Today was the court hearing. But it’s great that everything is not too bad now, we only have to pay like $2967.81 in total. It’s quite a lot, but definitely lesser than the amount that we had expected. Aik is also much cheerful now that the case is over, so I guess everything is much better now.
But now it’s really quite annoying, for it’s like we need to settle things using the internet, like booking of accommodation for the outings that we are going and of course our travels after leaving Yellowstone, but it’s just so hard to get everyone to come together to decide on something. And everytime when we have decided that everyone would be coming together to decide for once, someone would decide that they don’t feel like going, then all our plans would be foiled. Very irritating, but oh well, just get used to it lah, everyone is so odd lately.
The days here are long, and the nights short, so it becomes that I am sleeping lesser and lesser, and so now I have darker and darker eye rings, and feeling tired everyday. But to be truthful, I am getting accustomed to the weather here, although now it is still a little too dry for me, but it’s nice to be in a cool weather and that I just pile on clothes to feel warmer. That day we went to camp at grand tetons national park, and it was super cold lah. I was like wearing 7 layers on top and 3 at the bottom. But it was still really very cold. Now I understand why people have to build a fire, even in drama serials.
And anyway, now i’m really enjoying myself with the food in the parcel. It really feels so good to be eating ‘home food’! haha. Anyway, just to update a little, I have pushed forward my return date to 8th august instead of 9th august. And I will be in Taiwan from 1st august instead of 3rd august. I’m glad to be back one day earlier lah. And to be truthful, time really flies. Can’t believe that I have been here for so long already. But I like the fact that the Singaporeans and Malaysians that we have met here are really good people. Hopefully we will be able to keep in touch after this experience. =)
Hm, okay lah, I think I will be online quite often these few days coz the modules are coming out soon. At least the usp ones are out already, so I have to start thinking about what I want to take already. It’s irritating lor, dun feel like doing that, but I think I have no choice. Okay lah, I gtg already. Very late already. Good night!

Dear Ms Kaur,
I appreciate DHL Singapore’s and your effort to trace and notify me about the status of my package. However, I must express my disappointment regarding the DHL US side and also the service of DHL in general.
Firstly, from your email, I understand that there was an attempted delivery on 21st June. However, I am not notified of this at all until I called the sender to check about the status of my package. I did try to track the package at the DHL website on Sunday, 24th June, but all I got to know was that there is a delivery arranged but there are no details, even now. I really wonder what the use of the tracker is when I cannot get details of my package when I need it.
I also checked with my personnel office, which is the address which the package should be sent to, but they assured me that they have not received any delivery failure card that day. Furthermore, they assured me that other courier services, when there is a delivery failure, they will send it to the hotel’s (Old Faithful Inn) front desk where someone can sign it on my behalf and never to the post office, for that is not the address written. This makes me wonder if my package was really sent to the address that is specified by the sender, or just directly thrown to the post office for me to pick it up.
When I contacted DHL at the number you gave, I was told that it was at “Yellowstone National Park Post Office”. So I went to the Old Faithful Station to pick it up, but the person in charge there told me that there was no such package. So I called DHL again to tell them my problem, but the person could only tell me that “the Yellowstone National Park Post Office has the postal code of WY 82190”. I asked if it was deposited at the Old Faithful station and if my package can be redelivered, but the officer told me that on her side, she cannot do anything already as it is not on their hands anymore. From your email, I understood that I can “arrange for delivery again”, and not as what the officer said, that I have to pick it up on my own, and if I do not, my package would be returned to the sender.
I would think that the least thing that the DHL officer could do was to call and check for me which particular post office my package is at, if I have to pick it up on my own, for Yellowstone National Park has Post Offices in Mammoth Hot Springs, Old Faithful, Lake Village, Grant Village and Canyon Village. But no, the officer told me that she cannot check for me, and I have to go to the post office to check with them on my own. 5 post offices in the region, I have to visit all? As such, I spent the whole morning running between post offices to look for my package, and finally, I found it at the Old Faithful Station in the end, the person in charge said that the package was hidden under another parcel. I also had to carry the 12+kg package back from the post office all by myself, which may not be very far (around 500m away), but considering that this package ought to be delivered to me directly, I should not be doing this at all.
I have always had a wonderful impression of DHL, that your company provides good service and delivers promptly. I admit that my location is rather remote, but I would at least expect updated news of my package. When I first checked with my personnel office regarding the address to send to, they even told me that I should change a courier service, to UPS or FedEx, for DHL does not deliver to my location. However, I trusted DHL, and the sender and I agreed that we should continue to use the service of DHL. This incident, however, left me very disappointed with DHL. I corresponded with the sender umpteen times for this package, using international calls, and with DHL using interstate calls, when all these might not have happened, if the sender had used another courier service.
I thank you for your effort and your time for reading my feedback. But I must say that it is a relief that I would not be receiving or sending packages for quite some time.
Regards,
Eunice Phua

