The Afternoon Gentlemen – grind in the mind 7″ [2014]

a4198085915_10

The Afternoon Gentlemen is actually one of my most favorite grindcore power violence band around. Mixing equal parts of Spazz and Insect Warfare all their releases are always a storm. Here’s their new self released 300 ltd 7″ issued last month (buy it while you can). Their first studio LP should be out this year on Bones Brigade Records and Dead Heroes Records. We’re all damn excited about it. Grind!

Tracklist:
Split 7″ With Cyborg
Split 7″ With OSK

‘Afterdoom’ CD EP
The Afternoon Gentlemen from UK is one of the best grind/power violence act right now, their style has much in common with Spazz and Weekend Nachos, with double vocals and blasting drums all along. Since this is a 38 tracklist for like 44 minutes you should know what to expect. Fuck!

The record was self released, with silkscreened boxes, and a few labels are involved in this album, from Uruguay (En Los Nervios, Crecer Records and La Turba Ediciones), Argentina (Comunidad del Fuego Discos) and the Netherlands (Fuck It I Quit).

“Dystopia” LP (2008)
Between all the great bands coming out from 90s grind crust sludge maelstrom, Dystopia is absolutely one of my top favorite and surely one of the most criminally underrated bands of that era. With extensive tours all over USA, Europe and Japan (if my memory doesn’t fail me) they forged their name into the hearts of thousands of punx and metalheads all over the world. But for some strange reason, their name is not so well remembered today as it should deserve… What made Dystopia so special was: the name (fuck yeah!); their sound which was a unique mixture of grind, sludge and crust elements enriched by a great use of samples… this band really has its own trademark and its sound and songwriting were unique and immediately recognisable. They also had a brilliant and distinctive artwork (curated by band members themselves). Their cover artworks and lyric booklets were all amazing and filled with drawings, collages and lettering always personal and on top. And, needless to say, their awesome lyrics deeply routed into misanthropy, animal rights, ecologism, veganism and racial equality. And yes… their live sets were every time a pure fucking blast (I saw them three times and they always blew me out like few other times in my life)!!! And to complete their d.i.y. supreme attitude all their releases were put out by their own record labels (Life is Abuse Records and Misanthropic Records). Hailing from California, this awesome trio was formed by ex members of Carcinogen, Mindrot, Cantankerous and Confrontation. But Dino, Todd and Maus never stopped their activities and during all these years they played in: Kicker, Asunder, Ghoul, Drain The Sky, Medication Time, Mange, Agrimony, Phobia, Kontraklasse, Screaming Foetus, Insidious and Lachrymose.

12. Monolith
13. Reductive Living
14. Efficiency Expert
15. White Glove Test
16. Deep Brain Stimulation Device
17. Nothing
18. Industry Endings
Whoa it’s finally here, new record same old attitude.

White Glove Test is IRON LUNG’s third studio album and follow-up to 2007’s wildly successful Sexless//No Sex. What started out being the “slow industrial” concept album and pointedly left-field endeavor turned into a frantically paranoid and claustrophobic power-violence masterpiece complete with water tight stop/start compositions leading the way to crushing sludge bits intermingled with blistering hardcore pummel. It’s what adults of the Cold War era would refer to as “your typical kill-your-mother-kill-your-father type stuff”.

Debut record on Three One G, by this Italian duo (bass/drums), sick and dynamic songwriting combined with utter crazy riffs, ther’s also a collaboration with Justin Pearson (The Locust, owner of the label). Technical and astonishing, don’t miss this.
