August. 1 1/2 year olds. 7th grader

Image
(My cute girls. I love this picture. P.s. There are more pics after all the typing if you wanted to skip my nonsense rambling)
My girls are 1 1/2 years old. I like saying that instead of the months because it sounds weird to me saying they are 18 months or 27 or 42 months. I don't like doing anymore math then I need to and I like math! so I can only imagine those math haters out their trying to subtract 27-24 to guess that they are about 2 and something months old. Just an example.
I look at pictures of them from when they turned one and wow they have changed. Yikes. Babies! Slow down. I mean seriously. Yet with every day older comes new discoveries and funny cute things they do. I wouldn't give up them today for them 6 months ago. I just love each new day.
So let's see. As of lately they are doing so many new things since I last posted in April. Sorry it took so long. I had a bad taste for blogs for a few months and couldn't bring myself to blog for awhile but I'm over it. Some people are just haters and that is out of my control. Anywho...
So yeah, we had summer and it was wildly uh uneventful actually. We intended to take the kids on vacation or go camping but the thought of it an the craziness involved with chasing two active 1 year olds was so exhausting we never quite made it out of the planning stages. We did slip away to a cabin for an overnighter with my parents and Noah. That was nice. There is just something about the mountains.
Autumn is back in school. She's a 7th grader now and that's crazy close to being in high school. So crazy. She is an awesome big sister and a huge help at home. But like any other 12 year old she has her days. She loves to annoy us, especially in the car and asks us to change the station or turn it up the instant we start the car. She takes over an hour to get ready all the while I'm getting the twins ready (which can seriously take an hour) and then I jump in the car and get ready at the stoplights. No joke. When I dance or sing in the car, it embarrasses autumn as to be expected and yeah. She's a pre-teen y'all. Bring it on! But she's growing into such a beauty. She has the most gorgeous long eyelashes and naturally wavy hair. I highlighted her hair and it looks so pretty on her. She wears make up now and loves clothes and shoes and changing her outfit atleast 4 times before she decides on one. (Which explains the hour to get ready and the mound of clothes in every corner of her room)
Delaney is a whopping 21.6 pounds and is 32 3/4 inches tall. Yeah she's a bit petite but still growing normal so no worry. She is so dang smart an sometimes we compare her to Paisley which I know we shouldn't but the doc says Delaney is advanced and Paisley is normal so that's reassuring. Delaney always did things a month to two months before Paisley. Delaney speaks a lot. She mimics everything we say and do. My favorite the other day was when she came to me in the kitchen and said: "owie, cold, cold". I looked to see an ice cube in her hand. Haha. She always asks to get the "mail mail" and when you say to her "do you need a spankin?" She pats herself on the bottom. Yes if my child runs for the street and doesn't stop when I say "stop" or "no" she gets a smack to her bottom. I'm guessing those diapers were meant for more than just cleaning up messes but for cushioning those bums from spankins. And now she doesn't run in the street and waits to "hold hands" before she steps out to get the "mail mail". Speaking if those diapers. I bought a potty toilet for cheap and thought I'd probably need it someday. Well Delaney played with it and sat in it and I showed her with her diaper off is how she sits on it. Well one day she ran in our room and pointed to her potty chair so I got it down and she sat on it and by golly that girl pushed and pooped in it. I was a little stunned and so I thought well if she wants to potty train I better go with it and not miss that window. Well I think that moment was a fluke. After 4 messed pull ups, we put it on hold. She is barely learning to say poo poo and pee pee. So maybe in another 6 months she'll be roarin to go.
Paisley is weighing in at 21.9 and is 32 1/4 in tall. So she's a wee bit chunkier and that is mostly from her thighs and booty. Sorry Pais, you got what your momma gave you. But she is so cute when she runs and those chunky legs move so stinkin fast. I love it. Paisley is our fast and furious fearless girl. She loves being thrown in the air and loves swinging and sliding, even the big slides don't phase her. Delaney is the complete opposite. She will climb up the play set and watch sister go down but will freak out if you try making her. She has gone down the tiny slide (like 2 feet) and that's her max. Ha.
Paisley is such a little mother. She always makes sure that sister has a snack and a drink and mommy too then she will eat hers. She has a baby doll (they both do actually) and they love to swaddle them, give them babbas, binkies and pat them on the back or rock them. It is quite possibly the most adorable thing I've ever seen. It makes my eyes water to see how sweet and mothering they are. Oh my. I just love it. On the flip side of Paisley's sweet mothering quality, she can get real angry and throw some cute, stomp her feet tantrums. It's usually when Delaney has something that Paisley decides she HAS to have. She can get real nasty and rip it out of Delaney's hands, hit her to get it if she won't give it up and makes a run for it once she has it. She has a problem with the "I want what she has" syndrome. Ha. When it comes to sharing, the girls are surprisingly awesome at it. But sharing means waiting to play with it until the other person is done. If it's something they both see and want at the same time, we set a very short time limit with one and then switch and that goes on until one loses interest and finds something else to play with. It's really fantastic having twins in a lot of ways but having toddlers that already know how to play well with other toddlers, in my mind, is a huge relief. And Paisley's little anger outbursts usually are directed at Delaney. So far none of the Nursery kids at church have seen it so thats great.
