Guess who's walking!

Wiggle Wallet and I have had a busy last few weeks. Grandpa has been gone for two weeks and we miss him.

I've been trying to take Wyatt to do more activities lately. We've been swimming a few times, and we've gone to the mall a lot recently and Wyatt's enjoyed their play area in between shopping.
Wyatt has also started to really take off walking these past two days... I do not know what I am going to do! He is such a handful now. This Sunday was the first day at Church that Wyatt has been walking and he would not sit still at all. I don't think I heard what any of the lessons were about because I was too busy chasing him around.
At home we have taken all the knobs off the stove so he doesn't try to cook on his own. He's just into everything, he loves to empty any open drawer and then momma gets to put it all back. When Grandpa gets home we'll have some more baby proofing to do!

I just finished hosting a baby shower with The Judith for a girlfriend of ours. It was so much fun to see all the cute baby girl clothes. We hope she had a great time, but we think it was a success.

Here are just some random pictures of Wyatt and what he's been up to at home...

Buckets of fun

Grandpa and I discovered that Wyatt loves buckets full of water to play in. Probably as much as his pool, or maybe more since he can stand up and play with his toys. He is fascinated with this green sprinkler head that attaches to the hose and loves putting it under water to watch the water trickle out of the holes. I'll try to upload some video, but I haven't had any success with that recently. We have had such great weather lately and Wyatt loves to be outside. Between Grandma, Grandpa and myself Wyatt has been getting a lot of vitamin D. I just love the summer!

Wallet turned One

Wiggle Wallet and I have been having a lot of fun together this summer. He is the sunshine in my life right now. Wyatt just turned one on July 5th. We had a family party for him that day and then a big "fun in the sun" party last Saturday. I cannot upload video and it is very frustrating but at least I can post some pictures...

ImageWe had lots of friends over for our party and it was a huge success. I sent all the kids home with squirt guns and pirate treasure. We had a slip-n-slide, sprinklers, the sandbox, kiddie pool, great food, and Grandpa busted out the bottle rocket launcher. It was a huge hit with the older kids. I had the kids go on a treasure hunt which they seemed to enjoy. Grandpa found this tugboat sandbox online which Wyatt loves, here he is with his favorite toy (his shovel). The other kids enjoyed the sandbox at the party too.

Never too late to start

I am finally posting! I want to thank my cousins for making such great posts to inspire me to post again. I love reading about what is going on in your lives. I've been trying to be a productive person lately, and today was the first day I felt motivated and got some things accomplished. I am going to keep making daily goals since this is how I was able to get so much done today. I thought that I would know what needed to be done and just be able to do it, but that was not the case. I get wrapped up in taking care of Wyatt and then I look at the clock and it 5pm already. So I have decided to break the cycle and make goals. I'm starting with small lists so I don't feel like a huge failure if I don't get everything done on a long list. This is an old concept but it is really helping me right now.

I have had the hardest time trying to upload videos. Here is a short one of Wyatt at the beach that finally worked...

Catching up

Wallet and I were sick a few weeks ago. He had a middle ear infection along with a bad cold. He finished up his antibiotics and I continued to be sick for two weeks. I played in a volleyball tournament about a week into my cold on Saturday May 30th. My partner and I got all the way to the semi-finals before my body said no more and started cramping all over. I was exhausted but had so much fun. Wiggle Wallet and the Judith came down for the tournament a little before noon and stayed all day until about 6:30pm. The weather was perfect with a slight breeze, The Judith has never stayed so long at the beach before and Wyatt is now officially a beach baby. He was a charmer at the beach and all of my friends told me how beautiful he is.

Here's a photo shoot we had a while ago...

The Zoo

Wiggle Wallet and I have started a new adventure. The Zoo! We've been twice now, once with a friend of mine who lives right near the zoo and once with The Judith and our friends Melissa and Joshua. The Zoo has a wonderful playhouse called the Zoomarium, which I think is amazing. Wyatt enjoyed it a lot...here he is looking at the fish.

ImageThe baby play area had drums for the kids to play on, which Wyatt loved.

ImageI really enjoyed the zoo, so much so that I bought a membership. Now Wiggle Wallet and I can go anytime we want to. I have to admit that Wyatt enjoys looking at the other little kids more than the animals, they must be more interesting to him.

Newport Beach

Wiggle Wallet and I had some fun in the sun the day after we attended my Uncle Murray's funeral. It was nice to see some of our cousins that I haven't seen since they were little and to visit and be with our extended family.

Wyatt had his first encounter with sand in California at Newport Beach. At first he didn't even want the sand touching him, but as you can see he progressed to sitting in the sand and drawing in it with his finger. I absolutely love seeing him experience new things. We missed having Uncle Dave, Aunt Virginia and Eva there, but we still had lots of fun.

The Judith asked me today who I thought Wyatt bonded with the most from our extended family while we were in California for Uncle Murray's funeral. I don't have any pictures of them together, but Wyatt really enjoyed Uncle Ballard and had many great conversations with him. It must be all of Uncle Ballard's great Grandpa experience. Thanks to everyone for playing with and entertaining Wyatt.

We spent a little time at the pool the morning we left and Wyatt cruised around exploring but never got into the grass. I think you can see the hesitation in his face in this picture. After the pool we went down to the beach and then to In-N-Out for lunch and then we made a mad dash for the airport.

ImageWyatt and I swam in the pool Thursday morning and he really enjoyed splashing around. As a side note; when we got back to Seattle it was much colder and now we all want to move to Newport Beach. I already miss everyone that we got to see this week. I hope that we can see everyone again soon.
