SiPearl is the European fabless designer of sovereign high-performance energy-efficient processors for HPC, AI and data centres. These processors will help address strategic dual-use challenges in the fields of security, defence, medical research, energy, climate and engineering with a reduced environmental footprint. In June 2025, SiPearl completed the design of the most complex processor ever designed in Europe, Rhea1. Featuring 80 Arm Neoverse V1 cores, with 61 billion transistors, it is currently in production at TSMC in Taïwan and will be available for sampling in early 2026. Rhea1 processors will equip JUPITER, the first European exascale supercomputer owned by the EuroHPC JU and operated by the Jülich Supercomputing Centre in Germany. Incubated within the European Processor Initiative (EPI) consortium and seed-funded by the European Union, SiPearl employs 200 people in France, Spain and Italy. Following a successful €130 million Series A, the company is launching its Series B round.

The era of relying on US security guarantees is officially over. The message to Europe of the newly published US #NationalSecurityStrategy is explicit: "Burden-Sharing" is shifting to "Burden-Shifting". The strategy demands that European allies assume primary responsibility for their own defense, and the 5% GDP spending requirement is just part of the whole picture. This is the reality check Europe has feared but must now embrace. At #JEDI #TheEuropeanARPA we were the first to warn that technological sovereignty is not a luxury, it is a condition of survival. We are no longer just "anticipating" a shift; we are executing the roadmap for a Europe that can defend itself without the safety net of others. Our immediate #DefenseTech priorities are clear: 🚀 Space & Constellations: We are accelerating our Moonshot Council on access to space and satellite constellations. We must secure autonomous connectivity and surveillance capabilities independent of non-European assets. Next: December 18 🏭 The Future of Industry (War Economy): We are launching a massive push into Advanced & Disruptive Manufacturing. The goal is versatile production lines capable of switching to a "war economy" output instantly, enhancing resilience and reshoring critical supply chains. 🛡️ Cognitive Warfare: Our Moonshot on Disinformation is moving from analysis to active detection and attribution of synthetic data. We must protect our democracies from the "cultural subversion" highlighted as a threat in the global landscape. 💻 Confidential Computing: Strengthening IT security through new semiconductor architectures & privacy by design AI to regain control over protect critical infrastructure and protect critical data. Next: December 19. What #next? In response to this geopolitical earthquake, JEDI is expanding its scope. We are not just funding breakthroughs; we are building the bridge between frontier technologies and deployment. From high-level delegations to Ukraine or Israel, from closed-door exchanges with partner innovation agencies in the US, Korea and Japan, to joint moonshot programs with the UK or Canada. [Event] December 3-5, 2025 - At #CHIPNATION, the leading congress for the semiconductor industry in Spain, Vincent Casillas represented @SiPearl at a panel entitled "An opportunity for RISC-V International in Spain". This panel brought together Miquel Moretó Planas (Barcelona Supercomputing Center), Jose Correcher Soriano (Indra), Jon González Eguiluz (Clue Technologies) and Teresa Cervero García as moderator. In response to a question from the audience regarding #RISC-V and Arm technologies and their most suitable markets, Vincent Casillas answered: "RISC-V is an excellent solution when you want to customise the core and add custom instructions. We are already seeing good adoption in certain markets such as automotive, aerospace and accelerators. But for some markets, such as data centres, this poses a problem because there is too much fragmentation when a complete and stable software ecosystem is needed. This is where #Arm is a good solution, as they have already put a lot of effort over the last 15 years into building an ecosystem that is now ready for large-scale deployment".