Speaking of nursery. They began going when they were 17 months and both loved it. Then when we started leaving them alone Delaney struggled. She was doing fantastic until she pooped one day, so I came and got her. Changed her. She waved at dad in the library but seemed eager to get back to her snack and fun. Then I turned to head out the door and she lost it. The saddest cry ever! I ended up taking her with me and Paisley just did her thing. Seriously, Paisley loves it and thinks she's in Disneyland or something. She just runs around singing and squealing and loves all the activities and music time and snacks. Two very different girls I have. Delaney has always been a bit of a momma's girl. But she will do great. The next week I stayed for an hour and slipped out. She did good.
They love riding around the neighborhood in a little red wagon that grandpa Bryce let us borrow. They LOVE it. And it's pretty adorable to see not one but two little cuties with their pebbles ponytails sticking straight up riding down the road.
They love being outside. Delaney stands at the door or window and says "side? Side?" They run barefoot and get dirty little feet, scuffed up knees with "owies" on them and dirty little red faces from playing so hard. It's so cute. I love that they love playing, getting dirty and being outside.
They are officially off the bottle. They had one before church on Sunday a week ago and now it's like they never had them before. They were really only drinking them at bed time or maybe in the morning. If I gave them milk in the morning or day, it was in a sippy cup. So I bagged up all the bottles and threw them on the top shelf. It was a sad moment. A "my babes aren't babies anymore" moment. When Delaney wants her drink she says "cup, cup". They are both very good at communicating. This week paisley has just started talking like crazy. Typical, a month or so behind sister. I heard autumn tell paisley to say "please" and she said "pease" then she said say "thank you" and it sounded like "tankooo". So pretty soon we'll have two more chatty Kathy's in the house. Me and autumn being the others.
Well I better wrap this up. I wish I could share all the single funny things they do (I try to for journaling purposes) so I'll just share the few that I can remember. And maybe they are only cute and funny to wade and I when we lay in bed and talk about all the cute things they did that day but those moments are some sweet moments. Nothing like hearing their daddy talk about his little sweethearts.
Delaney is obsessed with her cousin Baby Lawson (jazz and Aaron's little guy). My lock screen in my phone is Lawson because she lights up every time she sees him. I have an entire photo album dedicated to just pictures of Lawson. She calls him "Bebeh". When I tell her to say Lawson, she says "Lawss" or "la la" which I know isn't a favorite of jazz's nicknames for her boy so we will call him "Lawss". Looking at his pics or watching videos of herself and Paisley are her most favorite things right now. Paisley loves to run and play. If I make up some random game she's all over it. I hid books under the pillows and let her lift them up and find them and she was so stoked!! She is SO my child, she gets so excited about the littlest things just like me. They have music time in nursery and they play this cd and walk around waving flags it clacking two sticks together. She gets so excited to march around. It is hilarious to watch.
Well it's Labor Day weekend and I've got two sick babies. So we are staying home, watching movies and snuggling all weekend. If they are still sick tomorrow, I will probably skip church and stay home why them. Which will strange since I can't remember the last time I skipped church. Probably that month after I had the twins was the last time. I really do love church even though I literally wrestle both of them during sacrament meeting. They want to climb on me, not Wade or autumn, the whole time then when they both can't be entertained they start to scream and make a scene so I scoop them both up and whisk them out of there under both my arms, which is probably a bigger scene. Then last Sunday after I had done the above, one of them pooped so I had to walk back in with both, have wade hand me the diaper bag while I'm holding their hands and they are walking and Delaney takes off for the front of the chapel. Oh man. So I've got no choice but to hustle after her. I should have handed paisley off but wade and autumn somehow got trapped on the inside of the back pew with people on both sides (mission farewell) so I was the Lone Ranger walking to the front while my daughter is 10 steps ahead of me keeping one eye on me and waving and smiling at everyone she walks by. After walking past the front bench I thought she'd head back up the aisle to the back where we started this whole thing but she took a hard right and headed for the stairs to the pulpit. I caught her just as she headed up them and did the walk of shame back up the aisle and out the door trying not to make eye contact with anyone except my husband who was laughing which made me smile and thankfully it was during the rest hymn so no talks were interrupted during this. So my point is that I love church. Even with the challenge of twin toddlers. I love it still. I hope you all are blessed in your trials and challenges and in your moments of happiness and joy too. This life is our test and we must endure it well. I've said this before but when the going gets tough, I'm reminded of my blessings and how grateful I am to have them because I knew the heartache of not having them so I'm so grateful that I am blessed with my husband and three beautiful daughters, our health, our home, our jobs and our family. And I'm eternally grateful for my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ.