Okay, so I am now back after one week. Actually just now I wrote an ultra long entry which accidentally disappeared when I was saving my photos. So sian lor.
Anyway, I had food poisoning yet again! That day while I was working, I suddenly felt very uncomfortable and nauseous. And while I was in one of the occupied rooms, I threw up all of a sudden. Luckily I grabbed an ice bag in time, and after that I took a rest and aik helped me to check my remaining rooms. But luckily, this time the food poisoning lasted only one day. That night after I threw up in total of 5 or 6 times and had diarrhea for about 3 times I felt better. So this time I really recovered very fast.
But these few days although I just recovered not too long ago, I have gone for 2 hikes in 2 days. Went to mystic falls and also to mount washburn. It’s tiring, but I enjoyed myself lah.
Anyway, here are the 2 photos, one is the mystic falls and the other is the mount washburn. =)

okay lah, gotta go now! will update again next time. =)

okay okay, i'm back. this time i will post up some overdued entries that i have written. =)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
it's really such a pain to book flight tickets. we have been coming to bitterroot for like 3 days in a row, and i have been napping here for 3 days in a row. i hate this man, no wonder i think i can only go with tour agents so that they can be the ones who settle it. but i guess now that we are here, we don't really have a choice other than to book it on our own. we are trying to book it using my debit card, but in the end, they used xz's card to deduct instead, which is the one that we used to book our hotels, and coz it didn't have enough money, then the booking didn't go through.
and now, we have to start working at like 7.40am, coz we have been promoted to team leaders. pay is higher also, but seriously, it's quite tiring sometimes. and i have no idea why, but today aik and i are both under training, but they made both of us head a team. nearly want to die coz we had so so many things to do. think it's coz we had the wrong approach to things. but well, it's over already, and to think i am threoretically training someone tmr. dunno what is going on lor. but hope that everything will be fine tmr lah.
everything is fine here, but i must say, even after 1 month here, i still have not gotten used to all the f words that people are using. and i really get very pissed off when ppl start to scold it. and quite many ppl are getting into the habit of scolding it, even ppl in our group, so i am really pissed off sometimes. but well, at least i am trying to get used to it. okay lah, i shall stop here coz we are all trying to settle our flights now. kk. that's all then.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Actually now that I have been here for 38 days already, I really think that I will miss this place when I get back to Singapore. This place is nice, no academic stress, and it’s actually quite laid back if you think about it. Other than the fact that there is this nagging thought of the fines that we have to pay and ppl are trying to work their asses off, this place is wonderful. I like the fact that I’m meeting new people everyday, I like the fact that people are quite open here. However, I’m not saying that I want to live here forever or something. I miss Singapore too, I miss my family, I miss my friends, I miss having lessons, I miss going to school. I miss just talking crap to the chem clique and I wonder how my students are doing now. But this is really an experience that is different, an experience that only fellow people who are here will know, and only our group will know the agony of learning that you have gotten into hot soup. I don’t know how things will turn out for the court hearing, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed, and hoping for the best.

too many things have happened lately. really too many. but i don't really have time to update now. but just to put it simply, we have had a lot of trouble with the park rangers (ie. with the law) so now, to pay off the debt that we are in, we have to work very hard, so that we will get more money. so sad man. but well, because of that, i don't have time to be sad about my exam results i guess. but well, because i'm working hard, i think i will not update too often, and now there is something wrong with my com so now i'm using xz's com.
hm, but other than that, nothing much lah, coz everyday is almost similar, just working harder and harder, and then sleeping. very tired everyday. hm, okay lah, it's very late here already, over midnight. getting a slight headache at not having enough sleep already. k. will stop here. hopefully the next entry would be happier. k lah, that's all!
