Fuhhh....its been along time....
This year i considered bad year for me fishing...too many trips hit by storm...
For year-end closure, Mukhtar invites me for his jarak trip in december with GT chaser.
After detail consideration, i accept his offer. Now i have to dig back all my equipments. Maybe check all the lines, hooks, jigs, poppers, etc. The date chosen gonna be dark moon, so jigging in very fast water, maybe 200-350g jigs.....but no new shopping...only use what i have :)

Hiro-san amazed with his 15kg garouper. Taken on his MC Works blank jig rod. He even hold the spool when the fish tried to get back to its hole.

Dulang-Pulai Trip - 23-27 May 2009

My friend Black form Lumut offered me this trip with Che Mat of Kuala Besut. Trip will cover Dulang, Semangkok, Tapis n Pulai oilrigs. Still haven't decide what to bring, but the main agenda is popping GTs and jigging for big eyes. Bottoma will target red snapper. Distance from Kuala Besut to Pulai rig via Dulang is 181 nautical miles = 335km. Hopefully the NE monsoon is over.

Have been told by Black "Organiser", that this trip is meant for popping n jigging. Bottom fishing will be done when the boat is parked or in "rest" mode. Water depth ranging from 60 -91m.

Tukun Perak: 16-18 Jan 2009

Season opening trip - Last minute replacement. 

Tukun Perak / Pulau Perak situated 87 nautical mile/162km northeast of Penang Island. 

Geographically located at latitude 5 41.0 degrees North of the Equator and longitude 98 56.0 degrees East of the Prime Meridian.  

Average water depth is 80-100m with some says deep holes can goes up to 120m.

Common fish caught by anglers include GTs, mangroove jack, spanish mackerel, red/gold snappers.

The trip was "BAD" due to the NE wind blown @ 30-50 knot creating white cap and swells.  We had to take shelter behind the island.  Even the local fishing boats also took shelter.  We entertained ourself by fishing small fish behind the island. Only Darren caught a 4kg spanish mackerel and a good size "tiger" garouper.  Rest of us only caught small "coral trout".

On the way back, we stopped at 2 ship wrecks i.e ?147 and russian wreck.  Both spots = zero fish.

u need a good boat with stabilizer to pop in this situation.