May and June alas!! (Wrote in June, Posted in August. Oopsy)

{So this post was written in June and well, my computer/phone were so annoying that it never got posted.  I'm sitting at Jiffy Lube getting my oil changed using their free WiFi to post my August Post and found this one. [Sidenote: The fact that we don't have WiFI is because I'm sick of paying an arm and a leg for it when we ALWAYS use our phones. So we went internetless at home.  Yikes. ]  So I will just post it for the "what we did in May and Jun"e update.  The pictures didn't transfer and it made me so mad that I gave up on it.  So This post has no pics.  Sorry. }

So it's officially summer! Let the yard work and outdoor activities begin! My girls are loving being outside and in the dirt/mud/water. We filled up a pool with about 3-4 inches of water. It's actually on a slant so one side is like 1/2 inch and the other side is like 4 inches. They love walking around in the water and throwing their toys in to make them splash.
We started running in the mornings. Me, Autumn (sometimes unwilling but still goes) and Paisley & Delaney in the double jogging stroller. So glad I happened upon that stroller on Craigslist. Best 50 dollar find! It is nice because it's not too hot outside and we all like getting out of the house.

We let the girls discover the art of coloring crayons. Delaney ate them mostly but drew a little. Paisley loved drawing. They are still too little to be let loose with crayons so the highchair is their art station.

I got to help throw jazz a baby shower to welcome her sweet baby boy come July 4th. These are unfortunately the only pics I have.  I made this baseball flag for her baby boys Amercian sports themed nursery.  I think it turned out pretty cute. Pretend that tape isn't there holding the last ball in place while the gorilla glue works it's magic  My mom and dad and I made about 250 of the baseball basketball sugar cookies. They were so cute and these two banged up ones don't do them justice  it wasa sports Americana themed shower with concession stands food. It was a lot of fun and had amazing help from her two good friends and two sister in laws. Thank goodness. Hopefully she will feel a bit more prepared  so excited to meet my little nephew in less than a month.

