Halloween and Thanksgiving 2020

Halloween

Drive thru State Fair, watching our friends in a play, birthday party for SA, Veteran’s Day, skeet shooting, wearing Momma’s pj’s from when she was a little girl, Bekah flew into town to visit Pa, more youth group fun, blood donation, and the last couple pictures of Charlie flexing and AC “standing” on a ball are from Charlie’s photography class. He LOVED digital design last nine weeks!

Thanksgiving 2020 with the Winns then the Hensons. During this crazy 2020 year, we were so thankful to be able to get together with family.

Running for political office

I wrote in an earlier post that I filed to run for school board. I am so thankful for my family and friends who supported me in this endeavor. I hope to serve my hometown well.

At the time of my swearing in, three of my four grandparents were still living. They were all able to watch it. I wanted to honor my Ma who passes away several years ago, so my Pa let me use her Bible for the swearing in and Devin, Anna Claire, Charlie, and my parents were able to attend. 🙂

Camping!

Devin and I had been saving for a while. We love to travel with our kids, but with the Covid-19 pandemic, staying in hotels wasn’t the most appealing idea. So, we took the plunge and bought a camper! We LOVE it!

Our first trip was to Kentucky with my parents, sisters, and their family. (Side note…I don’t recommend a first trip in a camper to be 500 miles away! Ha!) It was such a wonderful weekend! We celebrated my mom’ birthday and visited the Ark Encounter while there.

On our way home, we stopped by Stepp’s Orchard for some apples and to stretch our legs. It was such a great trip with family!

Fall 2020 recap

In September, the kids headed back to school. They were on a hybrid model meaning they only went to school 2 days a week and they did virtual learning at home the other 3 days. I am so proud of how well they did during that time.

One day we got to watch Owen and it was fun!

My signs came in for my school board campaign! And we celebrated Aunt Spencer’s birthday. 🙂

And a few more things…youth group started, AC did some baking, Charlie continued to cut the grass, we visited Meme and Big Papa, put flowers on Ma’s grave, served lunch to teachers at OGE with our church, C played a lot of basketball, and we enjoyed lots of sunshine with friends, neighbors, and cousins!

Dr. James Devin Henson

We are SO INCREDIBLY PROUD of Devin. He worked so hard to earn his doctorate while working full time and being a husband and dad. He wrote and defended his dissertation during a pandemic and graduated early with a 4.0 – Summa Cum Laude! Congratulations, Dr. Henson!
