• Hi,

After upgrading to 4.2.1 and running the database optimization, image upload no longer works correctly. I can see in the browser console that there are 500 errors being thrown, and after a few tries I get this message:

The server cannot process the image. This can happen if the server is busy or does not have enough resources to complete the task. Uploading a smaller image may help. Suggested maximum size is 2560 pixels.

(This is a small JPG of 720×720 pixels)

When I then look in the Google Cloud bucket, the file is actually there, but it cannot be seen on the Media page in WP, and thus cannot be used.

Any idea what could be causing this?

It seems like downgrading to the previous version we were running (3.1.1) makes it work as expected again. Is such a downgrade safe, given the database optimization that happens when upgrading? It seems like everything is working fine after the downgrade. Obviously running such an old version is not desirable though.

    Hello @joakimld ,

The error you are experiencing comes from WordPress. This message indicates that Media Uploader is unable to create image sizes or otherwise process the image.
Please provide more info so we can resolve this issue.
    * Using the new plugin version, please go to Media / Stateless Settings / Status, copy the info and paste here
    * Please try to upload the image using Disabled mode. Does the error reproduce?
    * You mentioned that the image is present on Google Bucket. What about image sizes? Are they also present on the bucket?

    Thanks!