Grandma brought the girls some ice cream from McDonald's. Let's jus say they lovd it. They love when grandma Pam stops by. The other day she stopped by and they just stay screaming and running around like crazy people. It's so cute. They sure love her

We also started this summer calendar thing. We follow these day schedules and it makes our weeks so much more interesting and a lot less boring. It's actually been a lot of fun. Glad I came across this on Pinterest.

The girls are 15 1/2 months old. Holy cow they are changing so much. They are little jabber bugs and love to be silly. They love squealing and showing off, dancing, reading books, singing and trying to actually communicate with us. It's pretty funny, you can almost read their little minds when they are doing something. Something that absolutely melts my heart is at the end of the day we say "It's time for prayer" and Delaney comes running and slides onto her knees then starts jabbering like she's saying the prayer. Paisley will squat down and hold her hands together instead of kneel. Then at the end of the prayer a we are saying Amen, Delaney shouts "Maymen!" I need o catch it on video but then again it while we are praying so yeah. She is so funny and picks up on everything. Then after prayer we give hugs and the babies go around the room giving me and wade and autumn hugs. Sometimes we have them give each other hugs but it ends up turning into a bit of a wrestling match. They are both good at kisses too. our little girls are very loving and affectionate and it melts my heart. They are both weighing 20 lbs and are 29 inches tall. We got them new convertible car seats and they like them better. More leg room. Other milestones: paisley learned how to walk in heels. Delaney prefers flats or flip flops. Haha.
For Memorial Day we wet out to th Melba cemetery. I wanted Autumn to visit the family graves where a lot of Wades family is buried. It is a beautiful place and sits a top the hill and has gorgeous views of the owyhee mountains. I think someday that's where Wade and I will be buried. But it was really special to talk about those who have passed and to see the twins walk around and look at the graves too. We then went up to Melba park and had a picnic and it was so nice and peaceful. A great way to begin summer and it made for a great FHe activity.
Well the girls are napping and I've got things to get done. So I best be getting to it.

Twinning and Photo overload

These girls I tell ya. I need to start writing down the things they do and say (well babble) more or I know I will forget. They have such strong personalities now and I just love watching them every day.
They are 14 months old on April 21. I haven't posted pics since they were 12 months. So this is a bit of a picture overload from the last two months. Although, it's not really an overload.  I attempted to make a Shutterfly book and have like 3000 pictures of them.  Holy pictures and they aren't even from a fancy camera.  I'd be in trouble if I had one of those.
Some things they do that I absolutely love:
At noon when they hear the garage door open, they jump to their feet and start yelling "Da Da Da" or they just squeal with excitement. They know that when that door opens it's dad and it's the cutest thing ever. They also do the same thing at 5:00 when the back door opens. I love when they get tired at night and all they want to do is crawl up on momma and snuggle or lay their head down.  When one does it, the other sees and comes running and climbs on top of me too.  And I love it.  Double snuggles are the best.  They also get so excited to see Momma and Dadda when we leave for a date night and come home.  I love how excited they get (I think they inherited that from mom for sure).
They both clap really well. If we raise our hands in the air and say "yay!!" They will start clapping or if anyone starts clapping they will too. Like at Noah's games they love watching and clapping and yelling. It's pretty cute. We've been teaching them to kneel with us for family prayer and fold their arms and Delaney is starting to fold her arms when we do it. So adorable. They are great at waving bye bye and night night and hi.  They love to wave at random people too.  It's cute, they are getting used to people coming up to them and every time someone says "are they twins?" both girls turn their heads.  I think they've heard it so many times that they relate to it now. But they both have stranger danger so that makes me feel better.  If someone tries to talk to them directly, they get a scared face and sometimes start to cry.  They both copy mom's surprise sound, the one you make when you suck air in...like if you see a car almost in an accident, you make that noise....well it's hard to type what that noise is and well, the girls both do it.  It's funny.  They both love being outside and get all excited to run out the door when I let them. They love listening to the dogs next door and I caught a picture of them looking through the crack of the fence at the neighbors Chihuahuas.  They were careful enough to stay far enough back but still wanted to see them. They both will bring me things, like socks or clothes or diapers and when I say Where's your binky? They both start looking. They both play peek a boo really well. They both love dancing to music when they hear a good beat. They like to hear their feet while they are wearing shoes and stomping on the hard floors.  They also love their tutus and when they pull them out of their room or closet or wherever, they bring them to us and turn around so we can tie them around their waste.  Typical girly girls and I LOVE that! So that's some of the things they both do.  Now I have some things they do individually listed below.  It's a long list and is really for journaling purposes but it's cute things to read and remember.  Someday they will like it right?  Well, I will atleast so that's good.

