A Mutant from Planet Cripton, An Origin
In 1974, a baby arrived in the suburbs of Indianapolis, Indiana from the planet Cripton. She looked like the offspring of two Chinese immigrants, Ma and Pa Wong, but something was different.
The Earth’s gravitational force made it difficult for this baby to raise her head. She couldn’t crawl and went straight from sitting to walking. Perplexed, Ma and Pa Wong took their baby to the doctor and found out: she is a mutant from Cripton!
This is her origin story.

Elaine Miles Speaks Out and Copes with Humor Following Encounter with ICE
On November 3, actor Elaine Miles was waiting at a bus stop in Redmond, Washington, when four U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers approached her, demanding to see her ID. Miles, a registered member of the Umatilla Indian Reservation, stood her ground and in what – as she described – “felt like a lifetime, but it was only maybe 30 minutes, 45 minutes long,” they were arguing.

‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ is a Technical Marvel Trapped in a Familiar Story
Every trip to Pandora brings in a visually stunning new adventure and family drama with Jake Sully and Neytiri. The new Avatar: Fire and Ash doubles down on both, throwing the family into a firestorm of grief, resilience, and jaw-dropping world-building that keeps expanding Pandora in bold, unexpected directions. Unfortunately, despite being epic in scale and scope, the film’s lack of a compelling story frustrates, and its many setups lead to surprisingly few satisfying payoff.

While last year’s announcement of Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase caused significant discourse, Season 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians begins to shift its spotlight onto the developing relationship between Annabeth and Percy (Walker Scobell). If the show stays true to following the course of the books, that very relationship will cause many to engage in some deep introspection.

‘IT: Welcome to Derry’ Showrunner Jason Fuchs on the Twists of Episode Six
If you’re a horror fan, odds are you’re watching IT: Welcome to Derry every Sunday on HBO. Ever since the show debuted October 26, and has become a ratings juggernaut for the network. This is due to the masterful work from showrunners Jason Fuchs and Brad Caleb Kane. Rian Johnson and the Cast of ‘Wake Up Dead Man’ on What Their Characters Represent
Rian Johnson’s Knives Out films have always featured some form of social commentary. The first film uses the death of a wealthy novelist, who has been estranged from his toxic and privileged family, to critique the selfish nature of the ultra-rich. Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery adds another layer of commentary on the entitled 1%, especially those in power who rely heavily on sycophantic enablers. It also touches on toxic masculinity and the superficial nature and facade of wealth from online personalities.

‘Zootopia 2’ Twists the Buddy-Cop Formula Without Losing Social Commentary
To say that Disney’s Zootopia is just another animated feature with anthropomorphized animals would be completely reductive. It’s a buddy cop comedy full of laughs and pop culture references, threaded with themes of tolerance, bias, and who gets to feel safe in a city that prides itself on being for “anyone” and “anything.” Asking Zootopia 2 to match, let alone surpass, that mix of vibrant visuals, sharp humor, and pointed social commentary feels like a tall order, yet somehow the sequel rises to it and then some.

‘Zootopia 2’ Stars on Creating Something Wildly Entertaining and Thought Provoking
When the first Zootopia hit theaters in 2016, it turned out to be more than an animated menagerie about predator and prey sharing a city peacefully. It was stealth social commentary about bias, belonging, and who gets to feel safe. Zootopia 2 dials that up with more humor, more banter, and another timely message. And the directors and cast talk about what it means to carry the franchise’s legacy forward.
