    Hello,

We have recently noticed that after activating Redis Object Cache, a very powerful technical optimization plugin, the SVG flags used in the language switcher no longer display. At first, I thought the issue was caused by Redis Object Cache, but according to its author, it is more likely related to Polylang or Connect Polylang for Elementor.

I am attaching the support request I sent to Redis Object Cache as well as the developer’s reply :
    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/svg-flags-from-language-plugin-are-not-loading/#new-topic-0

When Redis Object Cache is enabled, the SVGs fail to load.

When the cache is disabled, the flags display correctly again.

    Additional information:

    • WordPress version: 6.8.2
    • Plugin version: 2.6.5
    • PHP version: 8.1.33
    • Connect Polylang for Elementor: 2.5.0
    • Polylang Pro: 3.7.3

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Just checking in to see if you had a chance to review this issue regarding the SVG flags not displaying with Redis Object Cache enabled.

    Thanks for your help!

Have you tried disabling the cache for the Language switcher widget in Elementor?

I’m not sure if it’s a problem with Redis Cache. Connect Polylang don’t uses cache or transients for flag images. Something in your site is replacing “http” with “https” and break SVGs namespace xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg"

We have released a new version with base64 url encoded flag images to prevent any transformation. Updating it should fix the problem 😉