Delaney is such a funny and cute little girl.
She makes all sorts of sounds and says a lot of words.
She makes the sound of the dogs (which is a yippee dog next door so it's more that sound), she copies almost everything you do (that could get scary, gotta be careful what we do now).
She reads books and says " blah blah blah" as she reads them.
She loves climbing up on her little chairs, or grandmas fireplace step.
She runs everywhere she goes.
She loves Diet Pepsi and insists on drinking mine if I have one. Silly girl.
When she wants you to read her a book or just hold her, she will come up to you and turn around then back up onto your lap. She needs a little beep signal on her like a truck. Haha.
She LOVES being outside and also eats dirt (like Aunt Jazz). Ha
She has the funniest teethy grin especially when she knows she's being naughty. She scrunches up her nose and shows all her cute teeth.
She picks on Paisley by pulling her hair, pushing her, sticking her fingers in Paisley's mouth and occasionally tackles her and smacks her. I promise I try to intercept her naughty ways often but she is sneaky and fast. Scary. But these things happen very rarely.  Like maybe once a week.  Don't worry.
She does know "No" but she chooses not to listen when we say it. She waits for us to say No then she giggles and does what she's not supposed to do.
She gives Hi-Fives.
She will hold up 1 finger when you ask how old she is, then you ask her where her nose is and she promptly points to her nose. We are trying to teach her tummy but every time we ask her where her tummy is she points to the wall and says Da. Not sure what she thinks we are asking her. Ha.
She is great at blowing kisses.
When you open your arms up wide for a hug, she will come running and give you a big hug.
She also lights up when she sees her grandma Pam and Grandpa Todd, she loves when they babysit and gets all giddy to see them. She points to pictures of them and says "uh uh UH!"
Some of Delaney's words are: dada, momma, Jesus (she sees his pictures and points and says his name. So cute!), ball, papa, doe doe, Au-um (autumn-she can't quite get the t in there) Dah (dog), blah blah, jazz, hi, baba (bottle), bebe (binky), baby, sisser or sis (for paisley), bye bye, peek-boo, its-bits(for itsy bitsy spider and she puts her little hands together when we do it) ticka-ticka-ticka (when we tickle her), choo-choo. And today Wade was saying Apple to her and she said "appa".  It's kind of freaky how well she copies us.  It's a ton of words for her age. Paisley doesn't say nearly this many.
Delaney is a little sponge for learning and she picks up things so quickly. It kind of amazes me. I love her spunky little personality but she has the most tender heart and can get her little feelings hurt instantly. She makes a pretty good sad face and it gets her what she wants most of the time. I sure love this little mini-me.

