Delaney had to have surgery on her pinky after breaking it twice.
She's been a real trooper through a very long process of healing.

Summer

Most of these highlights don't include the kids but that is the Empty Nest life these days.  I love the life we are living but sometimes I can't help but wish they were with us especially when it feels like we spend more time with Josh and Bailee then our own children.  It's just weird after 18 years where your life revolves around your children and then suddenly everyone has many different experiences.  In the end... that is just life and the way it's suppose to be. What matters most is that they are thriving and in some ways we are as well.  I look back on this summer and remember many moments of joy and laugher and feel beyond grateful that I am able to embrace a new season of life.

No better way to kick off the summer than at the lake with friends.

Day on the River with friends

Our trip to Costa Rica was a definite highlight of the summer.  We stayed in house with the most beautiful view.  Any trip that includes our people, a few drinks and a van always proves to produces many moments of laughter.

ZB Concert in OKC

In may, we were blessed with about a week before the kids scattered to their summer jobs.  I even got to spend Mother's day with all three kids.

Jax had a friend who was selling Zach Bryan tickets and Delaney and I were lucky enough to snag them at the last minute.  Rick told us to rent a room but Delaney wanted to be back to attend church at the Park.  It was a great evening until we got stuck on the highway-forced to take a 2hour detour.  I hadn't seen the wee hours of the morning in quite some time but it was all worth it.
