The Past Few Months.....
The past few months have been Crazy Busy. Fall means Birthdays at the Winterhalder House! To start it off Zaylee turned 3 on September 15th and then to Follow is Paige on October 7th and then Ian on October 9th! Whoa, they have all come and gone in a flash! We celebrated Zaylees at Planet Play with Dinner and Games and then Ian and Paige begged to have separate birthdays this year so we rented a Bounce House and since it was cold outside we were able to have it indoors at my aunts warehouse. First it went Paige's party w Friends then it went Ian's party w friends and then the Family party that night! Next year it will be one party. Sorry kids it sucks to have your birthday two days apart.
Well our October Vacation took us to Hawaii this year!!! Lots of sitting at the Beach and Swimming Pool. We did our usual sight seeing to the North Shore and off to Matsumotos for a shaved ice!
With October being dedicated to Breast Cancer my thoughts and prayers go out to a Friend today!!! She found out a couple of weeks ago that she has breast cancer and today she had a double mastectomy. She is only 32, not the news I would have ever thought. Wear your pink this week for her!!!

Ian's Funny
Ian- Mom what is the plan tomorrow?
Me- Working in the morning and your dad and I are going to the Tim McGraw concert tomorrow night.
Ian-Are you going on a Love night?
Me-Pause with no answer thinking WTH Love Night? What has he been watching on TV.. I never said anything.
Ian-I mean a Date night?
Me-Yes a Date.
Ian-When is your anniversary?
Me-May 17th
Ian- Well tomorrow is not your anniversary so no Date for you.
Me-Ian so I only get to go on a Date with your Dad on our Anniversary?
Ian- Yep!
He kills me....

Crazy

Life has been sooo crazy. With every waking moment I feel like I am just tooo busy. I read a book awhile ago, Mitten strings from God. It was just what I needed. I need to take the advice and Simplify my life!
On a good note I found my camera finally! So I have no pictures of the past month or so... But I was sooo glad to find it!
I am so Grateful for what I have. After seeing the storm drain fail due to being repaired on 1300 W and 5400 S, the water turned the lowest point of the neighborhood into a swimming pool. Jori's neighbor called her and said my basement has at least three feet of water and still coming. Rob, Roy and my Dad headed over. Ian had already cleared grandpas window wells and Rob pumped out the basement stairs at our house so off they went. Rob was gone for 9+ hrs pumping water. He said it was crazy. The house in the bottom of the circle is Vacant and the water went in through the garage and out the back of the house through the sliding glass door. It is crazy to think that just on Saturday we were sitting in that circle watching Fireworks with all of those people that are now flooded. I have never seen so many people outside of the neighborhood helping. I think Murray City is in a heap of trouble. I'm sure they will try and get out of it but what a MESS! This is just a glimpse that I am not prepared for a disaster. I better get my act together.

Grandma Peggy...
This past week has been an eventful one. Grandma returned home peacefully on June 22nd. We got together as cousins on Friday night to reminisce and piece together the final touches of her funeral. Grandma had planned her funeral from top to bottom. Their was nothing missing. She had everything done and paid for. She even chose a plan that would gain interest. So when it came she had almost 1,000.00 to cover the obituary and flowers.
I didn't think that it was going to be this hard with her passing. She has had Alzheimer's for 10 years now. I can't decide if it has been a blessing she was still here for those 10 years or if I should feel jipped because it was not a healthy way of living and my kids did not get to Know the real Grandma Peggy. My grandpa died in 1995. My kids knew Grandma but didn't really Know her! She was such an amazing woman.
Some of the memories that were brought up were your Birthday! You always got to go somewhere with just Grandma! She would be your first phone call! Singing Happy Birthday! You would go to dinner 5pm sharp or Grandpa would melt! Then to the store to pick out Breakfast for the morning and then in the morning she would take you to buy a gift. My favorite Birthday was my 14th! She took me to Park City to ride in a Hot Air Balloon! I still remember the first year she wasn't healthy enough to sing to me. I was 21.
Another memory were her Grandma Parties... She would send you an invite in the mail and the excitement would stir from there! You would always go to a Big Event, Sleepover and from the order you went to sleep is how you would chose prizes and cereal the next morning. We did some Amazing things. My favorite was the Train ride to Colorado so we could ride the river. After riding the river all day we went back to the hotel and grandma was the most prepared woman I ever knew, she pulled out a Birthday cake for my cousin Bryan and an electric frying pan so we could make Sloppy Joes for dinner. We went to Lava on a bus, Brian Head in Cedar City to tube down the snowy mountain, a Palm reader came once, we slept in a Tee pee in her front yard, we went to Professor Funs House in Provo and sooooo many more, and every party would end in a Parade just before bed. Banging of Pots and Pans and she had a box where she kept tambourines and harmonicas and hats. Grandma's biggest Love was a parade. She planned the South Salt Lake Parade for 35 years. It is the only Holiday where I know that we go together as a Family to the Granite Fireworks! Every year! No Camping over the 4th for us!
Her Funeral was an Excellent tribute to her life. She was a very religious and generous woman. She didn't want her Funeral in a Church because she picked out a song that she said wasn't chapel appropriate to have her body escorted out too.
I Love a Parade!!! The lady that played the Piano for this song did Excellent! It was loud and Perfect Grandma would be and was smiling from ear to ear! Oh how I love and miss you gram! Her Graveside service ended with All her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren and my dad having a Parade, Grandma Style at the cemetery, Balloons, Pots and Pans, Sparklers and Hats. What a way to Celebrate her Life! Good thing there were no other people at the Cemetery.
Salutations as Grandma would put it! You are going to be greatly missed. I Love You!
Halloween was 2nd Favortie Holiday next to any holiday with a Parade! She passed out Life Savers in a 5 pack. They don't even make them any more. Now you have to get a big roll or singles :)

Her Grandsons and Son Scot. He was closer in age to the Grandsons

Her Children Scot, Ann, and Russ She had two sons pass away Tony 30+ years ago and Jim just 3 years ago.

Her GrandKids All 15 were there. We sang Angels Among us at the Funeral. At least I attempted too through my blubbering :)

The GreatGrand Kids minus two that were sleeping in the Car from the exhausting day.

Look what she Started!

The Fun!!!

Father's Day Weekend in Moab
Well we did our usual. Fathers Day Weekend in Moab!!! But this year we went a day early and hiked to Delicate Arch. It is something I want to do every year but never have time with the softball game schedule and golf! So this year we did it! Ian came down a day later so he could play in his makeup tourny from Memorial Day. And Zoe came along to entertain Paige! That was the best idea ever, they were soooo good. They swam and played and swam and played some more! The hike was 3 miles round trip and it took us about 2 hrs from start to finish. I can't believe that we live in Utah and have never hiked to the arch before! It was so neat! The baseball team ended up taking 2nd place. Not something they are used to. They usually end up being in 1st! But they played 6 games in two days. The kids went to the pool every chance they got. I think they ended up in the pool 6 times in the 3 days!! I will have to say that usually Moab in June is in the 100's and this trip was in the low 80's and overcast. It even rained on the Championship game and I had to go to the car and get Jackets. Yikes not the usual! But the cooler weather was perfect for the hike!!!
