We had an amazing time at the Whidden reunion at Jared and Julie's house this summer the last week of July into the beginning of August.
Ben looking a little more amused with my annoying selfies. I will be sad when selfies are no longer "cool"
Jared and Julie were kind enough to host most of the Whidden's for our family reunion this summer. It was so nice to go up and spend a few days in a really peaceful part of the world.
It was especially nice to see some of the cousins we hadn't met yet.
We had a really good time visiting, eating, playing, sleeping, hiking, walking, fishing and just hanging out with family. It is so amazing that when we all get together it doesn't feel like we spent anytime apart. We start right back up having fun
Lots of pics on our hike up to Paradise falls? I have no idea if that is the name....I think it is??
We have a Lawyer in the family!! woot woot
Resting babies
Gorgeous Ashton
This is not a posed picture, I was just in the right place at the right time.
Lots of chatting and catching up.
Showing off my new favorite shirt. Those that know me well or hang out with me a lot, know that I say that a lot.......good luck with that:)
Lots of space to play and sleep. So glad we were able to see there amazing residence!!
We went over to this abandoned mine.....it was so amazing! we had such a good time, I could have spent a lot of time there looking through things and maybe taking a few things as memorabilia....but I left it behind.
We went into this office that still had all of the personnel files, with all the employees names, ages and wages. It was so awesome to look through those files and see what job title they had and the wages that they were making. We also saw some seismographs as well as flow charts of employee schedules.
We had such an amazing time....some of the highlights was seeing Jared and Julies place, meeting the new cousins, going into the abandoned mine, going for a walk with Nellie and getting caught on the wrong side of the tracks and wading through the river to get back to homebase. Hanging out at the lake and hiking with Allie. Having some good talks with my sisters from other misters.....
Nellie and I decided to take a detour home and this was part of our view.
We also went and checked out the old Coleman school. The day after we got there they boarded it up so we had to get creative on how to get in.
Nellie was the mastermind behind the whole thing she helped me get in through a window and then I took a ladder and put it out the window so others could get in. The only ones that wanted to after that fiasco was Seth and I.
He got a pretty good cut to take home with him as a reminder of our adventure in this spooky school
This was one of the old oven's left in the school
Seth pre-sliced his leg situation
We flew into Helena because all the flights were full and so we rented a car and drove up from there. Luckily we rented the sweetest ride EVER. Im sorry I am a car snob...but I love suburbans and this one was the best of the best. A black LTZ....and if you know Chevy that is really awesome. I loved driving it. It made the drive back very comfortable.
The flights were full on the way up so I had to stay back and fly into Calgary instead of Helena.
This was my view the night I flew in. It was so gorgeous!!!!
Not too bad of a situation that I get to sit in first class and not have any distractions:)
Sunset in SLC
The overall look at my time on the flight up to Calgary. Not a bad gig that is for sure.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! Jared and Jules for hosting, you guys were so gracious, accommodating and made it so much fun. Thank you again, I hope we can do it again up there someday.