Paisley is such a sweetheart.
She really puts up with a lot from Delaney so it has made her pretty easy going.
When Delaney starts playing with her they both start giggling pretty hard. It's so cute and then all of the sudden Delaney whacks her and she's crying. Poor thing. It's hard to chase them both around to make sure they are always playing nice.
Unfortunately or fortunately Paisley has a sassy side too.
She loves stealing whatever Delaney has. Perhaps she is really the instigator of the wrath of Delaney and I just don't see it. Which would make sense because I was totally that sweet angel child who provoked my sister and she would hit me and she would get in trouble instead of me. Haha. Guess I've got a little of both in my girls. Yikes.
Paisley has the sweetest morning smiles. When she wakes up, the look she gives you can almost melt your whole heart. Its Autumns favorite thing about Paisley.
She only has two teeth but she has the biggest smile. She will flash you the biggest flirtiest smile and it can turn a bad day good instantly.
Paisley takes to men more than Delaney. Like she's more of a daddy's and grandpas girl and Delaney is a momma and grandma girl. In a crowd of family, Paisley likes interacting with the boys more. Strange....possibly scary for the future.
She loves her pink shoes, she will find them in the diaper bag and bring them to me to put them on.
She is like a puppy and begs her daddy for food all the time.
She is my sugar girl. When dad has cookies, candy, ice cream, she can almost sniff it out and comes running and makes a whimpering noise begging for a bite.
Paisley loves loading and unloading just about anything. She is currently unloading an entire box of fiber plus bars and trying to carry them all at once, and then she puts them all in the bottom drawer of my cabinets. She loves free reign on our sock drawer too.
Paisley does the funniest walk, we call it the gorilla walk because she slumps her shoulders and lets her arms swing freely. She really looks like a gorilla when she does it. It's so funny.
She loves throwing balls and trying to catch them. Whereas Delaney prefers kicking them.
Paisley prefers to snuggle before bed and does not go down easy without it.
She is such a sweetie pie and is in her own little world of play and toys and reading books.
She could sit and turn the pages of books for so long. She studies each page and looks at all the pictures on the page.
She also loves studying people too. She's a thinker and perhaps she just isn't verbalizing it like Delaney does.
She also is obsessed with TV. She loves watching anything on TV. It puts her into a zone or something.
She loves singing songs with momma and in church.
She is a little helper and brings me things when I ask her.
Paisley loves to talk a lot. She sits there with a book and just babbles a ton. She will then come up to whoever and just babble. It's cute because her little voice will raise and lower like she's really talking to us about something.
Some of Paisley's words are : dada, momma, Jesus, hi, yeah. Like I said she doesn't say nearly as many as Delaney but she still tries to communicate so I'm not worried.
Paisley is such a joy. She's more mellow in a lot of things but has lungs of steel when it comes to a loud long scream. Sheesh. That girl can hit some high notes too.
I can't imagine my life without both of these little girls at the same time. They are so different but they seem to compliment each other so much so there's no doubt they needed to come together at the same time. Being a mother to these itty bitty sweethearts is a joy that I never knew was possible. I take moments one day at a time and try to hold them when I get the chance. and I really try to find the chance more often than not.  I waited a long time to hold a sweet baby in my arms and I was doubly blessed and thankfully I have two arms because they are both full often. They still love to be snuggled so I still do it. I hope they never grow out of that. I can't thank my Heavenly Father enough for blessing me and trusting me with two of his most choice spirits.  They truly are special girls.
And now...for the picture overload.  Enjoy!

I just need to blog or I will forget

I keep waiting and waiting to blog until I have some free time and I never have free time. Ugh. So I am blogging from my iPhone at 10:00 at night after the babies have gone to bed and I've finally gotten a shower in for the day.
March was a busy month because every spare second I had I was doing projects for Autumns 12th birthday bedroom makeover. Seriously for a month whenever the girls were napping or in bed I was in the garage painting or making puffs or something. The surprise reveal was classic. She said "this is the kind of room you always dream you could have or see in a magazine but you never have it...but i DO have it!" Also for her birthday, it was spring break so we went to kneaders for French toast breakfast then to Wahooz for a fun day with a friend. She also got to go to Utah for a couple days to hang out with her cousins (which was perfect so I could finalize her room makeover). Then we had some family over for ice cream cake and I made her favorite dinner "Funeral Sammies" Pinterest search it ( ham and Swiss on Hawaiin rolls with a yummy sauce poured over them and baked). I also gave her a gift that will hopefully last her a lifetime. I had all the women in her life (aunts Grandmas, etc) write her a letter with words of encouragement and advice for being twelve and all that comes with that. I only read Jazz's because she said I could and it brought tears to my eyes. She loved reading all these sweet letters and they are truly helping her at this difficult crossroad in life. When I wrote my letter, 4 pages later and lots of tears too, it sure helped me realize even more what an amazing sweet girl she is. I'm so lucky to be in her life and thankful for her being the daughter who first made me a mom, regardless of how it happened, she is my daughter forever. I love you Autumn!! Happy Birthday!
So without further ado here are the before and after photos of her bedroom:

