I enjoy opera, mostly tenors, not the Wagnerish stuff. Pavarotti is my favorite. But whenever I listen to him, I either start swilling wine, singing at the top of my lungs, crying, making up lyrics, or all of the above. WTF?
Update: Do NOT listen to opera right before bedtime. That music was in my head all night. I got up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, and my brain was singing, “I’ve got to PEE, Ivegottopee Ivegottopee Ivegottopee-ee, I’ve got to pee! I’ve got to pee!
I kinda liked Pavarotti myself…that is until I met a music coach who knew him and said he was a completely conceited jerk who didn’t work hard at his singing.
Go figure? Guess if you have a natural talent it’s easier to be a bit lazy than if you have to work on it every day to be outstanding. That would be me. Except for the outstanding part.
I’ve heard that Kathleen Battle is a major bitch and horrid to work with. I still love her voice though.
I LOVE Kathleen Battle….!
Renata Tebaldi!!!!!
Best,best, best!!!!!
Jussi Bjorling!
I really enjoy Pavarotti, but it becomes a much to emotionally involved experience. Plus it would be better if I felt like swilling something LOL
Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, New Zealand soprano ..Maori …. she has a lovely voice…!
