends, and grow in more ways than just academically! 🙂
FIFTH grade!
Last Week of Summer Break
We started our last week of summer break at the skating rink with some friends.
Then got ice cream at McDonalds.
Tuesday morning started with an outdoor scavenger hunt before we headed to the movies to see the new Dora movie. Y’all! It was really so good.

That evening we grabbed some chick-fil-a (tried the new mac-n-cheese too!) and met daddy at the pool for a swim!
Wednesday began with a visit from Aunt Spencer and Owen. We sure do love that little guy! And even Uncle Devin swung by the house during lunch to visit. 🙂

That afternoon we went to the Whittington’s. AC was happy to see Emma. Charlie stayed while I took AC to gymnastics and they brought him home that night. Love these sweet friends!

Thursday was “meet the teacher.” We are so excited about 5th grade!

Pa cooked us dinner. 🙂Â
Our girl has been working hard at the gym!
Friday morning we had fun hanging out at the park with the Broadwells before running errands. 🙂Â
Friday night, Devin and I had a date night while the kids had a cousin sleepover at Nana and Grandpa’s house.

When they came home Saturday, Devin took AC out for pedicures while Charlie played with some neighborhood friends. We met them for an early dinner then played 9 holes of golf together. 🙂

Sunday we went to church then headed to the lake for lunch with the Winn side of the family. It was a beautiful day. Devin and I left around 4 to head home and get ready for a work dinner with Devin’s co-workers, so the kids stayed and spent the rest of the day at the lake then had dinner with Granny and Papa and visited Pa.

Enjoying some lazy morning snuggles before the early alarm clock goes off for school!
Monday before school started, we fed the teachers breakfast with the PTA then hung up new tether balls and basketball nets.
So proud of Devin! He won administrator of the year at work!
These two pictures are from a few weeks ago when Devin took the kids to Frankies. They had so much fun!
We had a wonderful summer break together and are looking forward to a wonderful school year!
A Week of Fun!
On Monday two weeks before school started, we picked up a couple friends and headed to Surge. It was so much fun! We stayed over 2 hours. Whew!

Tuesday morning we went to Pitter Platter. AC made several items at her art camp that she needed to paint, so Charlie and I joined her. He painted a panther mug for Nana.

After that we rode over to visit Aunt Spencer and Owen. 🙂

That night we went to Menchies. Y’all, we’ve got some super awesome kids and thankfully they get along well most of the time. Devin talks often with them about having a good culture in our home…one that is patient with each other, where we are good listeners and kind, use our words, have fun laughing and joking but knowing when to calm down and not act crazy. They unfortunately lost the opportunity to go out to Menchies one night because they were not being patient with one another and arguing in the car. (That was a sad ride home.) While I know there will be days where they don’t get along, I’m thankful for how much they love each other! They are learning about patience and showing grace when others need it. Daddy treated us all to Menchies a few days after our sad moment in the car. I sure do love these three!
Wednesday was a nice slow morning at home sleeping late, making slime, watching tv, and playing.

Then we went to visit Pa and get snow cones before AC went to gymnastics.
Much needed hair cuts!
I don’t have many pictures from Thursday. It was class assignment day so the kids were great helping set up.Â
Charlie had a great neurologist check up that day. 🙂 {This boy is so sweaty in this picture! I don’t have many pictures, but this summer Charlie has spent so much time playing outside with neighborhood boys…baseball, basketball, and football! They’ve run through sprinklers, eaten probably 100 popsicles from my fridge and drank so many drinks! And I LOVE IT!}
Friday was quite a fun day!! We started the morning at the Irmo park with cousins. 🙂

Then we met friends for lunch at Grouchos which lasted almost 2 hours!Â
That afternoon/evening Anna Claire had two sweet friends’ birthday parties! Ellery had such a fun mermaid party from 4-6.

Then from 6-9 was Taylor’s swimming party! Charlie played golf with Daddy then he got to join in on the swimming fun from 8-9. 🙂
Saturday morning AC baked a cake for Aunt Caity and Uncle Chadd’s birthday party.

We had a lot of fun celebrating their birthday with family!

Sunday morning before church Devin put a brisket on the smoker. We’ve never smoked a brisket before. It was SO good!
And here’s a cute throw back from the weekend before when we went to see the Broadwells in Peter Pan. It was such a cute play and they did a great job!! 🙂
Visiting the Brazells
While Devin was in Oregon, the kids and I packed up and hit the road to Florida with Granny and Papa. We were so happy to get to spend several days with the Brazells. Sleepy babies on the long trip:
We got to Florida around 5pm. I didn’t get many pictures that evening! Papa grilled hot dogs for dinner and the kids played all evening! Here’s a picture of Bible story time with Aunt Bekah before bed:
Sunday morning we got up and went to church with them.Â
After lunch we went to get ice cream then spent the rest of the afternoon swimming!
That night we ordered pizza and hung out at their house. Monday morning we got up and headed to the beach! Ahh! It’s so lovely.

That evening we came back, showered, and those sun-kissed kiddos played some more. They just loved spending time together. 🙂

I can’t believe this is their home! I would sit outside all the time if I lived here!
We sat on the dock and watched the sun set.

Tuesday morning brought more play time while papa cut the grass.

Then we ate lunch and went bowling!

Such a neat playground!
Charlie was SO excited to make a car like his cousins have.

And of course we had to get some candy from the candy store. 😉Â
Dinner at LuLu’s! Yum!

Wednesday morning we packed up and went to Dunkin Donuts before hitting the road. We were so sad to leave but so happy for the wonderful time together!

While Daddy is away…
Devin works so hard. He’s had to travel two weeks in a row – once to Dallas and once to Portland, Oregon. While he was in Dallas we had some fun at home! (While he was in Oregon we hit the road and I’ll post about that later.)
We went to see the new Lion King movie.
I cut up an apple for Charlie to eat and he popped the spring off his braces so we had to go get them fixed. His orthodontist has icees in their lobby so of course he got a treat. 😉 Ha!
Granny and Papa’s friends invited us out to the lake. It was such a lovely evening. Thank you Grants!

One day while AC was at gymnastics, Charlie talked me in to taking him to the animal shelter like I did with AC the week before. 🙂 Y’all, I don’t know how I got out of there without getting a new pet!
We spent some time at the park with cousins! I sure do love these kiddos and their mommas!

We visited our friends at Oakleaf for devotionals and singing songs. We of course had to bring them a sweet treat like always! This time it was donuts!
We went to the dentist and he told Charlie he needed to pull a tooth because it was ready to come out so Charlie came home and pulled it. 🙂Â
Sweet girl is working hard in gymnastics.
One night after gymnastics we got dinner with Nana and did a little shopping while the boys were having some fun of their own! (she REALLY wanted nana to get this steering wheel cover. 😉 )
The boys grabbed dinner at Quaker Steak and Lube then went to a basketball tournament at heathwood hall.
Gifts in the mail from Granny in Charlotte!
We finally got my car fixed. Woo hoo! Thanks to the Broadwells for taking us to pick it up while Devin was away. We enjoyed a picnic at the park afterwards!
Someone stole Daddy’s pillow 🙂Â
And last but not least, we visited Meme to celebrate her 88th birthday! Charlie helped papa and big papa work on a project while the girls supervised and socialized. 🙂

I can’t believe it is almost time for school to start back. We are savoring our last few days before another great school year!