Crazy February with 1 year old twins

Well, I missed blogging in February.  You really can't blame me because it was Paisley and Delaney's first birthday that month and I basically hand made everything for it.  It took me a while, I started back in the fall for it so I wouldn't be slammed the week of their birthday.  It was a ton of fun.  I seriously had fun planning their "Minnie Twinny" 1st birthday. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse was the first show they became interested in (at like 3 months old) and so I thought it only appropriate to have a fun Minnie Mouse party.
I finally included some pictures.  However, I asked my sister Jazz to take some good pictures with a real camera, so she took a ton and I didn't take quite as many, nor were mine all that great, but I have them and she still has the ones she took (when she stops being so crazy busy, I'll bug her to send them my way).  So Enjoy these pictures from of my sweet Minnie Twinnies.

The day of their birthday, I let Paisley open a couple presents first thing when she woke up because she loves ripping paper.  Se loved her new books.

Image

Image

I also made them Mickey Mouse Pancakes (I know they don't care, but I seriously LOVE birthdays so I was making it special for them and me).

Image

Then we invited Grandma Pam and Grandpa Todd, Aunt Jazzy and Aunt Kam to McDonald's to have their favorite: Chicken Nuggets and fries and to play on the big toys.

Image

Image
They love the toddler play area at Mickey D's and Delaney definitely thought she was atleast 5 and wanted to (and did) run around with the older kids there.  It was so cute, she was screaming and chasing the big kids around. Funny girls.  Paisley just watched and laughed.
Image

Then we all went to Claire's and got their ears pierced!  Cutest little pearl earrings ever and they were such good sports.  They cried for like 15 seconds and then got distracted by all the fun things in the store.  My kinda girls, distracted by pretties!

Image

Image

Then we went home and got all ready for the party.  We frosted their Minnie Mouse cupcakes and put on the oreo ears and Fruit by the foot bows.  So easy to make.
I didn't go wild and crazy with decorations because they are one for heaven's sakes, but I like cute stuff so we cut out some Minnie ears and made Minnie balloons.  Not too wild, no Pinterest overkill party, but still perfect for them and us.  They loved the Minnie balloons after too.

I made their ears (felt and foam hot glued on a clip) and their bows are hot glued on a clip and on a regular black headband.  I sewed the black fabric on their shirts along with the bow and ironed on the letter and their names in Disney font.  Not too shabby for a DIY.
Their tutus I made back at Christmas time (knowing I was going to use them on their bday) and they wore them for Christmas and Valentine's pictures.  Consequently they were used to wearing them and didn't tug at them or bother with them all night.  In fact a few days later, they were dragging them over to me so they could wear them around the house.  That's my girls!

They loved pulling tissue paper out of the bags. I'm so glad they actually were interested in the presents.

I made Mickey Mouse Pizza's.  So cute.

They loved their pizza but they were antsy to get their hands on their cupcakes.  And they devoured their cupcakes like a boss! They get that from dad for sure!

It was fun to have both our families their for their 1st birthday.  It is mighty fun living so close to family.

Our little centers of attention.  They loved it and all the presents.

Their big present from grandma. Even her wrapping matched the party.

The table and chairs that were inside that box.  They felt like pretty big stuff.

The next day we took them to the park for the first time.  They got to swing and this is Delaney first, She wasn't so sure about it.  She enjoyed walking/running up and down the sidewalks instead of playing on the toys.  She saw a big open sidewalk and was in heaven.

