Shibam

Image
From 73 Fascinating Historical Cities Of The World: "The houses of Shibam are all made out of mud brick and about 500 of them are tower houses, which rise 5 to 11 stories high, with each floor having one or two rooms. This architectural style was used in order to protect residents from Bedouin attacks."

Jaws: "I showed this photo to my wife, and she immediately thought it was a photo of a painting or drawing. Nope. I was walking around Shinjukugoyen (park) and there's this bridge that goes over some water. In that water are a bunch of these fish. It just happened that this one was coming right towards the surface and I aimed down and took one shot. And this is what I got."

Show TV series names on an iPad

ipad tv show names - I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere but I noticed after applying the latest iTunes update (10.2.2) that Apple have finally fixed the bug where the name of the TV series didn't appear under the icon. Yay!

WWF Fun

WASHIER - Dude, that's 7 letters to start the game, but shouldn't one of them have been on the double word?

Image
Just over the line by a couple of points here, but what gives with 3 points for the triple word two ways?

Image
Busting the 500 - not a bad score.

Image
What the heck with the random 'E'? It was there for a couple of turns then the app said that it needed to "repair my games" and quit on me. The game disappeared from my list when I restarted.

Image
FARKED - Someone should let Drew Curtis know.

Image
SQUELCH - Nice 7 letter join up, if I do say so myself.

Image
WANKER - See next picture.

Image
JISMS - See previous picture.

Image
ACQUIRE - 162 points, nuff said.

The Punch

The Dawn Blog: "An Indian boy decides to come out of the sandooqcha with his British boyfriend to his middle-class Indian parents. They drop hint after hint to the clueless parents, who keep missing the lobs like Maria Sharapova on clay, until the gay couple declare the full nature of their relationship. The parents forbid him from being gay. Desperate for his parents to accept him, the boy goes up to them and says: “Look, I’m still the same person.” The mother hisses to her son: “You couldn’t have found a nice Indian boy?”"
