My Smart Girls
I looked up the other day and realized that Ella was practicing writing and Adelaide was reading a stack of books. They are such high achievers. :)
Cupcakes
Cakes I make usually taste pretty good but look like a train wreck. So, my mother-in-law gave me a tutorial on frosting cakes and I'm really excited by all that I learned. I think there might now be hope that the girls will one day have a decent looking birthday cake. In this picture Ella is helping me make cupcakes. Her cooking in her Minnie Mouse dress reminded me of the pictures from the 1950s of women vacuuming in high heels and pearls.
Pack n Play Time
Ella has never been much for individual playtime but the girls are usually happy to sit together for a little bit and play. On this day Ella put Adelaide in her lap so that they could read together.
Nine Months
It was hard to get a picture of this little girl and the dog! She is so on the move these days that sitting still with a dog was just not working for her. At nine months Adelaide is still an absolute delight. We all adore her.
Swimming
Nan and Pop bought the girls a swimming pool (we put it on our upstairs balcony) and we have had so much fun with it this week. If there are things more fun than watching two little girls splash around in a pool, I can't think of what it would be. The girls' different personalities really show when they are in the pool together. Adelaide gets in and goes for it! She splashes and SPLASHES and keeps on SPLASHING! She crawls all around and tries to stand up on the side of the pool. Ella, on the other hand, likes to sit and pour water and does not want anything to do with anything even resembling a little splash. It took us quite awhile to even get her to try on her new bathing suit. Its fascinating to watch how different the girls are. Can't wait to see how they will continue to develop!
Standing
Adelaide noticed big sister's necklace on the table and then figured out how to pull herself to standing so she could grab it off the table! We were so proud. I'm not quite sure Ella is prepared for such a mobile little sis.
Adelaide Discovers the Kitchen
This crawling thing is really working out for Adelaide! This week she discovered the little play kitchen and has really been having fun going through it!
