I live in Australia and drive a Korean-made car (Hyundai), maybe it's a per-country thing but if you Google "clutch ignition switch" you'll see that it's a real thing.

I'm somewhat surprised to hear this is not a global thing (it is meant to protect you from damaging the engine by trying to crank it repeatedly with the gears engaged, as well as stopping the car jerking forward when you start).

You can start the car while in first gear (and you should always park in gear), as you need to hold down the clutch to start the car anyway. People just like to wiggle it as a habit.

EDIT: For those downvoting because I said you need to hold down the clutch to start the engine, Google "clutch ignition saftey switch". For those offended by me saying that it's a habit and then describe why they do it (as a habit), I'm not sure I can do much to help you.

How to start getting into investing as a kid?

You should focus on enjoying being a kid, if you want to buy something then try to make some pocket money.

For teenagers and young adults, the best return on investment is their own education -- with the right skills you can 10x your earning potential, which is far better than any other investment class. Most investments need a decent amount of capital to either get into them (property, businesses) or to give you any returns worth talking about (ETFs).
