eek!!  it's almost christmas, it's almost christmas!!  i feel like a little kid!  i. can't. wait.  come on, get here already!!!  cy has been the funnest this year.  the perfect age.  we have three different ways we are counting down in our house and everyday he asks me, "what are we doing 'on the next day'?" (meaning tomorrow) on his birthday last month, he excitedly opened all his presents and was overjoyed at whatever they were.  so, i know he is gonna be thrilled next week!!  eek!  can't wait!!!!

and, chocolate dipped shortbreads make me happy.  as do chocolate butterscotch cookies and popcorn.  it's been a big, busy day baking!

found this printable here.  of course, i printed it right out because it has cy written all over it.  i love being serenaded by cy all day long, but it has been extra-super-dooper fun with christmas songs.  (sigh) do i have to send him to kindergarten!?!?!?!?!  :)

it's after thanksgiving, people............break out christmas already!!!

we've got the decos out and thanks to lane, have watched polar express a dozen times........... at least.  we are ready.

cy helped me this year and it was a blast.  he kept hanging the little red ornaments on the rustic snowflakes.  the first couple days i would move them off the snowflakes and onto the branches, but before i knew it cy would move them back to his original spots.  and now whenever i look at his decorating it makes me really happy........and super excited for christmas morning.

people come and go.  whatever.  every once in awhile you come across someone who you like.........and then they decide to move away.  ugh.  

taish: you are an amazing person and you will be missed terribly.  and i'm sad the boys will be grae-less.  :(

sugar and spice and everything nice.

i haven't bought pepper, like black pepper, for a really long time.  really long time.  years, probably.  does it go bad?  do you throw yours away after awhile and buy new?
on the flip side, i have 3 and a half bags of brown sugar.  i buy that all the time cause i always think i'm out............weird............just thinkin' about it.

i completed a half-marathon.  completed.  not ran.  it was awesome to have it on my birthday and to have my family there supporting me,  but...........i messed up.  i knew not to start out fast.  i knew it.  and i ignored it.  i started out fast.  too fast.  and hit my breaking point at about mile 8.  after the steep, short hill.  i ended up walking a lot and trying my hardest to keep going.  it was a struggle and there was pain.  and thirst.  lots of thirst.  it was hot.  after the race we got in the car and we didn't even get out of the parking lot before i had to tell will to stop because the whole right side of my body was a huge cramp.  so i had to get out and walk.  that was pain.   anyhooooooo, it looks like i have to do another one so i can do it right.  crap.

it's cy bowling.  it rocks.  i love it and have watched it over and over.  you know how i love anything free.......well, we've been taking advantage of "free" bowling for kids this summer.  i use "quotes" because by the time will and i got a pass and we pay for shoe rental [every time] and get pop and fries and play at the arcade, it doesn't exactly add up to "free".  but, it gives us something to do together and it is definitely fun.

i even got third on this race!!  (ok, there was only like 3 in my age group.  still, i medaled.)

running, stake center aerobics, and 5:15 am 3x/week boot camp class.  we are training for the 1/2 marathon. i figured i had to run it since it was on "the list" and it's ON my birthday this year.  i guess it was meant to be.  i'm scared.  but love, love, lovin' how my body feels right now!!

.....we had a freak storm come through last saturday and i took a pic to show will (who was not happy we were on a boat) how clear the lake was.  15 mins later we were in it.  we had sooooooo much fun and made memories.

{sigh} i was so nice and thoughtful and wonderful and more thoughtful to send mariners stuff to our favorite boston red sox fan, katie [we try look past the whole sox fan thing, it is family.] anyhooooooo, last year the kids got red sox m&m's, which was a good joke, we ate the candy, and bam! no more red sox stuff in the house.  welllllll, this year they were just plain mean and sent the kids boston red sox trains, and boston red sox decals {that can stick and re-stick}, and today a stinkin' red sox bat and a "mommy, look!! this ball has socks!" ball.
i've tried everything everything i can think of to convince these two why not to llllooooovvvvveeee these things.  not working.

will and i have been on some pretty fun trips. i have to say that my favorite trips, {by far} have been the ones in which we come home and I find dinosaurs and sharks in my purse. the best. absolutely.
