To support its growth, United Group has partnered with a number of leading global investors. In March 2019, it became majority-owned by BC Partners, a leading alternative investment firm with over €40 billion in assets under management across the private equity, private debt and real estate segments. Established in 1986, BC Partners has played an active role for three decades in developing the European buy-out market. Today, senior staff from BC Partners’ offices in North America and Europe work as an integrated team serving multiple markets. Since its foundation, BC Partners has completed 130 private equity investments in companies with a total enterprise value of over €175 billion and is currently investing its eleventh private equity fund.

History and growth

United Group began in 2000 as a small cable company and expanded over the next twelve years through the acquisition and the formation of a number of assets including SBB, Telemach Slovenia and Telemach Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 2012 the companies formed together to become United Group. Since then, it has grown through a number of acquisitions including cable TV operators, content platforms and mobile service providers that have strengthened its customer offering and expanded its presence across the region. Today, United Group provides fixed and mobile telephony to a large number of households and offices in the region. In its key markets, the group companies also offer data and voice services, as well as certified managed services to small, medium and large companies.

Content production
and innovation

United Group has developed a leading content business, as well as advertising sales business called United Media, which is a combination of top Pay TV channels in the region (sports, news, entertainment, movies, kids) and CAS Media providing clients with targeted media buying on most of the regional cable channels. In 2016, United Group established United Cloud, an in-house technology and software development centre to develop digital services for the future. It works closely with leading global technology companies and is working on cutting-edge products.
