Are you a playwright interested in receiving trained, appropriate feedback for your work? Our dramaturgs are here to provide meaningful recommendations and help you get to the next phase! Open to submissions from across Canada, our Dramaturgical Reading Program is perfect for playwrights who are looking for a structured and critical response to their completed one-act or full-length play. We welcome submissions from playwrights at any stage of their careers. After receiving your completed submission, one of our experienced dramaturgs will respond with a report that includes a detailed analysis of your script, constructive criticism, and questions for consideration as you move forward with the next draft. Join us in welcoming our Block A 2025-2026 cohort! This Fall, we’re excited to support two Block A cohorts led by David Geary and Joanna Garfinkel. The Vancouver Fringe Theatre Society and Playwrights Theatre Centre have jointly announced the winner of the newly renamed Kathleen Flaherty Prize. “For over 8 years, PTC has led a prize for an emerging theatre artist to create a new and bold Fringe piece.” said Joanna Garfinkel, the Artistic Director and Dramaturg at Playwrights Theatre Centre. She explained, “The prospective show receives extensive dramaturgy, production mentorship, and a guaranteed spot at the Vancouver Fringe Festival.”