Paisley LOVED the swing and swinging high even (not that high, she is only 1 I know). And she loved going down the slides with big sis and then when we let her walk on the sidewalk, she didn't care about distance like her sister, she wanted to stop and survey every item on the sidewalk...
It amazes me how different they are!

I'm still in awe that we made it through an entire year.  I've heard many say that first year is a beast with twins, but I feel like it went perfectly.  I worked so hard and cried many tears to get these little sweethearts here and by golly, I wasn't going to complain one bit about how hard it is.  And so I didn't and you know what, I think it made it easier.  It's all about perspective folks.  If you think its hard and you sike yourself up for hard, then it is probably going to be hard.  But just think, YOU are strong enough to do whatever and to be whatever.
I loved every minute, I savored those early months of their life were I lived in my bedroom with them at arms reach in their crib.  Thank goodness our room was right next to the kitchen or else I may not have eaten that much. In the nights to give dad his much needed rest for his 4:30am work schedule, we ended up out on the couch. (I know, he should have slept on the couch, we'll do that differently next time).  When they were waking up every 3 hours to eat and it took about an hour to get them both fed and back to sleep, it would have made for some very sleepless nights for pops and we didn't want him falling asleep at the wheel for his hour drive at 4:30 so instead I loved and survived the only way I knew how for those first months on naps all day long.  It was all I could do to keep afloat.
Once we moved to Idaho, we made the big switch to their own room and then eventually to their own cribs.  They still liked waking up every 3-4 hours to eat, but I was so used to it and finally got it down to an art that it didn't take an hour anymore to get them back to sleep (also I stopped pumping at night like I was doing the first 4 months and just nursed them when they woke, so warming up milk at night was no longer and that made it much easier to feed them and put them back to sleep).
Then all of the sudden, they weren't teeny babies anymore, they were turning into little people with cute little personalities.  It was so fun and they became so independent.  By golly, they were growing up.  WOW!
Each stage was so sweet and they were just so much fun.  Whenever I think about how hard it is, it immediately takes me back to my infertility days and I realize those days were MUCH harder, then I tear up a little and snuggle that child who has kept me up from 2am-4am and then she drifts off to sleep finally and 30 minutes later her sister wakes up.  And I smile.  I love these little girls and feel so blessed to be their mother.  I am so grateful I've been given this chance by my heavenly Father to watch over some of his sweet children.  He has given me 3 beautiful daughters, on loan, from heaven to raise, watch over and guide in the right direction.  I'm not saying it isn't' hard, because it is, but it is something I will never complain about because this is a calling from God.  Being a mother is one of the greatest gifts on earth, and regardless of how motherhood comes to you (through step-parenting, adoption, or fertility treatments or even the good old fashion way), I want you to know it is the greatest calling on earth. We are partners with our heavenly Father raising his beloved children here on earth.  So next time our kids drive us BONKERS....remember that and remember it is our responsibility to raise them in righteousness.  These innocent little soles are looking to us, that makes me want to be better every single day.  Maybe not a cleaner house, but it makes me want to shove all that laundry out of the way and push all the dirty diapers/toys/books/who knows what else into one corner so their is room on the floor for me to get down on their level and read books or play ball and they love it.  The minute I sit down with them on the floor, they get all giddy and excited.  Get down at their level more often, they love it! I'm talking to myself but you all should do it too..:)
So here's to March, I've got some pretty awesome plans for Autumn's 12th birthday.  She is going into young Women's and it's going to be amazing.  She also gets to go through the temple and do baptisms. I'm so excited for Wade and I to get to take her to the temple for a baptism trip.  It will truly be unforgettable.
Well, miraculously, they babies are still sleeping and I got through this entire post without them waking up!!!!  BUT Autumn just got home from school, so I am outta here.  Motherhood calls!
Thanks for reading and listening to me ramble!
Finally here are their pictures from each month up until they turned one!  OH sad, they were so little.
